Yaya finds herself in a situation that every girl probably secretly fantasizes about. Two handsome, nefarious men, vying for her affection. However, she soon learns that dabbling in the matter of hearts with certified street killers could have deadly consequences.
I went into this book prepared to call Yaya all kinds of slut buckets and I would’ve been right in that assessment. But, Will made it easy for her to do the things she did. Now, in her small but minor defense, when your man starts movin’ funny it’s easy to conclude his azz is out there in them H-Town streets doin’ somethin’ dirty. When he leaves home at midnight, doesn’t come back until 12 hours later, is late pickin’ you up from work, sends you to voicemail when you call, and stops replyin’ to your texts, what else are you suppose to think other than he’s creepin’?!!! Will’s behavior made it easy for Yaya to keep that same energy and activate her get back plan. “That’s what your actions told me. All this running around with your cheating azz friends. Coming in late. Forgetting what time I get off work. Leaving me without transportation, while you hop on party buses. Being seen out in public with bytches, while I’m nowhere to be found. That don’t sound like a man who wants a relationship to me.” It sure and TF don’t. Yeah, I’m being messy. 😏😏😏😏
Will has been doin’ a good job of hiding his cheating until he got sloppy and started movin’ recklessly. Yaya was willing to ignore his behavior (to a certain extent) because, up until that point, she didn’t have any real proof he was steppin’ out on her. But, not comin’ home was the final straw. Sis said, “Let me show you how I get down.” Poor Will. He really didn’t know who he was dating. A scorned Yaya wasn’t nothin’ to be played with. See, Will didn’t realize he was playin’ checkers while Yaya was playin’ chess and her version was gon’ have him cryin’ in the car. She took gettin’ your lick back to a whole new level and Will was not prepared for the consequences of his actions.
Romeo has secretly had his eye on Yaya for some time now and when Will foolishly fumbles the bag, he’s standin’ on the sidelines just waitin’ to pick it up and give her the soft life she deserves. Romeo wants all the smoke and, he don’t mind burnin’ down the city behind the youngin’ who stole his heart. Doing the Unthinkable is a love triangle that is goin’ to stress you TF out. 🥴😵💫🥴😵💫 Both Yaya and Will unknowingly get caught up in their lies while Romeo’s duplicitous azz is patiently waitin’ in the cut to make his move. When the smoke clears, who will be left standin’?!!!
There's going to be some smoke in the city. I know my girl didn't mean any harm. She really just got caught up in a crazy situation but man, I don't know how I want this to go for her. I just hope she makes it out of this situation unscathed. It's not looking too promising. This was such a great read. Messy, but I loved it.
This was pure mess!!!! This was a love triangle where all 3 ppl were narcissists & manipulative af. As the female in the triangle Yaya had the power but she failed at using her power for her benefit. She really irked my nerves. Then Romeo almost made me dnf the book cause ain’t no way you THAT ninja & you begging to be a side dude my fav MMC’s would NEVERRRR. However, this book was so messy I couldn’t stop reading, Lmao.
I’ll agree; they were all terrible in their own right.
Somehow, I still found myself rooting for Yaya the whole time. I don’t care whose feelings were hurt; they deserved it low-key 🤷🏾♀️😭. Will would do shit to get a reaction out of her, and then when she reacted, he all of a sudden knew precisely what he needed to do to make it right, yet he couldn’t do that before she went off? He was also really irresponsible when it came to funds. He’d drop a bag on clothes and shoes instead of investing in something legit, so he didn’t have to continue doing a job he sucks at. Like, he actually fucking sucks at selling 😭. I couldn’t be mad at Yaya for feeling a type of way about his lifestyle. Also, apparently, he really was cheating; he just hid it better—which definitely aided in me being team Yaya. There was also the fact that he was a lil controlling and abusive.
As for Romeo, that nigga has been spitting game since he picked her up. He swore he didn’t have to kiss his ass to get anything, but that’s exactly what he was doing with Yaya. He purposefully put things in her head because he wanted her to himself. He said he had been watching her for a few years. Yaya is 20 years old. Had he been plotting since before she was legal? 🤨. Throw in the fact that he’s 25 as well, and he just felt predatory. But I was fucking with Yaya keeping it real with him and taking the luxuries he offered. She’d be a fool not to. But then it got very weird to me after Yaya decided to work things out with Will for the first time. Yaya would say no repeatedly yet end up fucking him. He’d push and bully himself into gaining access to her, and he just felt rapey after a while. It felt like Yaya damn near didn’t have a choice once she let him hit that first time. He always used underhanded tactics to get access to her. It was weird, and he was messy as hell.
