Meghan is a London journalist with a secret dream and an even bigger secret plan.
Destined to become the food writer at her father’s prestigious cookery magazine, Meghan feels trapped in a life she didn’t choose. So, when she stumbles upon a six-month position as a pastry chef at the Sugarloaf Bakery in Honeywell, it feels like the perfect escape. There’s just one problem—she can’t tell her father, who believes she’s spending a few months with a friend in Paris.
But Meghan’s secret life in Honeywell quickly becomes complicated when Ben, the man filling her supposed role at the magazine, unexpectedly turns up at the Sugarloaf Bakery. Keeping her true identity under wraps becomes a game of near-misses and misunderstandings, especially when she finds herself falling for him.
Their budding romance takes a surprising twist when a trip away together turns Meghan’s world upside down, leaving her to pick up the pieces of her shattered dreams. Second chances are all very well in novels, but she doesn’t dare hope they could happen in real life.
Join Meghan and the cast of lovable characters at The Sugarloaf Bakery as she discovers the right mixture of courage, love, and icing sugar may be all it takes to create the life she’s always dreamed of.
I love all of Rosemary Whittaker's books and this one is another brilliant book. I love the characters they are so believable and it's like they are people you know. I can't wait for the next book of the Sugarloaf bakery.
