— It’s Jay’s birthday in less than a week. I’ve tried to plan something behind his back, but he’s smarter than that. If he finds out, I’m toast. The things he’s capable of doing to me would have me confessing in seconds.
He’s been different lately. —A bit unhinged if you ask me.
But I’ve been craving more. So much more. —It’s all I can think about. He says anything more than our arrangement would be complicated… For who?
—Jay I’m addicted to her. If anyone ever tells you that men don’t get butterflies—they’re lying.
I think she’s well aware of the fact that I don’t actually track her results anymore. We’re past the reviews.
I can’t deny the chemistry. I’ve never felt this way about someone before… —But what happens once we ‘label’ this? I would have reveal things about me that she might not understand. Am I prepared for that?
Is she?

Licia Dawn is a Canadian Indie Author that has decided to use books as her daily dose of therapy. She’s an introverted social butterfly who loves to engage online as much as she can.
You definitely need to read the first book for understanding the dynamic between Gwen and Jay!
Great plot, the spice was freaking awesome and I loved the fast burn and the close proximity only enhanced their chemistry and I live for it!
Definitely recommend if you want to read something spicy and something fast like this duet novella ❤️
The only thing that bothered me, is the best friend. The fight was never resolved and there was no talk between them but that wasn’t really relevant for the story, so wasn’t that big of a deal.
I loved this short story. I found Licia Dawn through a Facebook book group and reached out to her about becoming a ARC reader for this read and she was so kind enough to send it over to me in no time! As well as the KU link to Roommates With Benefits (book 1). I definitely recommend this kinky, spicy, short read. I couldn't put it down. WE, THE PEOPLE NEED MORE LICIA DAWN! 🌶️
Forced proximity, fast burn, spicy. Having read the first book you understand the dynamic and where everything fits. I enjoyed and was a really quick read
Okay so I did not know this was a shot book series, so I just read it because on my TBR list for last month to read but I did not get a chance to read this book and let me tell you this book is very spicy and I freaking love it like they both started to have feelings for each other but did not want to act on it because they were afraid of what do their friendship and did want to stop being friends and also they live together and work together so they had a lot to lose if someone happen and they did not work out together. But it did work and it the perfect little, short story that I had read and got engaged at the end it was perfect I can't wait to see what happen next with these too.

