I found this particular commentary in the series the preachers commentary, very dry and textual. Most of the other books in the series have more spiritual enlightenment, less historical dryness. There must be a coming together of both the history and the spiritual impact of scripture for us today to be relative. He was not with without some good comments, however, and I have retrieved several good quotes along the way.
