A fake engagement unites them…but is it enough to save them?
SORCHA

I’ve fought tooth and nail to enter the ranks of knighthood. I deserve to be there. But as a princess, the only place I’m allowed is the training yard.

That is until our enemy, Grand Clarak Zarios of Valcor, shows up with an opportunity to save the entire nation from someone in his court trying to dethrone him. It's just what I need to prove my worth.

The catch…I need to pretend to be his intended mate to do it. It begins to seem impossible, especially with new court rules to follow and a grumpy minotaur as a partner.

But this is my one chance, and I won’t let anything stand in my way.

ZARIOS

Everyday it feels as if all I’m doing is putting out fires. Between push back from my own people to traitors in my kingdom, it feels as though everyone is keen to see me fall.

It feels hopeless until I meet Sorcha Yulean, second in line for the throne. With her by my side, fake intended or not, I see the light at the end of the tunnel.

This is my last chance to save my kingdom, and my crown, nothing can get in the way.
Not even my budding feelings for the princess.

A Yulean Sister’s Guide to Getting Married is a fantasy monster romance between a stubborn princess who wishes to be a knight and a grumpy minotaur finding love in a fake arrangement. This book is a standalone and does not need to be read in order! This book is spicy, low-angst, with a well deserved HEA!

Dnf. Read until 25% then skipped through chapters until 75%.
There was nothing wrong with the writing but the FMC was human and MMC was a minotaur. The only human-like parts of his body were his hands. Even the cover depicts his face like that of a bull, snout and all. I had a hard time picturing him in my mind as appealing and their connection as romantic. Once they started kissing it just didn't work for me anymore.

I'm too vegan it seems.. bad human, let the cattle alone, lol.

5 ⭐️ This was amazing! A Yulean Sisters Guide to Getting Married by L.E. Eldridge was a fantastic romantasy that I had a great time with! We follow Princess Sorcha and Grand Clarak Zarios as they have to work together as allies to save the kingdom from an unknown enemy. As they are forced to stay together and fake their relationship, real tension and attraction starts to blossom. This great fantasy story was exciting and action-packed, but also very sweet and funny. The MC's have great banter together, and their characters have depth and I fell in love with both Sorcha and Zarios. The side characters are also very well written, and non of them felt as an afterthought - everyone was important for the story. The worldbuilding made me feel like I was in the story and I could easily place myself in the story as I was reading.

I think this is a must read for everyone that loves romantasy with an awsome, badass FMC, lots of fun bantering, cute tails swishing everywhere, *one bed*, an exciting mystery and an overall very entertaining and fun time! I hope we will get more from this universe and read the stories of the Yulean-sisters.

A huge thank you to L.E. Eldridge for giving me an ARC for this great story! 🖤

A new fantasy series from the gorgeous mind of L.E. Eldridge. A Yulean Sisters Guide to Getting Married is full of fantasy, world building, conflict, fake engagement, sword play as foreplay, one bed and two grumps who avoid their feelings and have something to prove. Princess Sorcha is a force to be reckoned with. An aspiring Knight she has everything to prove she is more than just her royal title. Zarios Has a lot to prove as well. A mission he will need help with to find where the betray lies in the kingdoms. Their chemistry is EVERYTHING. It's so delicious. The tension-whewwww. I love that Zarios appreciated Sorcha's personality and didn't try to change her in any way, but embraced her fierceness and encouraged her to achieve her dreams. Zarios, don't even get me started on Zarios. *heavy panting & drooling* one of my favorite minotaur reads yet and I cannot wait for the other sisters' stories.

A princess training as a knight and a minotaur king walk into the woods and come out fake engaged to stop an evil plot.

I simply did not vibe with this story. I don't know if it was the middle grade writing style, the bad editing, the lack of chemistry, or the anachronisms and inconsistent world-building that threw me off the most - but I skimmed 90% of the book just to get through it. And the fact that I could skim that much of it and still understand the story is *not great.* The plot itself is light, which would be okay if the romance was decent. But there is absolutely no real chemistry between our FMC and MMC. It takes our FMC 2 seconds to go from "loathe this hot minotaur" to "actually I trust him entirely." There is no tension in this book that promises tension. And I feel like the mcs never get truly vulnerable with each other. As for the overall conflict, *spoiler* but it's solved with Scooby Doo logic where the villain is caught talking out loud about his evil plans.

