A broken cowboy…his shining light. Will she be enough to pull him out of the darkness?
Draven Harvey came home to Ironhaven, South Dakota, to settle down. The retired Marine was done with serving his country and just wanted a peaceful life working his father’s ranch. The Silver Creek Ranch was for men like him–broken and needing help finding their place in society.
After his time in the military, he wants to be left alone. Ranching was to be his life.
Cashea Moss took notice of the grumpy town hero who came to the bar where she sang every weekend. She was new to town, but she’d heard plenty about Draven. His eyes were intense and held tales of horror she was sure he had experienced during deployments. There was something about him that made her want to see him smile.
Draven tried to fight the attraction he felt for Cashea, but she quickly dismantled the barriers he had constructed around himself. He couldn’t get her out of his mind after one steamy night. Her soft touch made him want to do things he’d sworn he wouldn’t do–become a protector and fall in love.
Wrangling Her Cowboy is a steamy interracial BWWM romance with a broken small town hero, a beautiful heroine and a HEA.
USA TODAY Bestselling author Peyton Banks is the alter ego of a city girl who is a romantic at heart. Her mornings consist of coffee and daydreaming up the next steamy romance book ideas. She loves spinning romantic tales of hot alpha males and the women they love. She currently resides with her husband and children in Cleveland, Ohio.
Typical guy meets girl in bar & saves her from drunk man scene. Its 2024 lets be more creative. Then they do the horizontal tango once, agreeing it will just be once. Only for them to end up in bed together again. Then he decides he likes her after the second time & wants to be with her. Then they love each other. Thats literally how this book went.
3 "she was the luckiest woman on the planet" stars for this novella
Cashea Moss notices the tall silent cowboy who comes to the bar where she sings but pays more attention to his food and the sports on the screen than her melodic notes. But then an annoying man who doesn't get "no" is an answer, one who gets aggressive with her, makes her cowboy come alive, but not in a friendly way; it is with deadly intent.
Draven Harvey's protectiveness stirs desire, and Cashea is surprised when her cowboy returns her interest. She knows she gives in too eagerly, ready to jump in head first for anything Draven wants. What she doesn't know is that Draven finds that he would worship the ground she walks on because she makes him feel more than he has felt in years, and he's open to the possibility of love, a family of his own, and marriage.
Only, this novella does not end in a white picket fence, 2 yrs later epilogue, and kids on the way. It ends in a happy-for-now, after Draven and Cashea fall for each other and let their love come intensely and softly, surrounded by Cashea's belief in Draven and his fierce protection of her.
It's a short sweet novella and I'd love to see how these two end up if they appear as side characters later on in this series.
Bret Falcon found out he just can not man handle anyone he wanted to. Draven Harvey, retired Marine, let him know that Cashew Moss was not the one to be played with. Like most spoiled rich kids, Brett didn't know how to take being rejected and corrected and refusing to own up to his wrong doing.
Draven was a grumpy solitary man who was drawn to Cashea. His act of kindness left them both wanting for more. Cashea gave him a sense of comfort and home and he was determined to keep her. Even his father and brother knew that she was a keeper.
I'm curious about Bee and the father. I know there has to e a mature love story there.
I enjoyed this story a lot! This was what a short story should be! I felt we got just enough plot mixed with some spice. I don’t wanna say too much and ruin the story, but would recommend! I did the audiobook and enjoyed the narration!
Draven comes back home to just work on the ranch and have a peaceful life after serving as marine and struggling with the side effects of that until he lays eyes on Cashea! It’s a wrap after that even though Draven tries to fight it. He can’t. He becomes very protective very quickly of Cashea and shocks himself!
I’m just so glad the FMC who is in her mid 30’s wasn’t a senseless silly female! Quick story, insta love, OTT MMC. It was just what a short story should be!
A beautiful HEA, with serious amounts of sizzle! This book is for the 18+ crowd, some of the scenes do describe intense and graphic intimate encounters. The characters are vivid and engaging, while the storyline moves at just the right pace - neither too fast nor too slow. It doesn’t feel rushed nor that the author was belabouring a point. I did enjoy the concept of a working ranch that helped veterans transition back into civilian life. There is so much potential in this series for the author, the books could literally write themselves. Also, what woman can’t fall for a handsome brooding military man? They may be grumpy but they certainly know how to treat a lady! I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
I love reading about Cashea & Draven, makes you say to yourself that’s the kind of man I want in my life. So far it hasn’t been happen, the closet I come to finding my ride or die other is in these stories. I do have a question I see where other authors have included there stories for Silver Creek Ranch, but will you do a story for Draven brother Ridge, I would love to read it if you do.
