I was working on a project and needed a better understanding of AI and all the fancy sets of initials that describe what does what. After a few hours of searching, I decided on a half dozen (or so) books that I felt were the best ones to help me achieve my goals. Once received, I separated the books into a reading list, easy to hardest. "AI for Beginners Made Easy" was at the top.
As hoped, author Alex Bennett didn't fail to deliver. If you are a beginner in understanding AI, you will do well to start with his book. Chapter One covers the basics while Chapter Two is a glossary (the author is quick to tell us "Don't worry! This chapter is here to translate all that tech-speak into plain English."
Generative AI is next, and Mr. Bennett trumpets the creativity that can be achieved when humans and AI collaborate. The author is obviously in favor of expanding the use of AI, as he usually states a fear and then follows up with reasons why those fears should be considered as possibilities that can be evaded. Chapter Four reviews some of the ways we currently are using AI.
Chapter Five begins to educate the reader and begin to fulfill the promise of the subtitle, "Master Artificial Intelligence from Generative AI to Machine Learning," leading readers to sites that will offer opportunities to use the tools to get you started.
For anyone curious about AI or maybe looking for a chance to get your hands dirty by using the included AI links, this book is a good jumping off point. Five stars.
Alex Bennett has crafted a comprehensive guide that covers the foundational concepts of AI in a manner that is both engaging and accessible. The book breaks down intricate topics like Machine Learning, Neural Networks, and Natural Language Processing into digestible pieces, ensuring that even those without any coding experience can grasp the essentials.
One of the standout features of this book is its interactive exercises. These hands-on projects are incredibly valuable for solidifying the concepts discussed in each chapter. I found myself actively engaged, and by the end of the week, I felt confident in my understanding of AI fundamentals.
The author does a fantastic job of relating AI to real-life applications. From self-driving cars to digital assistants like Siri and Alexa, the examples provided illustrate the practical impact of AI on various industries and everyday life. This not only makes the content more relatable but also highlights the immense opportunities AI presents.
This was a good intro book. There are many of these introductions to AI types of books out there, and not all of them offer something of value. This one does. It combines a broad view into the world of AI with practical examples and links from external resources, making this a useful beginners guide. The AI images were unnecessary though and didn't add anything to the reading experience for me.
This book simplifies the complex world of artificial intelligence. It's a great resource with hands-on projects and clear explanations. The real life examples and glossary make ai approachable and relevant. Overall, it makes learning how to make it fun and accessible.
Contains lots of useful definitions- that is helpful. But I would have preferred practical advice on how to use ai. It might be a good first book for many, but I had hoped for more.
