Vaughn Bodē was an American underground cartoonist and illustrator known for his character Cheech Wizard and his artwork depicting voluptuous women. A contemporary of Ralph Bakshi, Bodē has been credited as an influence on Bakshi's animated films Wizards and The Lord of the Rings. Bodē has a huge following among graffiti artists, with his characters remaining a popular subject.
A random purchase, and not one that I entirely regret. This is a collection of weird comic strips that range from mildly amusing to outright bizarre, misogynistic, racist and pointless. The only real enjoyment that can be gained from this book is that of exploring a bygone time through the work of one particularly outlandish, drug addled, sex obsessed artist. On that basis, this work is a triumph.
This is just a mess of racist and misogynistic comics. Barely any of them are interesting, in my opinion, and the ones that could be interesting are too short. Definitely not for me and I will not be recommending this to anyone.
Honestly it is just a collection of one off "funny" stories I think the only actual ones that got a chuckle are the least pornographic ones, cause that's what this collection is kinda just smut
I will say I did like the colouring (it looks like alcohol makers or some kind of paint) and a lot of technical stuff like machinery looks really cool kinda reminds me of Toriyama
I can also see where Ralph Bakshi got a lot of "influence" from Bode's style for Wizards too, like yeah