I hate giving indie authors low ratings, but I value giving honest reviews.

I flew through this book and I am not mad about it.

Zarios, the minotaur Grand Clarak, visited the kingdom of Princess Sorcha to investigate the stealings/ambushed of their shipments. There's a traitor among the Grand Clarak but he can't openly investigate without the help of the princess. Sorcha wanted a knight for so long and she wanted to prove herself so people would stop looking at her as she's just a pretty princess. A fake engagement was made between the two of them and they embarked on a journey to find out the truth.

First of all, the cover really does caught my eyes. Look at Zarios with his bangs! Lol. Second, I didn't expect to read this in one sitting. It's cozy fantasy, but it's very predictable yet action-packed that I didn't mind that there's not much world-building or anything.

I love both characters. I love that they were both adults and just know how to communicate with each other even though they were barely acquaintances in the first place. I love the world and the whole politics, I love the vibes, I love the side characters and I am so intrigued with Sage and Sybil.

This started out a bit slow for me but once the story got started I absolutely loved this.

Reluctant allies band together to discover what is happening to missing shipments. As they tour the area to show her off as his intended, they discover the secrets and betrayal going on around them. Plenty of forced proximity and spicy scenes.

Small Business BookTok ARC Reviews: “A Yulean Sister's Guide to Getting Married ” by LE Eldridge

Note: This ARC was given to me for free by the author and I am reviewing this book voluntarily.

Princess Sorcha's lifelong dream has always been to become a knight, but she's never been given the opportunity, and even raising the question has always been considered taboo in her kingdom. When Zarios, a Grand Clarak of a neighboring kingdom, proposes a fake engagement in exchange for the opportunity to become a knight, the bargain seems too good to be true! Can this royal ruse help fulfill the goals of this unexpected duo, or will this arrangement lead to something more than swordplay?

From the author of the “Trapped with a Monster” series, L.E. Eldridge introduces us to the fantastical, adventurous world that marks the first installment of the “Yulean Sister” series! The world-building in this narrative is guaranteed to be a treat, offering a spicy, Disney-esque monster romance with just a dash of knightly action. Eldridge also incorporates an important lesson on the value of surrounding yourself with individuals who will help you embrace and reach your goals rather than taking you for granted and pressuring you to limit your horizons. This is highlighted in the chemistry between Sorcha and the lovable Minotaur Zarios, as they complement each other's goals. While Sorcha wants to be a knight to fend for herself and protect her kingdom despite her parents’ disapproval, Zarios loves and embraces Sorcha for her spark and inner strength, supporting and encouraging her to fulfill her dream—even to the point of giving her fencing lessons! If you're looking for a read reminiscent of Disney and C.M. Nascosta, don’t miss out on this book when it hits online shelves on September 19, 2024!

If you’re a fan of the fake marriage trope, then this book is a must-read that will sweep you off your feet. This delightful romance is a masterclass in fun, engaging writing and will have you devouring every page in no time.

From the moment I started reading, the chemistry between the main characters was palpable. The romantic tension was expertly crafted, building to a crescendo that had me on the edge of my seat. The sparks between them were not only fiery but also deliciously spiced with just the right hint of kink. This book doesn’t shy away from exploring intimate moments, and it does so with a finesse that enhances the overall story rather than overwhelming it.

What truly sets this book apart is the character chemistry. The FMC is a standout – she’s fiercely independent, capable, and more than able to handle herself, which makes for a refreshing and empowering read. Her dynamic with the MMC is electric, and their banter is a highlight of the book. The way they spar with each other feels like foreplay, creating a delightful push-and-pull that kept me hooked.

The dialogue throughout is sharp and full of excellent banter that had me laughing out loud. The playful exchanges between the characters are not only entertaining but also serve to deepen their relationship in a way that feels authentic and engaging.

