Everyone needs someone in their life either like Kalyani's grandma or Kalyani's cousin! lol they were a delight. I love the family, celebration and true to its title the sparks within this story. This might be something I read every holiday. Beautiful debut!

holiday snack

I really enjoyed this holiday novella . Kalyani snd Aeson were so cute together and I enjoyed the insta live . Lucas was trifling . Dena was my favorite. This definitely gave cozy , small and found family vibes . This was really good especially for a debut. I will be reading more from her .

If you are looking for a cute love story with a sprinkle of conflict, this is a good one to pick up. It's a quick novella with a happy ending. For this to be the authors first book, (IMO) she did a great job! I will definitely be looking out for more of her work.

Kali and Aeson were perfection. I loved every moment of their love story. Watching Kali struggle with receiving the love that she deserved after being emotionally abused in her last relationship saddened me. I'm glad she had folks around her to talk some sense into her. Aeson was the man she needed. I love it when a man who knows what he wants and is willing to go at whatever pace she needs him to. I can't wait to see which other family members get stories as they were entertaining in this first book.

This story is full of laughter, family, roots, and bonds. It's a sweet sexy story that uplifts, inspires, and celebrates love, raw truth and honesty and perfectly blends in music and poetry therapeutically and metaphorically.

I think Aeson is the hero, the shield, the rock, the friend who creates a safe haven for her. He's the missing puzzle piece that makes her feel seen, cherished and valued, matching Kaylani's vibe from the first lusting eye drool. Who wouldn't be, the man is chocolate fine and knows what and who he wants!

The author beautifully paints Kaylani's journey through brokenness, heartbreak, struggles, and battling inner demons leading down a path of self doubt, until Aeson’s admiration paves the way for accepting genuine realness caring for her well-being opens her eyes to who she truly is.

A heartwarming romance that captured my heart throughout and will left me swooning, daydreaming, wishing for that magical kind of love!

swoon worthy

This book gave me all the feels!!!!! From the moment A&K met, I couldn’t wait to see how it unfolded. I loved watching their bond grow and seeing her pour into herself while allowing him to pour into her. I found my self smiling just from their interactions…but also, this book is hella funny. Between K’s cousin and her grandma, I was cracking up. This is a must read and I can’t wait to see what Juri does next….it better be the follow up to this story cause I’m hooked!!!

This was such a great insta-love, he falls first, black love story! Juri Hines did such a wonderful job in her debut novel and I truly enjoyed Kalyani and Aeson's story. These two were destined to be. It shows you how a person's outlook on life can change in just one day. When you allow the right person to love you, it can change your world. There were so many emotional moments for me while reading...from feeling sad when learning about Kalyani's past, to laughing up a storm whenever Zena was in the room, to just overall joy at watching how Aeson loved, adored, and took care of Kalyani, not only in a physical sense but also mentally. He really built her up after she was broken down by her ex. This was such a beautiful love story!

Love Love Love Love Love this book

My kindle is on 99 percent and I am truly upset because I didn’t want the story to end . I laughed and I cried because I could truly relate to Kalyani and the need to heal after a bad relationship. I am glad she found a man that was willing to love her and help her through her healing journey. I hope this isn’t the end of her journey because sis got a ring!!!!!! I also find a new book boyfriend to add to my growing list!!!!!!