The first book of this series kicks off with our hero Draven Harvey. Draven is a recently retired Marine who returns home to Ironhaven to work on his father’s ranch Silver Creek Ranch. Having only been back home for a year, he still struggles to acclimate to civilian life. This leads to Draven limiting interactions with others including his immediate family and friends. However, Draven visits the local bar Hen House to unwind from ranch life. This is where Draven’s story begins to take an exciting turn. Readers are introduced to our leading lady Cashea Moss who is performing with a covering band at Hen House when she is not working at her day job. Her melodic singing voice isn’t the only thing that catches Draven’s eye. After rejecting a persistent and entitled hothead, Draven steps in to give Cashea much-needed assistance.
As the story progresses our couple realizes they want more than just the one night they spent together. I don’t want to spoil the whole story, but I will say several things that caught my attention. Of course, I love how the author carefully handles Draven’s PTSD from his time in the Marines. Cashea didn’t treat him differently which Draven feared she would once she saw it. Although Cashea is very independent, she realizes she doesn’t always have to because of Draven. Also, I enjoyed the humor and steamy romance as well. Of course, there were a few characters that made up my list. Overall, I enjoyed this story and that our couple made it to their HEA despite the obstacles they had to face. This was a great introduction to the series. I am looking forward to reading more books from this series.
This was such an awesome read!! This new series is starting off with big Yeeehawww!! Returning home after retiring from the military, all Draven Harvey wanted was to be left alone in peace. But fate had other plans for this loner. On the night he goes to the Hen House for a beer, he encounters Cashea, a singer that performs cover songs Friday and Saturday night with her band.
When I tell you the attraction is immediate and the sexual tension is palpable. The connection between Draven and Cashea made this book extra delicious. Draven was also dealing with feelings of doubt and guilt about things that took place in his years of service. Cashea would become his peace. Draven and Cashea would find themselves dealing with drama and idiocy. One thing is for sure, Draven doesn't play when it comes to Cashea. Just ask Brett. Lol.
Overall, this amazing book by Author Peyton Banks was a fabulous debut to the Silver Creek Ranch series. I can see these cowboys are going to keep a girl glued to her devices, making sure she has her fan and her iced tea at the ready for some awesome reading. I can't wait for the next book!
I received this free book via BookFunnel, and I'm happy to leave an honest review.
Retired Marine Draven Harvey thought his life was destined to be alone until songstress Cashea Moss took a chance and approached him on evening during a break in her band's session. That event turned everything inside out not only for Cashea's life, but between the two of them. As much as Draven feared his dark military past would destroy anything good in his future, it turns out, his protective nature and sense of doing what's right was exactly the qualities Cashea needed in a partner. I love the way she was able to calm him and provide that place of peace he needed. These two, as much as they tried to fight it, they were a perfect match for each other.
This is a well-written story about a retired military cowboy finding his place back in the world, and finding the person who's meant to be his other half. Looking forward to the next book in this series. I hope there's a story coming about Draven's brother Ridge and finding his forever person.
I borrowed Wrangling Her Cowboy ~ Silver Creek Ranch ~ Book 1, by Peyton Banks, author from the Kindle Unlimited Program on Amazon.
Draven Harvey, ex-Marine came home to his family ranch in Ironhaven, South Dakota. His father had started Silver Creek Ranch as a place for military men to come to find a way to fit into civilian life after going to war for their country. Darven came home needing the time, peace and hard ranch work to help him put twenty-four years as a tough Marine and find a peaceful life.
Cashea Moss sings on weekend nights at the Hen House a local bar wher Darven goes for a beer and to watch football. He also enjoys Cashea's singing and hides his attraction well. Cashea is attracted to the grumpy cowboy and makes the first move that leads to an interesting story with a bit of conflict, lots of hot lovin' and a relationship full of happiness. Great plot and happy ending too!
3.8⭐️ This story drew me in although I’m not quite sure why. There wasn’t sufficient backstories for MCs Draven or Cashea, and the plot was neither unusual or compelling. I believe my enjoyment stems from the fact that I loved Draven and Cashea individually, and as a couple. Draven, a retired Marine Sergeant, is a gruff, non-smiling rancher, and his only wish is solitude. Conversely, Cashea is a sweet, hard working, compassionate woman, who has a winning personality.
The bottom line—I loved Cashea and Draven as lovers. Their two sexual encounters were explosive, but OTT— something they DID NOT know they were looking for. Further, Cashea was able to help Draven confront some of his demons, to help him realize that he was worthy of giving love and receiving it as well. Healing is a long road ahead for Draven, but with Cashea by his side, he has a shot.
Peyton Banks definitely has a winner with this series! Silver Creek ranch was purchased with the intent to provide a place for former military personnel to come when they return to civilian life. Here they can heal and regroup. Draven, the ranch owner's son, came back from the military a changed man. He's now a grumpy cowboy with a permanent scowl on his face. That is until he sees Cashea singing at a local bar. When she tries to avoid unwanted attention, he steps in to protect her. This leads to a night of explosive passion. When Draven is with Cashea, he no longer feels alone. Can he convince her that a future with him is a possibility, and will Cashea make him believe he isn't as bad or broken as he thinks?
he was protecting her from the beginning. she thought he hadn't noticed her before, but what she didn't know was he did notice her. he was going to the bar on the days that she was performing. and this big brooding cowboy was in love with her before he realized what was happening. what started as a one night, turned into two, and then they didn't want to be apart. until they didn't. she helped him with the mental issues he came back home with and helped him with the healing process. and brought back love into his life. a good start to their forever. loved it.
