I liked the anime style artwork, but the story was very rushed, and not even enough action/fights to keep me interested. It could be that I am not as familiar with the Ultraman characters or world, but really, I did not get to see much of it as the book is so rushed.

The Avengers thought they had solved their Galactus problem, but really, they made Galactus Ultraman and his Earths problem. Now them must fix their mistake. However, can this Earth even with its more advanced technology and Ultraman fight off the World Devourer and Their usual Kaiju?

I like how Tony Stark/Ironman fits in completely in the high-tech Ultra Earth. Small but rushed interactions between the Avengers and the Ultra team. The Spider-men (Peter Parker) are a letdown for me their current writer must have been consulted. The book finishes with a varient covers gallery, including sketch covers.

This one had more character interactions and banter than other crossovers I’ve read recently, and honestly that can be refreshing. Some of the fights were a little short or omitted. Still, I overall liked it!

Points for selecting the right villain for this crossover. Otherwise, it's pretty much just functional, not bad but not remarkable either. Note, this is set specifically in Marvel's version of the Ultraman franchise. (C+)

A pretty solid crossover with a good Avengers line up. I like that it was different universes coming into contact with each other because Galactus got stranded in the Ultraman Universe. I know nothing about that franchise and I’m very grateful for the little recaps Marvel likes to do. It’s easy to follow along with and different characters have good interactions with each other don’t don’t require much knowledge to have fun with.

Higgins’ Ultrabooks have been enjoyable for what they are, but this one commits the cardinal sin of being boring as hell. Who, exactly, is the audience here? Even with familiarity of both universes, there’s little substance to grab onto. Not that this type of affair needs an engaging storyline, but what little is there isn’t even enough to set the stage for some engaging smash bang battles to occur. It’s a shame because Manna’s art style is great, but not great enough to redeem this.

This is an instance where I think the book would’ve been greatly improved if the Avengers weren’t in it. The premise of Ultraman having to deal with Galactus is already a great idea with a lot of fun potential, but it all gets bogged down by lame banter and poor characterization.

I dug the first Ultraman book, so I grabbed this one toot sweet when it showed up at my library. Turns out I missed two intervening volumes, though their plotlines are neatly recapped for readers like me.

The gist: The Avengers defeat Galactus by sending him to another universe, but then he turns his hungry gaze on Ultraman's Earth. Now the Avengers, feeling guilty, have popped through a portal to help out Ultraman and his crew. We've got Iron Man, Sam Wilson, Captain Marvel, Wasp, and two different Spider-Men on hand to help Ultraman punch some regular kaiju and Marvel's favorite kaiju.

The plot is straightforward, but with some fun twists (it's not just about big robots punching big monsters). I was surprised at how each Avenger felt unique with the limited space given to them. The Spider-Men are especially delightful. The artwork is terrific too, doing a lot of heavy lifting amidst the sometimes dense world-building dialogue. All told, a very fun crossover that could be picked up and enjoyed even if you know nothing about Ultraman.

Pretty interesting that this is a continuation of the story they left off in Ultraman, Vol. 3: The Mystery of Ultraseven, but sometimes you just want to crossover with the rest of the mainstay Marvel peeps first.
Galactus is ready to eat Earth (again), but after getting walloped a couple of times by a silver giant with salted egg eyes, he realizes that there's probably better eating in the Land of Light, so he goes there. Get a couple of more appearances by more people from the expanded Ultraman mythos, and that's pretty great since who knows if we'll get them as solo adventures. More assorted beams to the face and the big purple guy is down, agreeing to go back to the main Marvel universe quietly.
If you're wondering why I gloss over the other Avengers present in the crossover, it's because they each have a brief moment to shine, then go back to being background characters to the Ultraman continuity's characters. *shrugs* Whatcha gonna do?

I think I’ve now read too many stories (and watched a film) in quick succession where Galactus is one of the primary, if not the primary, bad guys. I said this in my recent review of the Godzilla x Avengers, but my affinity for Kaiju-related media runs back to earliest childhood and Ultraman was definitely adjacent to that. Also helps that the character factors in prominently to RPO, a novel I loved unabashedly after my initial read of it around 2012. There are certainly stakes in this narrative, but the characters all feel broad and nothing terribly meaningful happens in the course of the run. The Kaiju battles are brief and nothing all that interesting happens (they get punched out, or blasted, end scene). The Ultraman stuff is fun at least. Would have loved to swap Janet for She Hulk, though I’m not 100% sure she’s on this version of the Avengers…

Fun enough to work! Heavy on the silly banter, light on the action. Just incredible art and coloring throughout though. I'm approaching this from more of an Ultraman fan standpoint than an Avengers fan since I know next to nothing about them outside of the movies. I geniunely hope they continue this Marvel Ultraman series as I like a lot of what they're doing, like I really enjoy Shin and Ultraman being able to comminucate with each other and I also just like that the Ultras speak, it makes them feel more grounded as these beings of another world. I also want to see more Dan and Marvel's take on Ultraseven in the comics since he is my current fav Ultraman.

Not very exciting for what boiled down to a typical "Galactus wants to eat this planet" plot, but I did enjoy Captain America taking accountability for what happened and the Avengers somewhat uncharacteristically being, well, heroic in the way I more often consider for Ultraman himself. Tony Stark wasn't a dick at any point!

A solid “does what it says on the tin” crossover comic that while it starts out somewhat rough it becomes fairly entertaining once it gets going!

Not bad for a marvel comics take on the tokusatu kaiju fighting hero ultraman!

It’s not high art, and not all of the Avengers involved really get much to do, but I can’t stay mad at a story where The Wasp uses Pym Particles to make Captain America’s shield giant sized so Ultraman can smack Galactus around for a bit

There is nothing wrong with this mini-series. Truthfully it really is for crossover addicts like myself. The threat is big enough (literally) so that Higgins plays off that aspect of Ultraman.

Not bad, just expected more, like an actual slobberknocker, end-all, be-all fight with Ultraman and Galactus...and not what we got.
