I love the ocean. The coast is where I work and live my life. But this year I wanted something different for Christmas. When the opportunity arose to swap my condo for a cabin surrounded by snow, I couldn’t turn it down. It’d be fun to get away for the holiday and relax.
Or so I thought.
First, I meet the hottest guy in existence, only to have him leave, then I slip on ice and sprain my ankle… oh and there’s a naked man walking into the cabin… in the middle of winter. And what’s with the footprints in the snow and the fake bear ears on the mailbox? And that’s only the beginning…
This is going to be a Christmas to remember.
The Omega's Beary Special Christmas is the second book in the A Bear Under The Christmas Tree shared world by Aria Grace, Lorelei M. Hart, and Colbie Dunbar. It is a sweet with knotty heat mpreg shifter Christmas romance featuring a human omega who fares much better on the water than he does on ice, the alpha bear shifter who immediately recognizes him as his mate, a meddling best friend, one bed, true love, fated mates, snow, Christmas cheer, beary cute presents, an unexpected pregnancy, and an adorable baby.
Colbie’s characters are sexy, hot, adorable - and often filthy - alphas and omegas. They include feudal lords with dark secrets, outrageous aristocrats with scandals buried deep in their past and poverty-stricken gentleman who have gambled away their inheritance.
Lurking in the background are notorious kings, princesses, and courtiers whose opinions change with each whisper in their ear.
And as for Colbie herself? She dictates her steamy stories with a glass of champagne in one hand. Because why not?
Ferris, an omega beachside surfing instructor, agrees to a Christmastime house swap that will take him from his sunny, warm environment to a snow-covered cottage for the holiday season. Alpha bear shifter Hugo injures his ankle before departing for the house swap with Ferris, leading to an unexpected encounter where he scents Ferris as his fated mate. Though Hugo initially struggles to handle the intensity of their connection, circumstances draw them closer, and Ferris finds himself equally intrigued and charmed by Hugo’s warmth. As they get to know one another and things heat up, Ferris and Hugo navigate shifter secrets, holiday magic, and the surprise news of an unexpected pregnancy. With supportive friends by their side, the couple faces each twist with humor and heart, building a life together that brings two worlds—beach and mountains—together. Sweet and steamy shifter-human, Fated mates, MM, Christmastime romance, exploring the joy of finding love, the adventure of starting a family, and creating new traditions in the unexpected places.

This is book 2 in the A Bear Under the Christmas Tree series. Each book is a standalone read. This is the story of Ferris and Hugo. Ferris is an omega and runs a surfing school with his best friend. To shake things up he has signed up for a Christmas house swap. He is heading for a cabin in the snow while Hugo enjoys his beachside home. Hugo is an alpha bear shifter. He is also a bear that doesn't enjoy the cold. Injuring his ankle, he meets Ferris at his house. One scent of Ferris and he knows he has found his fated mate. He doesn't want to leave. And as he is human, Ferris doesn't know about shifters. How can this go wrong? You will have to read the story to find out. The book is easy to read. I didn't enjoy it as much as other books by this author. I found the relationship moved too fast for me. Other insta lust/love readers will have no problem at all.

A house swap, sunny beach with snowy mountains leads to two alpha bear shifters finding their mates. Alpha Hugo lives two doors down from his friend, alpha Hugo. Human omegas Ferris and Charlie live in side by side beach condos, run a surf shop and give lessons. Charlie has never had a white Christmas, hence the swap. Hugo's inner bear is a grumpy, literal minded riot. Their conversations are hilarious and after Hugo flies down to Ferris' beach home, his bear nags him to return north. Stalking leads to Ferris spraining an ankle and a panicky SOS to Charlie. When he arrives, Hector realizes the other omega is his mate. So two matings in one book. Hector and Charlie are secondary characters as Dunbar focuses on Ferris and Hector. The worldbuilding encompasses both beach and mountains. Both couples have some sizzling steam in their relationships. There's humor and passion in the bedroom. Is this Colbie Dunbar's best mpreg yet? Definitely. It's lite and sweet, low angst. A very original plot. A quick, delight to read.

