A high school shooting. An unforgiving community. Someone has to pay.
Raven Ledger is running from people who blame her for her brother’s crime. The city is grappling with the murders of twenty-one people at Allegheny High School. The news of the shooting is on every television station. The nation is talking about what happened . . . They’re also talking about the shooter’s twin sister who has disappeared.
Raven is being hunted by a gang that lost members in the massacre. Her nemesis, Blanco, the girl Raven saved at school that day, leads the chase. Blanco and the other gang members are out for blood and won’t give up until they get revenge.
Raven’s only priority is to find a safe place to live and move on with her life. She agrees to go to a secret shelter for women, but the women who live there are no strangers to violence. One woman in particular won’t rest until Raven pays the price of admittance.
Raven flees the shelter and finds herself alone again. Desperate, she takes a chance and calls an old acquaintance who sends her to see someone in South Philadelphia. With no friends and too many enemies, Raven bravely steps into the close-knit neighborhood that doesn’t welcome outsiders.
But no matter where she goes, cruel people cross Raven’s path, wanting her to be punished. Raven’s torment worsens until she is embraced by a man who is so powerful and deadly, that no one dares to cross him . . . except for one person.

#1 Amazon bestselling author Paige Dearth is a survivor of child abuse. Through grit and pure determination she set out to provide a look inside the pain and suffering caused by childhood trauma through her novels.
Paige writes real-life horror and refers to her work as Fiction With Meaning. She hopes that her fictional stories will create awareness for prevention and intervention. Paige writes stories about young children who need to overcome adversity and then take you on their life’s journey. You will shed tears of joy, grief, rage, and horror. She wants her readers to be thinking about the story long after they have turned the last page.
Paige believes that society should not look the other way because a subject seems too difficult to handle and to remember that people live through these real-life horrors.
Paige lives in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with her husband Mike, and dog, Benny. Her debut novel, Believe Like A Child, was the catalyst for her writing platform. The beginning of Believe Like A Child is based on events from Paige’s childhood. Paige’s novels present a fine balance between what lives on in her imagination and the evil that lurks in the real world.
Paige’s favorite motto is:
“Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.”
~Benjamin Franklin
PAIGE'S STANDALONE NOVELS IN ORDER OF PUBLICATION:
I’ve read all of this authors books and I absolutely love when characters from other books show up in the story I’m reading.
All her books take place in Kensington and I saw another reader hate on this but I think it is a key aspect to her stories.
If you think about bad areas in the world full of homeless people, runaways, and those society have thrown away they all reside in the same place.
Paige Dearth takes you through each persons story. She tells the damaging background and how the character came to be where they are and how they fight back.
Her stories are fiction, but they shine truth on things that really happen and bring awareness to parts of the world most people close their eyes to.
She is and always will be my favorite female author.
The first book was so good with a well developed story and fantastic writing - this one doesn’t even feel like it was written by the same person! The scenarios Raven finds herself in are severely underdeveloped and make no sense as to why they were written in. Stopped reading before 40% because I couldn’t take any more of Monica and the relationship Raven forged with her.
This book like all of Paige’s novels is fantastic and completely addictive from the first page to the last. This is the second book of the 2 part series and it’s enthralling and keeps the reader wanting more at every page turn.
Paige is so talented. I will immediately purchase her next books, and I've read all the previous ones. She writes characters you love or hate. She gives you a perspective into a life you may not know. The story isn't always feel good, in fact, a lot of the time it isn't. But it feels real and raw. Life changing reads!!!!
Wow. Wow. WOW!! What an incredible ending to an even better duo. Paige has done it again! She is an amazing author. I would read anything that woman writes. I especially loved how she incorporated Mean Little People. The only complaint I had was she made it sound like Kate walked away from Tony, when in Tony’s book that was most certainly not the case. I wish she would have cleared up the lines. But that complaint doesn’t even lose a star. I wish I could give more. I can only pray she writes more books as this was the last and final book by her that I had left to read.

