Definitely, Lovecraftian!

The narrator is a young student, at university, when he becomes good friends with Dexter Davidson.

He is man of science. A believer in the occult. Dexter is a man of mathematics. A believer in facts.

They get along wonderfully. Not that they don’t have disagreements.

Case-in-point…our narrator who works in a library, has come across a famous old book, The Necronomicon.

Our nameless narrator, as a man of science and lover of the occult is highly excited by his find, and wants to share his news with his friend.

But Dexter has other beliefs. As a man of the higher mathematics, he can’t begin to believe.

However, one day, he borrows his book (on a lark, l guess), and begins to experiment with the possibility of other dimensions.

The nameless narrator is called over to begin experimenting with the discovery of more dimensions and other life. If possible.

But things don’t go as planned. The usual chaos, ensues.

A nice short story, with a quick moving Lovecraftian plot line. I wish it had been a little longer so things could have been more fully developed, but I enjoyed anyway.