Part of the A Bear Under The Christmas Tree series each reads as a standalone around the holidays where fate steps in ensuring two people meet. Ferris, a human surfer boy, loves his beaches, decides to switch up for the holidays and heads to the snowy mountains while Hugo, a bear shifter who loves his winters, does well during hibernation and wants to experience the beach life. So, they both decide to switch homes for the holidays, but fate has a way of making everything go haywire because everything they planned just doesn’t go as planned. Hugo injures his ankle before departing for the house swap with Ferris, leading to an unexpected encounter where he scents Ferris realizing he is his fated mate and we all know what that means. The pull is instant, it is intense, and their plans change but where are they headed, will he accept all of him, will he understand shifters, and can they find some middle ground considering he is a suffering instructor who breathes the water, the other well lives for the cold is there a middle ground for happiness?
“You alone have to make that decision. Look into your heart, Ferris. No matter how long it takes, I’ll be here. And I’ll accept your decision if I am not enough, if this life is not what you want.”
I enjoyed this book. It was a fun read and this was the first book I've read that happy endings for two different couples- even through Ferris and Hugo were the focus. I loved Charlie and Hector just as much. In chapter four when Charlie barged into the house and he and Hector discovered they were mates was such chaotic fun I was cackling. Poor Ferris was so confused.
'“Will someone tell me what’s going on?” Ferris collapsed into the smaller armchair. “And why is everyone talking about being friends?” He banged a crutch on the floor.'
Ferris- a human omega wit no prior knowledge of shifters- took discovering and learning about shifters fairly well all things considered. Hugo was very sweet and patient. I couldn't get enough of these guys. 5 stars.
The Omega’s Beary Special Christmas is the second book in the ‘A Bear Under The Christmas Tree’ series. It stars, Ferris, a human omega, and Hugo, an Alpha bear shifter. This is told in first person from Ferris and Hugo’s povs.
First the cover. I like it. I think the bear peeking in the window is funny. So far, all the covers in this series are similar in looks except for the poses of the bears and the man inside the house. As for this cover, Ferris is not a big person, so I don’t believe the cover model is Ferris, more like Hugo while he’s in the house. I’m just going with the cover is a mixture of scenes from the story rather than one specific scene.
The blurb gives a super quick rundown of how the story progresses. What it doesn’t do is explain who is speaking which part. The first paragraph is Hugo’s pov. The next full paragraph is Ferris’ pov. The blurb is accurate to what’s in the story. The plot is more in-depth and includes the involvement of Hugo’s best friend Hector, who is also a bear shifter, and Charlie who is Ferris’ best friend and a human. There’s a lot of humor involved and I loved it. The mix-up with the traveling, the meddling from the best friends, and the inner dialogue from Hugo’s bear shifter was hilarious. The inclusion of so much humor worked and the involvement of the best friends kept the pace moving along. This isn’t a long book, but it doesn’t need to be, because the writing team did a good job of filling in the necessary details quick enough so it made sense.
I liked that the authors chose vastly different names for the main characters. It made it much easier to keep them separated. I still would have liked more distinct voices for Hugo and Ferris. Charlie seemed to be the one who had the most distinct voice and mannerisms to me. All the characters were fun.
The scenes flowed well together. The only time I had difficulty figuring out what was happening, was during the pregnancy test scene. The characters all spoke over each other without designations to who was speaking. Maybe that was on purpose to denote the confusing situation, but I found it annoying because I had to go back and read over the previous pages multiple times to understand how the scene was playing out and who was speaking and I still don’t think I figured it out correctly. That scene could have been written a bit better.
Overall The Omega’s Beary Special Christmas is a fast, sweet, fluffy, humorous holiday read with great characters. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys omega-verse, and holiday stories. I give this, 4 Stars.
I wanted to love this story but unfortunately I just couldn't get over the pacing. The whole story felt rushed from the beginning to the end, and the relationship between Hugo and Ferris felt forced and rushed as well. When these two 'got together' is when the steam amped up and that's what the story was full of from that point on.
Don't get me wrong I don't mind steam in books, when people think romance books they think about steamy scenes, but there is a point when it's too much steam. And that's what I feel like happened here, there was just too much focus on the steamy scenes and not enough focus on building up an actual connection and relationship between Hugo and Ferris. I could see where this author was going with this, I just wasn't a fan, unfortunately.
If you like a book full of steam and insta-lust and insta-love, then this might be the book for you!
Ferris and Hugo story was full of laughter, hilarious situations, and many sweet-awkward moments. The moment of truth when the shifter part was revealed, and the mate aspect was bittersweet as some misunderstandings were underfoot, and some discussions misinterpreted. I liked their chemistry, shenanigans, and how their best friends continue to be part of their lives, but also united by a new connection. The missed surprise was kind of endearing, and the ones that followed were quite sweet and thoughtful. I liked the birthing scene, the bundle of joy that joined them, and all the adventures the growing family took part in. It was an enjoyable read, and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next.
"Despite living as part of me, my beast either didn’t understand human conventions or chose not to."
What a cute Christmas story written by Colbie Dunbar. This book is part of a multi-authored series called A Bear Under the Christmas Tree. I can't wait to read the other two books in this series. When I saw this one on Booksprout I knew it sounded like something I would enjoy. This is my second Christmas read this season. I hope the rest are as good.
Fated mates, insta-love, insta-lust, shifter/human, a honey loving bear, found family with best friends, a house swap with unexpected results
What a really cool story, I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Ferris and Hugo and Charlie and Hector. Ferris and Charlie were best friends and had been since they were really young, Charlie had arranged to go to the snow for Christmas and Hugo was renting Charlie’s house while Charlie was living in Hugo‘s house. Little did they know that fate was going to take a hand in their lives. Hugo and Ferris were fated mates. Charlie and Hector were also fated mates. It was a comedy in how their relationship started, and ended in a happily ever after.
I was given an advanced copy of this book to read and I am reviewing with my honest and fair opinion.
A cute, quick read, sweet story with a human surfinstructor/ business owner Ferris who does a houseswap with Hugo, a pr guy who also happens to be a bear swifter who does not like the snow or cold. This is a fated mates insta attraction mpreg story. With a ton of smiles, can do attitude and a hea with 'Little Bear'. Also Charlie and Hugo, the respective best friends, thrown in as another fated couple and bff for both was a fun aside. Another easy book to read when you want or need a quick mm fantasy pick me up. It is part of a multi author series, but the stories can all be read as a standalone.

