The book encompasses a comprehensive overview of the book publishing industry, an elaborate description of the editing techniques, editing methods for distinct domains of writing, the range of copyediting services and the impact of artificial intelligence in the editing world.

The book begins with the processes involved in transforming a raw manuscript into a well-crafted book. It makes the daunting task of understanding the industry simple for the aspirants.

The symbiotic relationship between human intelligence and technology is the crux of the next part. Viewing the relationship through the lens of mutualism rather than parasitism, individuals will realize that technology is essential to thrive. Expertly written chapters serve as a hands-on guide for the editing software, with price considerations included, to help readers make informed choices.

The subsequent part sheds light on the crucial role of effective editing in preserving the legacy of cultural heritage through translation in multiple languages. The use of female pronouns in the narration draws the reader’s attention towards the inclusivity of female professionals in the industry. Authors are transparent about the capitalistic nature of the profession and guide to situations of underpayment and impractical expectations.

The book underlines the importance of small book components and their potential to become valuable niches. It also examines the booming market of audiovisual translation in the fourth part.

The exceptionally good application of SWOT analysis indicates that the publishing industry is a serious business and has a high impact on the country’s job economy. Readers will be intrigued to learn, how India leveraged its skilled workforce, provided cost-effective and innovative solutions to address anticipated future market needs and dominated the global market.

In the concluding section shortcomings of Artificial Intelligence are proved by challenging it with master literary pieces and is made clear that though powerful and disruptive it still has a long way to replace the human touch.

Well, I must say the book lives up to its title which is “A CLOSER LOOK” and deserves a special place on your bookshelf!