**I WAS GIVEN AN ADVANCE COPY IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW. **
This was a great read. Draven and Cashea were a cute couple. I like that they had an instant connection and that she could also relate to him being a Marine.
Her interest was genuine, and he could see that. Though he wasn't looking for anything, he found his happiness in her.
Brett was crazy and he needed to understand Cashea was off limits, and Draven told him 2x.
The heat level was 🔥🔥 1/2. I enjoyed it. Definitely recommend 5o anyone that enjoys Military romance.
Draven is a retired marine who’s returned home to work on the family’s ranch. He rescued Cashea from an unwanted suitor at the local bar where she sings. Cashea and Draven spend time together and agree to a one night stand. Cashea brings peace and calm to Draven and he realizes that he wants more from her.
This was a quick and sexy interracial cowboy romance. Cashea ends up snagging her man. I loved it.
I received an advanced reader copy for free and this is my honest review.
DNF 10% I wanted to like this so bad!! It pains me to dnf but I just can't do the third-person pov. Draven's name is mentioned nearly 60 times (57) in 13 short pages; I was losing my ever-loving mind every time it popped up. By the time I got to chapter two and saw Cashea, the fmc's, name being brought up MULTIPLE times on the first page, I knew then and there that I had to drop this. Pronouns are OK, we'll know who you're talking about, I promise.
This wasn’t an insta love story but it was close and I love it. Draven is a retired Marine who is living a pretty routine life. He thinks he’s broken because of what he did in the service of his country. Then comes Cashea. She’s a newcomer to this small town and has captured his attention. I love how forward Cashea was and Draven seemed to like it too lol! Great read and there’s heat and some drama.
You had me intrigued in the first chapter. You had me avidly following along as the story unfolded, rooting for the hero and heroine. You had me intrigued at the back story. And, most importantly, you had me falling in love with the characters through the whole story. Now I want to know about the rest of the family!
A fun, sweet, sexy read that I can happily recommend. Oh! And it's set in South Dakota. Bonus!
Love. It can heal in so many ways. It takes the right person to bring it full circle. I liked that there wasn't this long, drawn-out dance. The connection was strong from the beginning. Of course, there has to be an antagonist. Hometown marine finally meets the one woman he was meant for. I'm looking forward to reading more about this ranch dedicated to helping military veterans find their way back.
It started when she got up the nerve to stand next to him and ask for a water. They made some small talk before she had to go for the next set only to be manhandled by a man who didn't take no for an answer. A struggle ensued and he defended her. They got together when someone slashed her tires and he took her home. They started a romance and after a dangerous altercation, they got their HEA.
This was Draven and Cashea’s story. Draven tries to fight the attraction he feels for Cashea. He can’t get her out of his head after a steamy night together. Cashea Moss took notice of the grumpy town hero who came to the bar where she sang every weekend. It was an entertaining read. And voluntarily leaving this review.
I enjoyed reading the love story of Draven and Cashea. Wow what a great story. I was Captivated From the 1st chapter To the last chapter The story draws you and make you feel like you are present alone side Draven and Cashea. I will be recommending this novel to everyone I know!!!!! And I also look forward to reading the rest of the series.
Wrangling Her Cowboy (Silver Creek Ranch Book 1) by Peyton Banks is everything I needed for a good story with action and amazing chemistry. Draven is a retired marine who has returned home. All he wants is peace or is it ?? It is until he encounters Cashea. Then everything changes for both of them. You'll enjoy their story!🔥
I received the audiobook as an ARC. This book was fantastic! I loved everything about Draven and Cashea!😍 The chemistry between them was palpable, and the steam was 🔥🔥🔥🔥😌. The voice actors did a phenomenal job bringing Peyton’s words to life. I thoroughly enjoyed this one and didn’t want it to end. 10/10 highly recommend! 😁
There are men that seem to have a protector nature and when they meet someone needing protection, it activates that part and pulls them in! Cashea decided not to wait for Draven to seek her out, but went to him to find out if he was interested! 🤔 Turned out that she needed a protector and got one!
WHEW CHILE’! MR. DRAVEN HARVEY IS EVERY WOMAN’S KINDA MAN: the strong, silent, sexy type. I love the way this story flowed. I loved how the FMC just got him, and just instinctively knew what he needed, and when they realized what they had with each other it was just beautiful. Great story!❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Draven and Cashea are both starting over. Draven as a retired Marine and Cashea just needs to breathe on her own. There is a attraction between them, but is Draven ready to take that step forward and can Cashea help with Draven's peace of mind? A good read.
