Passage to Niburu is the first book of a set of two. The story starts on Earth, with a number of very strange and apparently unrelated abductions. All the abductees are brought together and blasted into space, on the way to a moon station. When they are threatened by a missile, things become precarious for the crew of the moon-shuttle and interesting for the reader. A lieutenant who is not who he claims to be is a bonus to the perils of the people on board.

If you like fast-paced action, diverse characters and interesting creatures that not only come from outer space, true science, witty quips and also ethical questions, then Passage to Niburu is the book for you. It is followed by the book Rise of the Chimera (of which a review will follow as soon as I have read it).

This book is a fast paced adventure where an unlikely band of humans escape apocalyptic devastation on Earth only to crash land on the mysterious planet of Niburu… in the middle of an alien war. Interesting characters (a mind reading wolf-dog and his teenage femme fatal assassin partner, a foul mouthed disgraced fighter pilot and his wisecracking robotic copilot, a genetic scientist with a broken ethical compass and a nerdy teenage college professor that invents all manner of bizarre gadgets) are faced with the never-ending challenges where an alliance with rebellious bioengineered mutants seem to be the only path to survival. A fun read.

Very entertaining! I loved the ensemble cast and story lines of different groups of characters which are woven together. There's humour, adventure, romance, as well as a mix of fantastic yet realistic science with Native American mythology. It all leaves me wanting to know what happens next, so I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