I have read all her books and loved them all. For some reason this is my favorite. I love how she brings parts of her other books into her recent books. Makes you feel part of the family. Hope there are more.
Ok so the first book was great. This was just stupid. Like, Raven now all of the sudden finding all these people who helped her out after she had been abused her entire life. Like everyone she talked to turned out to be great people who loved and cared for her. Not saying that all of them should be bad but at the same time it was just kinda unrealistic.
Also the love story - bleh 🤮. Super sappy. Tony was a great guy and I did like him but all the lovey stuff made me cringe. And the sex scene (which was not super graphic) made me wanna throw up. AND THE FACT THEY GOT MARRIED IN THE END UHHHHHHH IT WAS SO SAPPY
It would’ve been better if Raven moved to another state like Cali or something and was trying really hard to make a good life for herself and then eventually she meets a really nice boy (who wasn’t mafia cuz like fr why did Tony have to be part of the FREAKING ITALIAN MAFIA) and they are still just dating at the end cuz the marriage was pushing it. Also it would’ve been better if not every woman she meets was this amazing loving person. Like, okay there can be one or two people who help you out, but not an entire freaking neighborhood who loves you.
And the scene where Jester finally comes in was just really pushed and stupid. Like if he had been stalking her for a while and appeared earlier in the story then it would’ve made more sense, but he can’t just appear out of no where. And Tony coming in right before Jester killed Raven was also just really stupid and was to be expected.
Basically, I think the authors goal was that in the first book Raven has a horrible life but then in the second book it gets better and she can be happy and be loved. Nothing wrong with that; it was just too pushed. The first book was great, and I do think Paige is an amazing author, this book was just unrealistic. You can’t read the first book without reading the second though, and I’m excited to read about Tony’s life in one of her other novels.
This book wasn’t as graphic and violent as the first one, but still beware as you read it. Some parts were pretty scary, and that’s coming from someone who really isn’t bothered by a lot.

This book followed "The Shooter's Sister" where Raven's twin brother Matthew was the school shooter, killing 21 people at his high school before he was shot by Raven. In the aftermath of the shooting, Raven is trying her best to move on from the tragedy, but she will always be referred to as "The Shooter's Sister". Raven tries her best to live under the radar, which limits her options. She finds herself homeless with no one to support her. After finding a shelter that provides her with a safe place to stay and warm meals, she connects with a few people that help Raven get back on her feet and make the most of her life.
In this book, people are very quick to label and judge Raven for things that she is unable to control. In today's world, I feel that is something that happens far too often. As a teacher, each student who enters my classroom has their own baggage/their own story to tell (If they are willing to share.). There is good in all of us, some people are just naturally provided with more fortunate situations and circumstances. As a character, Raven had many obstacles to overcome, yet she did not give up on herself. This series was a powerful read and I am glad that I came across it.
The only bad thing about this book is that it has ended. Wow Yr heart breaks for Raven Ledger over and over and just wonder when she is going to find love & acceptance. Then she does....slowly she starts to meet people who help her get through her tough times still trying to escape the horrors her brother caused. Unbelievably one of the Kensington hood girls who's life Raven saved will not leg go of her grudge towards the girl but she does get what's coming in due time. I absolutely was thrilled to have Salvador Vincent & Tony back in full swing and of course Raven is taken with Tony but I not going to spoil too much there, if you have not read the other books "I little pinprick, I think 🤔 they will be easy to find" you must read them there just as good. I love how cleverly this is a totally different set of books but how the author has brought these books back to this family 😍. We defo need more Tony & raven to read. You must give these books a go I promise once you start you will find it hard to put down and it's a good 400+ page read too wich I also love.. well done @paige Dearth bloody brilliant
Another amazing book by my all time favorite author!
Wow...this book was absolutely amazing. I always feel like I don't want this author's books to end because I just love reading them so much. I have read every single one of her books, and will be rereading all of them until she comes out with another book....well hopefully many books. I've read A LOT of books. It's hard to find an author where literally every single book is so good at character development and each one also manages to keep you entertained until the very last page. Her books are the definition of impossible to put down. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this book at all, or any of her books.
This may possibly be the most ridiculous book I've read this year. One thing bothered me big time. Why didn't Raven ever just take the money she earned and leave Philadelphia? Why is it that only poor, sad Monica ever mentioned leaving town? No. Instead Raven is just like, oh woe is me, I'll go from North Philly to South Philly. Girl, PLEASE. Everyone kept saying how smart and strong Raven was, but was she? Really?
The ending was also pretty stupid, in my opinion. Raven definitely gives off "I'm not like other girls" vibes and honestly, I kind of disliked her. By the end, I didn't care what happened to her.
Each book is devastating in it’s own right. The characters are strong and often terrorized my a poverty stricken life and demented people who should love, but don’t. You truly get all the feels. I find myself reading so fast sometimes just to get to end of the suspense. Paige has a way of making your heart race and your hopes run high. Over and over. So worth the read. It will change your life and leave you thinking about the characters for a long time past the read.
Paige you've done it again. I always wanted Tony to be happy, and of course Raven. Two wounded souls who found each other. I felt like I was at the "wedding". Your characters seem to make the readers feel their pain & sadness too. You have to go back to June, she needs a happy ending too. Of course all of your readers want to hear more about Tony & Raven. Hey I almost forgot what about the girl, who had to give up her baby to Rainey.... Good writing. I can hardly wait your next saga.
Once again Paige Dearth wrote a book that keeps you engaged and not want to put the book down. She has such talent that she makes you feel like you know the characters and are experiencing what they are with her writing style. There is never a chapter that bores you. Paige Dearth just can't publish her books fast enough for me. I'm already looking forward for the next ones. Hopefully soon.
The Twin Sister by Paige Dearth. 5⭐️. WOW! this book was nothing like the first and im kind of glad. this book was about raven finding redemption and getting a second chance at life. it started out rough , but the second Tony walked into her life , i knew raven would get her happy ending. there were so many suspenseful and thrilling pages in this book and even a little romance. i’m very happy with the ending and i cannot wait to read more from this author !
What the hell was that garbage!?!?! The first book was incredible, my first 5 year review of the year! This book? Wtf??? It was a complete freaking waste of time!!!!! What was the point of the cliff hanger on the very end of the first book just to NOT BOTHER bringing it into your next book until the last couple chapters!!??? Ugh! The entire book was just following her from house to house?? Really? Ridiculous. I hated it
I loved this book. Book two follows what Ravens life is like after the school shooting and she had to unalive her own brother. Now there people after her to make her pay for what her brother did when he did the school shooting. She finally meets her non blood family and falls in love with someone In the Mafia. I need more of Raven! what will her life be like now that shes married to Tony?
please tell me there will be a book 3?!?!