This was a delightful holiday romance. I liked the concept of switching homes for the holidays. Human Ferris a surfer boy going to the snowy mountains while Hugo, a bear shifter wants to experience the beach life. Plans go terribly wrong when they meet but romance and mating is in the cards for both. A little push/pull miscommunication and hijinks happens throughout their journey to HEA but all in all a very sweet with heat along with comical parts that made this very entertaining. A fun read.

3.5 Very cute Christmas story featuring a human Omega and a bear shifter. This story reminded me a lot of the movie The Holiday, at least in terms of the basic premise. So, if you liked the home/locale switcharoo and you also like Omegaverse and shifters, you will also like this :) It starts off really sweet cute, but then it gets quick steamy and I'm down. The bonus is that each of the MCs has a BFF who also ends up finding his fated mate :)
I received a complimentary copy of this book and this is my honest review.
Nice quick fun holiday story! Ferris, beach boy steps out of his comfort zone for the holidays and swaps for a stay in a winter wonderland. Hugo, is scheduled to spend his holiday at the beach. He, felt the pull when he first saw Ferris. His bear recognized his mate. Human Ferris is immediately attracted when he sees Hugo. Hugo returns and the story devolves into fun getting acquainted and decisions. Nice quick funny story that gives folks adventures and fun. Nicely done. I loved The Omega's Beary Special Christmas Book 2. Ferris is doing a house swop with Hugo for a few weeks. He wants ti experience the snow. Hugo knew with one scent that Ferris was his fated mate. Logistics are a problem, as they live on different coasts and responsibilities. Hugo is willing to change for his mates, maybe he can help him get what he wants, Ferris. This is a short and sweet story, and I loved the story. I would definitely recommend this book and the series.

Red checked robe, toboggan, porridge & honey, "Little Bear", chocolate cake with honey, gummy bears
"The Omega's Beary Special Christmas" is a quick read and full of wonderful characters and scenes. Being a short book, the pace is quick, but satisfying. It checks all the right boxes for a Colbie Dunbar book. There's really no angst. The scenes are fun and heartwarming. Recommended.
The Omega's Beary Special Christmas is the second book in the A Bear Under The Christmas Tree Series. This is a sweet fated mates, close proximity romance. The MCs are adorable together. It was fun watching them find their way to their HEA.

This was second book of the series and was another great addition, I enjoyed Hugo and Ferris’s story which was a quick and easy to read holiday fated mates story and we got the added bonus of seeing both their best friends Hector and Charlie turning out to be fated mates as well. I really liked that Hugo had a bit of a bear and honey obsession. Looking forward to reading book three next.
This is a really cute story about two guys that house swap but the minute they see each other they knew they belonged together. So after paying house they get together and start to work out a relationship with results in an unexpected pregnancy. They admit their love to each other and get married. Very good story.
This was a Beary good read! Loved the relationship development as Ferris and Hugo get to know one another. Plenty of Christmas spirit, humour and heat plus the news of an unexpected pregnancy! Great bunch of secondary characters helped bring this to life!.

Ferris is a human male Omega who lives by the ocean and teaches people how to surf. He decides he wants to take a vacation where there's snow so he does a house swap with Hugo. Unbeknownst to him Hugo is a bear shifter and is also his mate.

Human Ferris has agreed to swap his beach front condo for a snowy cabin in the woods. Bear shifter Hugo’s ready to enjoy the warm sea and sunshine this Christmas, until he realizes Ferris is his fated mate. Enjoy how Hugo and Ferris handle their confusion, joy and delightfully steamy discoveries!!!
Cute story. What a way to meet your fated mate! Lovely characters. I enjoyed them a lot. Their romance was face paced. Their passion and chemistry was high. I loved their dialogue. It was really entertaining.
