A life of salvaging tech and fighting horrors in deep space has given him nerves of steel, but now he finds himself coming up against the toughest job of his life.
On a frozen, not-quite-dead planet, a desperate salvage operation has gone wrong. Max has been hired to investigate. What's left of civilization badly needs that salvage. But when his own rescue operation goes just as wrong, he finds himself fighting for his life.
Stranded, wounded, and unarmed, Max must brave the icy, monster-infested nightmare, rescue some particularly attractive ladies, and find some way to complete their salvage mission and escape...
This book co-authored by Lara X. Lust and Misty Vixen was good, but not great. It is somewhat typical of a post-apoc theme that Misty Vixen has done a lot of good work with.
The MC wakes up after his spaceship was blown out of orbit and having barely gotten away in an escape pod. He came to rescue his best friend (and unspoken love) and some others that had something happen to their ship. The MC is a decent enough guy, and makes good decisions. I'm not a big fan of his impregnation fetish, which is already rearing its head in this first book.
The harem consists of the first woman he finds, and his unspoken love. Both are decent, if predictable. Again, common themes from women in Vixen's books are showing up. The intimate scenes are a little shorter than expected.
Overall, it was well written, though with some typos showing up here and there. There's some continuity issues, such as the MC having a shoulder injury and a few hours later picking up one of the women for sexual activities that didn't really make sense.
Being a huge Misty Vixen fan, I will definitely read a sequel.
I got this book as one of the authors released most of their back catalogue for free. Yay for free books, but why is the book free?
Max Slater is stranded on an icy planet after being shot down by a rogue planet defence system. He has nothing with him, just his wits, survival skills, and luck. Oh, the galaxy is also full of zombies after a virus destroys humanity two decades ago. While a vaccination now exists, zombies categorised into shamblers, stalkers, and hunters are everywhere, including the snowy world Max finds himself on.
Max has been hired to rescue a stranded salvage team, including his best friend Sierra. He's motivated as hell but needs to find some gear to start his rescue. Cue endless visiting of abandoned stations, pilfering gear to try and make one working habitat, and relentless zombie stabbing and shooting. Plus it turns out Max is a bit of a ladies man....
The book has many grammatical errors, which detracts from it a bit. It's also pretty formulaic in a standard adventure style, and after dispatching the hundredth zombie, I wished the book would end. Good news, there's a Dead Freeze 2 which I probably won't be reading.
Crashed and stranded on an freezing planet, Max has to survive in a desperate situation. His exploits, and struggles in this fast paced adventure. Finding Lexi a hot thick woman part of the expedition he'd been sent to rescue things heat up and get spicy. The he's able to rescue his estranged girlfriend Sierra and things get hotter. How will they survive and escape the world? Bring on book 2!
Try this one on for size. Lots of danger, good sex, battles with zombie types, heroism, suspense. Surviors of an apocalypse dealing with almost impossible odds just to survive a day at a time. A story, possibly similar to our own, of future generations where survival is uncertain. Highly recommended!
Author writes tales in this case crashed survivors, zombie creatures and humans of varying types. Surviving from nothing but what they were carrying to trying to find missing crewmembers while finding the resources needed to locate them and staying alive.
Not my typical genre of choice, but I did enjoy TWD, & I do like sci-fi, and this seemed to me to be something along the lines of "if The Walking Dead took place in space or on alien planets". Be interesting to see where the story progresses from here.
I liked the main character. Max is a stud. There's two girls so far. And the situation is truly f*****. They're making headway in a fun way. Good chemistry, good dialogue, good time. Look forward to the next
Gave up half way through. The premise of being stranded on a planet filled with zombies was good, but the character building took ages and was boring. Sorry.
A very different end of humanity storyline set in deep space, having said that it was in a darkly humorous way an awesome beginning!!! Some really great characters trapped and surviving a terrible disaster!!! I can't wait to see what happens next!!!