If there’s one thing Licia Dawn knows how to do, it’s write spice!!!! Often spice in books can be really cringey but it’s definitely not the case here. There is also plenty of plot and it’s not just spice for the sake of spice.
There was one thing I wasn’t such a fan of in this book. Throughout book 1 and a lot of this one consent has been an important running theme and honestly really nice to see in a book. At one point Jay touches Gwen when he thinks she’s asleep and that just seems very out of character for Jay and very icky!
We get to see the friendship between Gwen and Mila blossom and it’s really nice to witness. It’s one of those zero judgement strong friendships that are just born out of nowhere. We learn a little about Gwens previous Jenn falling out with her but it feels a bit out of place in the story and it feels like it was not really necessary for the story but perhaps we get to see more in the next book.
Well that was the ending we needed after the cliffhanger of Roommates w Benefits
They’re back! Jay and Gwen return for another quick read spicy novel. This book tied up the whole duet fittingly.
Jay and Gwen are definitely continuing the business arrangement from book one but continuing feelings from both ends has complicated things a bit.
Then Gwen and Mila decide to organise a surprise birthday party for Jay. Will he be thankful? Will that make him see that he means more to her than he realises??? Will he open up???
Gwen is just as confused as Jay. It was only supposed to be an arrangement she wasn’t supposed to catch feelings. Can they continue their arrangement or will this secret hurt them??
Get ready for more banter, more teasing, more hidden truths and definitely more spicy scenes as these two try to navigate through their feelings.
The only thing left unresolved was Jenn and Gwen’s fight but doesn’t really add or take away from story.
An unwanted surprise party opens the doors to more
Gwen loves the way her life has been going. She no longer has to work at that terrible coffee shop and she is still enjoying her "job" with Jay.
Now it's her chance to plan a surprise birthday party for him. Will her and Mila be able to pull it off or will everything get spoiled or worse cancelled?
Will Gwen be able to deal with the fact that she is really wanting more with Jay but is both scared and worried by those thoughts. They have been playing on a knifes edge and someone just might get hurt.
This book is spicier than the first though it does take a bit to get to the good stuff. I enjoyed the banter and sexual tension leading up to the party and all the stuff that went along with it.
If you thought the last book wasn't spicy enough, then Dawn came back with all the spice. I'd rate the spice 3/5, only because we don't get much PIV until later chapters. Because this was such a short read, I can't say much without giving spoilers away, but Jay definitely made Gwen think twice about keeping secrets from him. I still felt like he was still an enigma and their relationship could use more development, but that would've made this story much longer, so for what it was, I enjoyed our return into the sneak peek of Jay and Gwen. I hope the author decides to give us more bread crumbs into their life with all the spice.
Caveat: This book is second in this series. You definitely need to read the first book to appreciate the second one.
I always approach reading a new book with an open mind. If the author can reveal a new approach or idea, then. I’m all in.
I loved this book. A modern day somewhat spicy, daring romance novella. You can’t help but get interested in the main characters. If you like a shorter book to read without glazing over then this is for you. Easy to read and enjoyable.
My only complaint… I would’ve loved a much longer story.I felt like I there’s a huge story waiting to be told. Who knows, maybe we’ll get more of this couple. Yay for Gwen and Jay!
I really loved to revisit Jay and Gwen! The spice was again top notch! I mean…wowza 😏 The only two things that made me deduce half a star were:
1. the one scene without consent (Gwen „asleep“). After being so wonderfully with it being consensual the whole time this one scene felt out of place for me and it‘s just nope
2. the whole Jenn situation. It came out of nowhere and has not been resolved at the end. I would have been happy with it being left out tbh. Give me all the spice and leave the rest out of it 😉
Other than that…please continue with these shorts. I would like to read more about Jay and Gwen and their shenanigans in the bed, the forrest or wherever….
I read this book in one sitting. It is a very easy afternoon read that will leave you "hot and bothered" 😀. I love the amount of spice it has. Even though it's filled to the brim with spice I wanted more. The way the author described how Jay was feeling during their scenes was a wonderful bonus (it's nice to get a males perspective).
I would love to see a book 3 that is longer and with more background stories and background spice.
Only thing I didn't care for is the stuttering. It didn't seem natural. I feel guilty typing that because this was a fabulous read! Kudos!
I read "Shared Spaces" backward––what else is new? It worked out fine for me. Gwen and Jay are roommates/more than roommates. Jay is described as the nerdy type but a d0m. During their time together, Gwen can tell that Jay is holding back or at least not sharing a side of him with her. Jay has a side to him that he is keeping from Gwen, and that is about to come out amid the planning of his birthday celebration.
Things kicked into high gear involving spice and relationship development—all in a quick 111-page story and a sweet ending.
Jay and Gwen are back and hotter than ever! I love this fast-paced hilarious spicy novella. It was a great read, and the spicy scenes were well done and not over the top which I appreciate. I loved the comedy and shenanigans the two got into. My one question for Licia is...do you hate pickles or is that just some genuinely good writing because the way she describes Gwen's hate for pickles had me laughing. Chapter 19/29 transition if you know you know that had me giggling so hard. I cannot wait for book 3. Thank you so much for writing this hilarious spicy gem.
The story is short, steamy and romantic. The story continues sometime after the end of Book 1. It is fast paced with great chemistry between the characters and steam which will be liked the readers. It is a highly recommended book for readers who like this genre.
Personal Take: This was such a fun novella duet. I loved both the characters and was frustrated with FMC’s former best friend. I loved the overall plot and I hope the author comes up with more stories like this.
Licia Dawn delivered a helluva lot more this time around, and definitely brought the steam, not to mention the "kinks". Watching Gwen and Jay's fighting a relationship was pure torture - in the best way possible. The tension was crazy and I was hooked. The characters antics were just hilarious and the side characters stole the show. That ending? Absolutely precious. I'm a sucker for a good HEA. Now onto the next installment..
I’m glad that I was able to get more of Gwen & Jay. The fact that we see more of Mila was also a good addition too.
This book was so good and made me read it in one sitting because I wanted to know Jay’s reactions. The super slow burn between them actually hooking up was there but when things took a turn it was worth the wait.
I loved the ending of the book and am ready to see where their journey takes them next!
Loved! Loved! Loved! This second book was absolutely chefs kiss! The first book Roommates with Benefits reels you in and this book seals it all together. It is a short read but so beautifully written. I can not wait to read more books from this author. If you have not read her books, run and get them.
This woman knows how to write erotic romance. I swear everything she writes just hits the spot. This book is part 2 of a duet, so if you haven’t read book 1, go and do that now! We leave off with our FMC working for her roommate, helping him to test out certain toys. And in this part we find out if they end up together or just stay friends.
I really enjoyed the multiple POV! And if you're looking for a book with complete spice🌶🌶🤤🌶this is it! Two roommates that can't fight the attraction they feel for each other..and finally when they cave..its hot and steamy!!
Continuation of book one. Does have a time skip of a few months so we miss some events. Doesn't feel quite as intense as the first book because it focuses more on the love story. Has a beautiful ending and continues to keep you invested in the story line until it ends. Love the kink!
Gwen and Jay are back! You must read Roommate with benefits before reading shared spaces to understand the characters and relationships because it just picks up around the time the first book left off.
Super cute novella!! Definitely need to read the first book but was a nice fast spicy read. Gave more depth into Gwen and Jay’s relationship which was a must!!! Definitely looking forward to more of their story!!
Like spice? Like a nice quick read? Maybe a palette cleanser between longer reads? Shared spaces is it for you! This is the second book so definitely read Roommates with Benefits first to get some of Jay and Gwen’s background.

I was a tad bit lost from where book one left off and where book two started, but I quickly worked my way back. Shared Spaces was a little more plot this time with just as much spice. I enjoyed watching Gwen and Jay’s situationship developing and the push and pull they both had with each other. Plus I love some good pining… and punishment… The character dynamics in this one was super cute and I just loved the side characters! The tension between would they and wouldn’t they while still continuing their spicy ‘acts’ together always had me wanting to know what was going to happen next. And the ending!!! Ughhh it was so damn cute!! I just love a HEA!!
3.5 ⭐ The spice and story were good - rushed, but what do you expect when it's only 100 pages? The only reason I didn't give it four stars is the whole bit with Gwen's ex-bff. It seemed relevant to the story and then just suddenly wasn't talked about again.