This story was soooo moving, exciting, entertaining, sad and just WOW!!!. This poor child has DEFINITELY been thru some sh*t, in her short life😥. But HOPEFULLY Now she has someone who will love her and take care of her. WOW, it just don't any better than that😋. Paige is a PHENOMENAL writer and storyteller😘😍.
LOVE Paige's books! Just read my last one and need more! Every single one of her books make me not want to stop reading! It's sad to know that things like this happen in real life, but it's interesting and you can't wait to see how things work out in the end! Highly recommended checking out all her books!
I tnoroughky.enjoyed the conclusion to The Shooters Sister. Dearth does.a.great job creating a character who is both tough and loveable. The complexity of Raven alongside her simple desire to.have a family and be loved makes for an intriguing story. Much like characters in the book, you'll find yourself rooting for the twin sister.
I have always loved the author's books For she is an excellent writer, and keeps the story interesting and the reader wanting more. This book is true to many people that have gone through abusive relationships in foster care and family homes. She tells it like it is.
I love seeing the underdog come out on top. To be faced with horrific battles to survive in life and still be able to have a good soul through it all. That's what the main character Raven does. she spends every second fighting for her life but still pushes on no matter what. I love that this book represents perseverance in the best way possible. Going from a crap life to having the best one.

Justice. Not the justice needed but the justice deserved. How can someone stay so mentally positive with all the baggage? The fear? It was one set back after another, even I had to stop reading for a bit because my heart just hurt so bad for raven. Paige dearth’s books are exactly up my alley and I’m going to continue reading her published list!
I read this book right after finishing the first one. This story is so heart felt and sad at times. You feel Ravens sadness and determination to keep going and not give up. The ending almost feels magical. It is an eye opening look at what those leave behind for their loved ones when they choose to commit such horrific acts. While her brother committed the crime she was faced with the back lash and ended up doing the time for him being locked up on the street going day to day not knowing if she’ll have somewhere to sleep tomorrow.
This was a really good conclusion to the first book! I love how Paige sprinkles in characters from her other books. She has created a whole world of memorable characters. I love this author and all her books are worth a read!
Be prepared to read until the end.....have tissues ready you will need them... Paige Dearth's books won't disappoint.... every book that she has written will be your favorite!!!!!
This duet of books was difficult to read & believe author lived it or was a hybrid of shared experiences. Thank you MS Dearth for ensuring I am thankful every night in my prayers I, too, survived.
