Freedom Waymon and Ifeanyi Bello are both on the path of healing, each carrying the weight of shattered hearts and lost love.
Freedom, a recent divorcee, is scarred by the emotional and mental abuse inflicted by her ex-husband. Her self-confidence is fragile, often overshadowed by her perceived flaws of her plus-size body. This vulnerability starkly contrasts with Ifeanyi's strong, confident demeanor.
Ifeanyi, a widower, immerses himself in his work as an engineer to navigate his grief and fill the void left by his late wife. Despite his pain, he longs for the freedom to love again fully.
Determined to make her mark in the male-dominated construction industry, Freedom faces an uphill battle. On the other hand, Ifeanyi is convinced that Freedom is responsible for the unethical practices that led to his company's misfortunes and views her with disdain. Their mutual animosity is unmistakable, and they seem destined to be eternal enemies.
But fate intervenes with a sudden storm that will challenge their beliefs. Will they weather the tempest together, becoming each other's shelter, offering safety and hope, or will their brokenness keep them apart?
How would you feel if you overhear your husband of 10 years on the phone talking about you taking the fall if his underhanded dealings of a company you share are found out? Then, after the phone call you hear him being pleasured by his assistant 🥴🤔🫣😬😤😡!!
Welp, that’s how we are introduced to Freedom Waymon. Years after her divorce she attends a conference & runs into the man who owns the company that was being affected by her ex husband’s shady dealings, Mr. Ifeanyi Bello & they can’t stand each other in the beginning! However, this story blossoms into something soooooo beautiful!!! I enjoyed every minute of it & it could have easily been longer!!!
this story starts off with betrayal, lies and heartache but it ends in healing and love. Freedom is a successful, successful and beautiful plus size woman who is unfortunately married to a shitty ass man. Free is the president and CEO of her construction company JGB who she shares with her husband *Jones*. rival construction BBC owned by Ifeanyi (YI) who has been vandalized by Jones in order for his construction to pick up their failed contracts. Yi has beef with Free due to thinking it was her all behind the damage …
Freedom is turning 45 and planning a girls trip. During her trip there are unruly circumstances that happen, which causes freedom having to bunker in the rental next-door .. she soon discovered she has a bunker mate IFEANYI the one man she can’t stand but secretly enjoys his presence. While bunkering and spending their trip alone they began exploring each other & building a beautiful bond with each other. Free is giving Yi the comfortability to be open & vulnerable. Losing her confidence hasn’t been easy but the way Yi is making it so much easier for her to gain it back!
Throughout their love story he does nothing but speak life and love into her and that’s been doing it for me !! Reading this story I appreciated & loved the fact that as a fellow big bawdy we had perfect representation and using real life scenarios that we go through.
Now the spice was mild but appreciated. The tension build up for the few scenes were beautiful and had me blushing. Although I do love the pace and length of this book, I would have loved some more but I loved this story and would recommend!!
M.K. Seven wrote a book that had me flipping pages and fanning myself! It is definitely hotter than July! It's been awhile since I truly escaped into a story that had my full attention. I read the book in less than 24 hours with a smile on my face thinking about the characters and when I can get my hand on Seven's next book. Wanna get away? Read Freedom is Mine!
MK Seven did a phenomenal job of illustrating the interactions and inner workings of the characters. I loved the healing with a touch of spice flavor that was added. I was cheering on the characters and their love matches. MK wrote in a relatable way that made me feel all the emotions. Hopefully there will be more to come from MK.
