The year is 2040 and humanity is confronted with our greatest disaster in history. An alien race of researchers monitors the death toll, but governed by their own laws, they can do little to aid humanity. An Australian navy commander is part of the human aid effort in south-east Asia, before he begins a new civilian career. A covert meeting in a remote star system goes horribly wrong, and a Trader captain needs to find a place of safety for his ship and crew - even as his crew fight for their lives in the depths of space. But landing on Earth presents a different series of problems for the captain and his crew….
The story and premise are quite good. I really enjoyed the overall arc of the story and the back and forth from Earth to alien locations.
But, the editing really needs a lot of work. I don't normally even notice grammar errors of there and their, but in this book it drove me nuts. I almost wanted a website where I could report errors for correction.
I have started the second book now and the story is still moving along quite well. I expect the author will improve the publishing process over time so I am willing to give the series a chance and continue reading.