Another noteworthy aspect is the unexpected twist. I genuinely did not see it coming, which added an extra layer of intrigue and excitement to the story. The surprise element was seamlessly woven into the plot, enhancing the overall narrative and keeping me fully invested until the very end.

In summary, "A Yulean Sisters Guide to Getting Married" is a fun, fast-paced read with a perfect blend of romantic tension, spice, and character chemistry. If you’re looking for a book that offers a satisfying fake marriage trope with a side of excellent banter and a few surprises, then this one should definitely be on your radar.

A badass FMC, a broody but flirty Minotaur, fighting as a love language, and fake dating is certainly a recipe to entertain the hell out of me!

It was super easy to read and definitely a sweet and spicy romance. The plot is super simple and easy to anticipate but interesting to follow.

An action-packed and steamy romantasy with fascinating world-building and loveable characters! Sorcha is phenomenal and fierce female lead. Zarios is overprotective and possessive, but supports her when it matters and doesn’t stand in the way of her dreams. We love to see healthy, open communication between a leading couple! Both the lead and side characters are wonderfully written. I couldn’t wait to see where the story went next. Hope to see more of this world soon!

Monster romance books are EVERYTHING and L.E. Eldridge knows exactly how to write one. I was given the ARC for this book, and I absolutely loved it from start to finish.

I adored the relationship that grew between Zarios and Sorcha. They have great banter and oh how I wish I could be a fly on the wall during their spicy scenes 🔥🔥🔥❤️‍🔥

Sorcha is such a strong badass FMC who has fought hard to enter the ranks of knighthood. But because she is a princess, she is only able to be in the training yard. She agrees to a fake relationship with Zarios to save the entire nation and prove her worth. As their mission to save the nation progresses, Zarios feelings for Sorcha grow and he finds out he has traitors within his own kingdom.

I don’t read a lot of fantasy books but sometimes it is nice to change genre when the book is as nice of a read as this one!

The banter and warmth between Zarios and Sorcha is adorable and I loved how it made sense how their feelings grew for each other, it didn’t feel rushed or pushed. It was well written and the world felt real and tangible, I could imagine myself living there.

I loved the plot twist at the end!

Gleeful Goblin Review: I loved so much of this story but I gotta say that one of the best ways to start monster fudger romances are great content warning/notes and this author does such an incredible job with that. I knew what to expect and that's always great for me because it makes me excited for steamy times but also gives me a heads up about stuff like non main characters having SUD history or m¡sogyny (which I was thrilled to see in content warnings).

When I got into the meat of the story I was also thrilled to see LGBTQIA+ representation that was so normalized in this world that it made my heart sing. It's always so lovely to see representation in different settings such as high fantasy monster romance like this. I adored the family dynamics in play and really appreciated the showcasing of healthy family dynamics without needing to be a "perfect family".

The interactions between Zarios and Sorcha are so utterly charming. I felt like it was a perfect blend of having Sorcha feel SEEN for the first time and Zarios to feel challenged by and well matched at the same time by Sorcha. Having Sorcha be a princess but also a knight was so much fun not just in this story but because in a way she reminds me of Alana from the Song of the Lioness Quartet by Tamora Pierce, one of my all time favorite series from childhood. But of course Sorcha (and Zarios) are all grown up and this is definitely not a YA book in the best way. We get to see Sorcha especially go through what I think is a tremendous amount of growth and maturing over the course of this book. She's a princess who is also a knight but up to meeting Zarios she's untested. I loved seeing her path out of the last vestiges of young adulthood and into true mature adulthood. At the same time, I feel like Sorcha brought joy, partnership, and love into Zarios' life. These two are an example of the phrase "Steel sharpens steel." in my opinion and I couldn't be happier. 5/5 Stars

Perfect if you love:
- Minotaur MMC
- Fantasy Monster Romance
- Fake Engagement
- Only One Bed Lots of Times
- Badass FMC
- Bondage
- Swordfighting as Foreplay
- Grumpy/Grumpy

She just wants her freedom, he just wants answers, together under the guise of a fake engagement these two characters, both with grumpy energy, might just find something else in each other. If you're looking for a book that very much gives a blend of knighthood and a fake engagement that turns into something more, all rolled into a fantasy monster romance, then look no further.