Now, as for Yaya…I only felt she was wrong frfr when she allowed these niggas to buss in her with no protection. Why would she go off her birth control knowing the money is flakey with Will? She did many things that reminded me that she is just a 20-year-old who doesn’t know much about herself or her world. She’s been in a relationship all her teen/adult years and hasn’t been able to experience anyone or anything else. She didn’t have a good example for a parent—clearly, as she’s not the only child dealing with self-esteem and men issues. So, I tended to lean on her side because it felt like she was always coerced into something or made to do something. After all, that was what others expected. Her life is a facade until Romeo comes to show her wealth.
So, in conclusion, ion like none of them niggas. Team Yaya, because I support whatever she is doing until further notice.

Yaya was faithful to a fault until she wasn’t and Will was her king until he started moving questionably. Each made mistakes based on assumptions and actions until Yaya stumbled upon Romeo and Will, the love of her life, walked out. Romeo was manipulative and got what he desired until he caught feelings. Yaya became the type of person that she despised. Will truly loved Yaya but his immaturity and lack of stable lifestyle bred Yaya’s insecurities. That ending between Yaya and Romeo was deep. Oh boy read her the riot act. I can’t wait for part 2.
I be eating these books up but a lot of them are repetitive. Same thing and places over and over again. I didn’t figure Romeo would be so petty. Yaya really into some things.

Trigger warning: talks of suicide, sexual coercion, and domestic abuse
I'm not sure who to root for here. I do not like the idea that Will would kill Yaya if she cheats or leaves him. It has been mentioned a few times that Will would kid Yaya and no one sees this as a red flag. I also think Romeo is a problem not in the same way. He does some things to get what he wants that I cannot get behind. Plus the guys both have some good qualities. There aren't any blatant bad things that would have me root for the other guy. We do get more emotion out of Romeo, but I don't know how real it is. I question how much ego is involved. They all know how to sell the bs, and this includes Yaya. This book was a messy good time, but I was scared at every single moment. Nicole Jackson always got me concerned for these women.
Some random notes I took while reading without spoilers. * I don't understand why people always have sex with people without condoms. When you're cheating on your mate that is the ultimate betrayal. Putting their health at risk. * This man Romeo does not like that he cannot get what he wants. We have a first person pov mainly from Yaya, but every so often we get Will or Romeo's pov. This man is not used to getting what he wants and he wants Yaya. He is determined to get this woman. * I want to know Romeo's age. He keeps calling Yaya Youngin.
you know an author has you captivated when you as a speed reader can't read fast enough to get through the story.
Was I rushing to just get through the story... Hell NO! I needed to know what would happened next.
It was written just that amazing!
The way our three main characters interacted and developed through the pages- talented writing.
All flawed but the author wrote them in such a way that one minute I hated them and the next, I had compassion for the situations and decisions they were making.
Make no mistake- this was a messy good time!
However, it was never redundant, overwhelming, or unnecessary.
Every story, every interaction well placed!
This book ends on a cliffhanger BUT the next story is already out now.
I could promise you if it was not, I would have still recommended the read and the wait for part two because it was well worth it!
One thing Ms Jackson is going to do is bring the drama! Yaya and Will were young and seemingly in love, but something in the milk just never seemed clean to me where Will was concerned for as much as he professed his AND a person saying they’d kill me versus letting me leave does not sit well in my spirit. Now Miss Yaya was wrong as two left shoes and I wanted to wring her neck but somehow I still found myself a teeny tiny bit on her side sometime but my goodness the drama was never ever ending and Romeo…when the teacher becomes the student cause he sure thought he was in control until he realized he wasn’t! If your nerves can handle the drama and anxiety then this a great love triangle but one of the parties don’t know he’s in a throuple 🤭
I Mean His Name Isn’t Romeo For Nothing!! There Are Just Some Men That Will Have You Twisted And, by God Yahira just wasn’t ready. But, She Is Definitely Goin To Learn This Hard Lesson! Because the mental gymnastics that he was playing with this girl coupled with his ego was entertaining to say the least. But, it definitely got old….i’m a chalk it up to Yaya being young☹️
In closing it was a solid read. Nicole’s writing is formulaic at best so, I know what to expect. If that makes sense. I deduced points for minor editing and IMO for the price this book could of been at least 300 pages. Do better!
