Oscar Russell’s quiet life as a struggling writer shatters when a harmless prank at his apartment door spirals into murder. Fingerprints place him at the center of a brutal crime, and soon, the body count rises—including one death he couldn’t possibly have committed.
As Oscar fights to prove his innocence, his nightmares grow darker—and eerily prophetic. His attorney, Sarah, races to uncover the truth, while Detective Weaver grows convinced that Oscar’s dreams are more than just imagination.
But whispers of a conspiracy tie Oscar’s visions to a potential attack that could shake the nation, and the stakes reach terrifying new heights.
Is Oscar an innocent man haunted by his own mind—or a dangerous force with the power to kill in his sleep?
What's good about the book: This novel started off great. It ticked all the boxes for a captivating thriller. Dark, moody and atmospheric, it draws you in from the start. The main character started off as wonderfully complex, with you not knowing, did he, didn't he? Is he a good guy? Is he a bad guy that only think he's a good guy?
For me, the supernatural elements weren't very well done and the explanations weren't fleshed out well. I think the story lost the plot completely with the political angle and the ending felt forced. Rather disappointing from an author who is obviously very talented at writing an intriguing story with deep, complex characters.
I'd definitely give him another shot by reading another of his books, but for me, this one is rather a miss.