Sorcha and Zarios both give off so much grumpy energy, this naturally means that any interaction between them, especially in the initial stages of the story, is both frustrating and hilarious with copious amount of banter. The character development for both our main characters is definitely there, especially when I say they start off wanting one thing and end up wanting something very different.

I loved the tale and how this book takes us on a journey through different aspects of this realm. I did feel like the book was predictable in a sense, but I enjoyed that. It allowed me to just go along for the ride.

The spice in the book was great and perfect. If you're a fan of monster romance, I will definitely be picking up the next book in the series as soon as I can!

A Yulean Sisters Guide to Getting Married is a cozy monster romance, fantasy read! With tropes like one bed, HEA, grumpy x grumpy, miscommunication, and fake engagement, this book is lighthearted and fun to immerse yourself in.

This is my first time reading from L.E. Eldridge and it definitely won't be my last! I fell in love with the characters, storyline, and realm instantly. Sorcha is a badass human FMC. Although she's a princess, she dreams of becoming a knight. She's stubborn, strong-willed, and smart. Zarios is our minotaur MMC. He is the equivalent of a king in his land. While he's a cuddly fur ball with a breeding kink behind closed doors, Zarios maintains a dominating, strong public presence.

They begin their quest together as business partners, but things quickly take a turn towards a slow burn romantic relationship. When the spice hits, she's SPICY. Oh...and did I mention...Zarios is pierced?

There's a few different lands mentioned in the book, each with vastly different human, monster, and supernatural populations. L.E. Eldridge has left lots of room for expansion in this series. I am super excited to see more of the Yulean Sisters and where they find love next.

Overall, I really loved reading this book! I finished it in one sitting. There's themes of freedom, love, mystery, and political intrigue throughout these pages. I highly recommend giving A Yuling Sisters Guide to Getting Married a try, especially if you love fake dating and monster romance!

Thank you L.E. Eldridge for gifting me an ARC!

Sorcha is a strong female character who wants to pave her own way and be accepted by her family as a knight, but they keep shutting her down! Meanwhile, Zarios is a Grand Clarak of the minotaurs trying to figure out why his shipments of magestones from Peradona keep disappearing on a road only known to a select few.
Upon meeting in Peradona with Sorcha's mothers, Zarios and Sorcha strike a deal for a fake engagement to their mutual benefit: He finds the culprit among the few royals who know the road, and she proves herself as a knight. Win-win.
I love how Zarios never tries to change Sorcha and accepts her strong, independent personality and even encourages it. He balances her out. And with this, a bit of a slow-burn romance forms between them. I liked the tension that slowly built between them and how they both had to come to terms with their feelings and communicate them.
I am also a sucker for a strong female character who doesn't need someone else just to shine. Sorcha is an equal to Zarios and stands on her own, but she slowly allows Zarios in and is able to be vulnerable too.
The plot twist was executed nicely but felt a little too predictable with the setup given. Not only that, but one element just felt too non-conforming in that whole ordeal. But no spoilers here!!!
Personally, I would have enjoyed a little more build-up, but overall, I enjoyed this and the characters. Plus, the spice was a nice cherry on top.

I always enjoy a medieval fantasy setting; it's one of my preferences. In this story, we have Zarios, who has a problem with some lost shipments and needs to find the culprit. He visits the neighboring kingdom and meets an interesting princess who does everything to become a knight. He is so intrigued by her that he decides to propose a deal for a fake engagement so they can both get what they need. Sorcha needs to prove to her family that she is worthy of becoming a knight, and Zarios needs to find the culprit behind the missing ships.

I enjoyed the setting in which the story unfolds, the world-building, the fake engagement, the fantasy, the creatures, and the plot twist—it was a great start to a new world. The tension between the two characters was simply delicious; neither wanted to admit they desired each other. Yet, Zarios was the first to fall for Sorcha. The great Minotaur has a soft heart only for her. Zarios helps Sorcha fulfill all her dreams and is very supportive when it comes to her. He trusts her abilities, even though he sometimes fears something might happen to her.