It was obvious Will was out there entertaining other women. I think Romeo knew and use that as an opportunity to approach Yaya. Initially Yaya’s friends planted the ideal of Will stepping out on her in her head, so once Romeo basically reiterated the same thing, Yaya believed them. Yea Yaya was wrong with sleeping with both men, but they were both wrong on how they carried her. Will & how he carried her at the party, and Romeo when he found out she was pregnant. Yaya is dealing with two very selfish men. Excited for part 2.
*No spoilers - My girl Yaya got herself caught up between two men and I’m here for it. The drama doesn’t end with this book, so be prepared to be left hanging. We get to see inside the heads of everyone in this love triangle - Will, Yaya, and Romeo. I like the way Nicole develops each of the characters to where the story doesn’t feel rushed. It was an enjoyable, quick read with plenty of steam. Can’t wait to see what happens in part II.
Wow! Nicole is always on point and knows how to tell a story. Im on my way to part 2 it only took a day and a half to read this. lol The only thing that I dont like is Nicole you seem to have an issue with color. You seem to make it a point to describe the lighter hue of our people as the most desired and why everybody gotta have funny colored eyes. Smdh. IJS its aggravating
I knew she was going to get cased up like that, I knew it. Bad part is I don’t know which man to choose. I’m leaving towards Will but idk. He was moving a lil funny too. She gotta do better. She kept saying know but he would make her out of a liar each time. Smh part 2 me please
Omg, I can't breathe after reading this and holding my breath. The scary and craziest part is yaya is human and if Will hadn't been moving suspect this wouldn't have happened. They're young and before any judgment is passed I'm glad she got some on the side because he ain't innocent. Romeo is going to be hard to get rid of and I say she keep them both.
THIS BOOK WAS CRAZYYYYYY!!! I surely wasn't expecting this, but babyyyyyyyyy it was too good. Yaya is a mess, and I don't respect it. Romeo done caught feelings, so this will never end well for him or Will. I'm still not sure about Will because I think he was sneaking around, but if he was, they were both wrong. On to book 2 great read Nicole Jackson
THIS !!! It was so good. Which was surprising because I usually hate cheating but Yaya did it so well! Romeo was so cool! I also understood why it was so hard for Yaya to let Will go even when Romeo was clearly the better choice! The best part was the fact that Romeo got involved in this love triangle thinking he was just finally going to hit it and quit it with a girl he always wondered about and then move on and then found himself falling for her when he knowingly set out to be her sidepiece.!
I didn’t like how Romeo was falling for her so fast like he knew her situation but still saying that she was his.. he was making me nervous the whole time like damn chillll 😅. I lowkey want her and Will to work out because they both did each other wrong and they obviously love each other. I hated how yaya was so reckless and let her emotions run her, not my fav FMC she gives young weak dumb ho
This author Nicole Jackson has capture my mind and my soul with her books. After reading her other series with Yaya and her sister, I started reading doing the unthinkable. Let me tell you doing the unthinkable has me anxious to get to the next part yeah yeah and lia Are two of a kind but I think yeah yeah has her sister beat and I am Waiting on book 2
Lord yaya done got herself in a pickle, this book was good, I love me a good hood story that’s relatable, all your books I can picture myself in that situation, can’t wait for part two
Honestly, I dont even know where to begin. Im speechless. I'm not sure if it's because this story feels familiar as heck or because of how well written it is. Needless to say, it's some of Nicole Jackson's best work. No spoilers here. Read it!
Will might be crazy, but Romeo is whipped, attached, in love, and crazier. Girl, runnnnnn, that's all I got. Nicole never fails. I can't wait for book two. This book was anxiety provoking, with a lot of toxic drama, whew!
Na Nicole I’m left speechless I don’t know what to do without you girl. Yahira in a PICKLE AND Romeo is what the shit…. Girl you never disappoint me with that mindset of yours… I LOVE IT.
Wow I don't know what to say all I know is I need part 2 ASAP. All right kudos to the author this was well written a beautiful story line Characters are well developed And this story definitely flows Nicely
Wow, what a ride! The drama in this was soo good. I was hooked!!! Romeo is a piece of work. I wouldn't want to encounter a man like him. Well-written with great characters. I'm excited to read part two. I feel bad for Yaya...this is some real entanglement lol
Wow smh she let me down. Two wrongs don’t make a right. He’s even trying. Yeah she told him to go back. But she ain’t ish for real. Her karma she be she ends up alone broke.
I'm so torn because I don't like Yaya! I just don't know how to feel. She's torn between 2 good dudes that don't deserve this. This is crazy and I can't wait for the next part!
