Destiny—the place where events are already aligned and will occur for a particular person or thing in the future.
Money. Power. Love. These are the driving forces motivating Spencer “Spyder” Wilson. A man with a plan and with the heart of a lion, he fears nothing while standing on business—a firm believer that a man’s word is his bond and without it, he’s nothing. With his right-hand man, Jay, by his side, he claws his way from the bottom to the top.
Beautiful. Smart. Educated. Destiny and Tyra are not only best friends but are more like sisters. However, their home life is less than desirable, especially after going through hell and back with the women that birthed them. When all hell breaks loose after the girls’ graduation, their summer plans are thrown for a loop, disintegrating right before their eyes. Will they be able to bounce back from the raging storms in their lives?
Fast forward seven years later, life hasn’t gone the way that anybody has planned it. In fact, life has been definitely life-ing. The city of Tampa is about to be completely shaken up while secrets will be hard to remain secrets. In this first installment of this African American urban hood series, Destiny struggles to keep her past and current life separate while Spyder seeks his quest for becoming king of the street throne. Find out what happens with Destiny and Spyder in A Plug’s Destiny by Keyy D.
Keyy D.ok now this is so messy mess right here. Boy I knew Cobra was a different kind of snake. He used people to his advantage and his advantage only. I thought it was something fishy when he got Des. But to play Spider like he did. I can't wait to see what happens next. Is Cobra Dez dad? What is really going on? Can't wait until the next part🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
As young as these kid's were. They were trying to make it without the guidance of any parents or positive role models in their lives. Spyder claimed he looked as Destiny as a sister but I didn't believe that. Destiny definitely had feelings for Spyder but kept them hidden for the sake of their friendship. Spyder and Jay friendship formed in the most unconventional way. The way Spyder took in Jay and his little brother after hearing their story about their parents getting killed in a home invasion knowing he was struggling as well is admirable. With the type of mother's that Destiny and Tyra had. I was glad they were about to escape a life of hell. Lori crack addiction lead to Destiny getting kidnapped. I wasn't surprised who ended up kidnapping Destiny but I knew it was some bs behind it. Spyder, Jay, and Tyra searched for Destiny for year's. Spyder and Jay had no clue that Destiny was still living and somewhere closer than they thought. Cindy was a worse mother than Lori and she wasn't on drugs. The way she abused Tyra physically and verbally was heartbreaking. Cindy also expected Tyra to use her body for monetary gain but Tyra wasn't going for it. Jay being protective of Tyra and learning what she was going through at home. Had Tyra move in with him in Spyder apartment. I know Spyder goal was to become the plug and he did that. When Jay called Cobra a snake. He just don't know how true it was. Cobra was playing Spyder, Jay, and Destiny like pawns in the game. When Cobra offered Spyder a spot on his team and gave him the terms and conditions. One being that Spyder had to marry his daughter and finding out Destiny been working for Cobra all this time protecting his daughter. Showed Cobra knew who all of them was before he approached them. While Cobra was being a snake. His daughter Cami was too. Cami was tired of her father controlling every aspect of her life. She definitely didn't want any parts of the arranged marriage Cobra set up. Cami keeping in touch with her uncle Boa. Told me she knew her father and uncle were at war. Pregnant with the opps baby didn't go well once her father found out. The way this ended. I couldn't do anything but shake my head.
Whew this book was so good! I enjoyed it from beginning to end. Spyder shocked me with how he handled the situation with Jay when they first encountered one another. That day was the day that linked the men forever and a friendship and alliance was formed for life between Jay and Spyder. I loved Jay’s relationship with his little brother JP.
The besties Tyra and Destiny lean on one another always and they both have deadbeat mothers. The way Tyra’s mom treats her is downright despicable. She even wants her daughter to begin sleeping with older men so she can benefit from it. Destiny’s mother is an addict and will do anything to get her fix. Due to her mother’s carelessness and really not giving a care, one day Destiny is kidnapped and help captive for 7 years.
Spyder looks high and low for her but never makes a break through. He makes a deal with Cobra to marry his daughter and become plug. He thinks that this will help him gain enough power to help him find Destiny one day. Ironically Cobra is the one who has saved Destiny from her captors and now she is indebted to him until his daughter Cami is married off and then she will complete her service to Cobra and she will be free to live her life.
Fate would have it that Spyder and Destiny cross paths. But neither will be in for the shock of their lives when they realize Cobra is working with this both!
Cami is playing a dangerous game going behind her father’s back and communicating with her uncle Boa. She knows the men are not good terms after word of Boa’s betrayal to his brother and she is feeding her uncle info.
I love Tyra and Jays love story. They are a beautiful couple and the way she took JP under her wings was everything. The love they share for their daughter Desi and JP is amazing. Even when JP shared his secret with both, nothing changed and the support they showed him was beautiful.
I will be starting part 2 today and I’m excited to see what happens next. Excellent read! Keyy D. always delivers a great read!
This book just got crazy with that cliffhanger. There were so many things that happened in the beginning of this story that I feel like Cobra is behind it all. Destiny ends up missing for 7 years and Spyder, Jay and Tyra had no idea what happened to her. Then Cobra offers Spyder and Jay the deal of a lifetime with the stipulation that Spyder married his daughter in a few years. Then boom Destiny pops up working for Cobra. I don’t know what kind of game Cobra is playing but I can’t wait until he is handled and Destiny and Spyder are able to get their happy ending.
I from Tampa so i wanted to read this so bad. This book was a little hard to get through. The story line could have been great, but i felt it was a lot of holes in the story’s and it could have been written out better. I stopped reading a few times and then would go back and make myself read again. I got to the end and said wtf. The writer didn’t write out the cliffhanger well. It didn’t make me say “Yessssss i gotta read the next book.” It didn’t leave me wanting to know more because she didn’t give enough description or feeling while i was reading the end.
The first couple of chapters were interesting, but after the kidnapping I got bored, disappointed even. I dislike these typical “hood” that everyone is either selling drugs destroying their neighborhood,or the mother is on drugs or a selling their bodies. Just know that Cami and Destiny are siblings. The 7 year work relationship for Sypder doesn’t even make sense…. Very disappointed with the story line.
Oh lord I hope Spyder an Destiny will be ok. I swear Cami is stupid. I hope everything goes good cause they just found each other. I love me some JP an his brother i swear they love story with Tyra is so sweet. Destiny an Tyra moms needed to be dropped in the lake when they was younger. I cant wait for book 2.
Destiny and Tyra was definitely dealt a bad hand...Spider & Jay was definitely life savers for these girls...Jay's love and understanding for JP is awesome...Cami is giving me selfish with how she's handler situation
Now this read Definitely have a lot of twist and turns that I have never Experienced reading before, It's just so much going on at 1 time But I'm all in. Kudos to the author I'm on to the Follow up
This book damn there gave me an anxiety attack. It was too much waiting. But the storyline came together. It ended so crazy I can’t wait for the next book.
Wow .. I can’t wait to read part 2 Cobra have some explaining to do! 7 years is a long time to take for training that sounds like manipulation and stimulations.
Come on now wanted to have to end like that! Camila is really the snake? I’m trying to figure all this out. And how in the world did Destiny get kidnapped and seven years later her and Spyder working for the same man? I’m loving it
The foursome had terrible childhoods and made decisions for a better life… still unknown if that’s a good or bad thing!! Everyone is more involved than they know…Thanks to Cobra The cliffhanger is begging for continuation and I’m sooooo ready