I loved the smut between them; the swordplay was that unique touch between them. They both lose control in each other's presence. I know this is just the beginning of a new series, and I can’t wait to read the book about the sisters.

I loved this book so much! Zarios is the Grand Clarak trying to protect his people, and Sorcha is a princess of the neighboring kingdom that has what his people need to survive. When they realize that working together would prove beneficial to them both, a fake engagement is planned, but will they manage to keep their feelings at bay?

Zarios is such a sweet character, and all he wants to do is protect his people and initiate positive changes for future generations. Sorcha just wants to be a knight, but her mothers are in her way at every turn. She just wants to prove herself. She's an amazing fighter, and her skill is what first draws the attention of the grumpy minotaur. I loved that she didn't back down, and Zarios didn't try to force the issue. He listened to her and took her advice. She was willing to relinquish control to him during their intimate encounters, and he accepted that for the gift it was.

Their dynamic was so good, and the progression of their feelings, while fast, managed to feel natural. They treated each other as equals, and there weren't any drawn out misunderstandings because they actually communicated! That was probably my favorite part of the entire book. They discussed things like adults, and their relationship was very healthy because of it.

"It was almost as if I could feel rather than see his gaze"

This story follows Sorcha who is a Yulean princess and Zarios who is Grand Clarak (call him a king- he loves it) of their respective nations.

Sorcha has dreams of being a knight, but her mother's would rather her settle down and live the royal life. Zarios is having a problem with thieves taking his mage stones before the shipment is able to get to him. The two make an agreement to pretend to be intended mates in order to get what they both want.

"She would be leaving, and getting attached could cloud my judgement. There was too much stake for that."

I am not used to LE Eldridge having a slow burn. The tension was great and when it finally happened it was absolutely worth the wait. Hot damn!

""She would get on her knees for me, but not before she talked back to me."

As they spend more time together, lines get crossed and feelings start to blossom as they get closer to discovering the truth that will rock everyone to their core.

Will they survive the betrayal? Or will they be doomed to admit that this whole thing was a fluke?

I am in such a reading slump right now.

This was just okay. Kind of corny and extremely extremely predictable. The kind of predictable where you see the plot twist coming from 7 miles away and are kind of annoyed while you wait for the main characters to figure it out already.

A couple things that also annoyed me: the marriage scheme didn't make ANY SENSE. It would have been so awkward and socially difficult and reputation damaging for them to break it off afterwards after how far they went with the pretending. Like why would they do that it was so stupid.

Also the whole thing was essentially solved because the culprit was talking aloud to themselves in a room, revealing their entire plan. And one of the MCs overheard. Like you're kidding me with that. No one mutters their evil scheme aloud to themselves halfway into the evil scheme. So ridiculous.

Overall I just didn't find the characters and their actions very believable. They didn't communicate super well and their relationship was sort of boring in and of itself because of that. There weren't really intimate moments between them outside of sex. I found myself skimming the last quarter of the book just to kind of finish the book and get it over with.

3.5 stars rounded up!

I really enjoyed this book! It was all sorts of cliche and predictable but I loved the tropes. There was enough worldbuilding and action to keep me invested in the interesting political, albeit predictable, plot and the tropes kept the romance tension going even though this book was a medium burn (not quite a slow burn). The smut was definitely present and decently kinky without being too over the top. (Just some bondage and breeding dirty talk, no actual pregnancy).

Overall this book could have been an intricate romantasy with a slow burn but the author just wanted to write a fun entertaining standalone smutty romantasy about a adorable Minotaur leader and a princess who is good at kicking ass and it was exactly that! I’d be happy if all my quick palate cleanser books were written like this! I will definitely read the other sisters books whenever they come out.

Ps. My one minor annoyance with this book is they mention the multiple moons a lot and even use it as a curse word and your telling me neither MCs remember the names of the moons or anything? That’s the only part that seemed lazy and far fetched lol
