Such a FUN experience!
Ladies Night is a super fun bully romance that takes place in the 90’s. The 90’s was such a good time. No cell phones, no chaos, just a good time. This is what this story embodies. A GOOD TIME!! Holly is the FMC and after waking up to her boyfriend kicking her out, she’s forced to couch surf on her best friends’ couches until she gets her own place. When she finally moves into her place, it’s the start of the holiday season and all she wants to do is get a tree and decorate. She’s so excited her tree is finally decorated and she has not one worry. Until Davis comes and sets her joy up in flames. Davis has plans for Holly.. plans that involve a *different* type of holiday cheer.
For starters, I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to the beautiful author, Lacey James. I had the ultimate pleasure (& my first time) beta reading this book! I cannot stress enough how much fun it was!! Holly has the best group of wild besties and they love to go out and dance to the Spice Girls. They’re fantastic and so supportive of Holly. And Davis ..while he is the bully a*hole, he does try and redeem himself and his actions make him quite sexy. I devoured this book in one sitting that’s how good it was!!! Please let’s show this author all the support. Paperbacks are live and it’s on kindle unlimited!!! Go read it!! 5 stars!!!

I was privileged enough to be able to read this book as an ARC, and boy, it was such a fun and wild ride to read.
This book is set in the 90s, and I love all the 90's references and the particular love for the Spice Girls (I was a huge fan). I also very much love Christmas, although this book has definitely made me see certain traditions and decorations in another light, but I'm not complaining... the spice is spicy, and the deranged stalker named Davis is finger licking good (see what I did there)... I loved all the characters in this story they all had their quirks and loveable sides, but I have a soft spot for Daisy... something about a butcher knife wielding bestie captures my heart!
I do recommend this book if you're looking for a fun, dirty, and easy read and a bit of a chuckle!

“Ladies Night” is a 90’s based Christmas 🎄❤️Bully Romance novella. Loved all the 90’s nostalgia ( I was in my late teens in the 90’s) and I wish I could back to those simpler times! One of first concerts was a NKOTB/ Spice Girls concert so I loved the Spice Girls references ! 💖

Things I loved:
🌟 This was a nostalgic 90’s book. Spice girls, track pants, Sex and the City all brought back sweet vibes!
🌟 The creativity of some of the spicy scenes. They were original and wild.
🌟 This was a loosely connected vibe of The Grinch.
🌟 Absolutely loved Holly’s bestie Daisy and would love to read more about her! She reminds me of my bestie and does not play around when someone messes with people she loves!
🌟 The holiday vibes of this and the connection it had to her parents.
🌟 It was a short and easy read.
Things I didn’t love:
🌟 Davis. I did not connect with him or like him. His whole grinchness was childish and super dramatic for the situation at hand. One scene in particular at a bar had me fuming and disgusted and no way in EVER would I have forgiven him.
🌟 I wish Holly had given him more crap. She had some TRAUMA happen and just like moved along so fast.

90s Christmas novella with bully and stalker energy?What more could we want! This was an amazing with spice ride.

What in the actual F!! I don’t know what I’m most shocked about. This terrible writing or the fact I came to give my review to see this book has a 4.21⭐️ rating.
I pride myself on enjoying a bully rom but Jesus Christ! I’m happy to report it turns out I’m a prude who does rely on a well written book.
And Give this MFC a backbone.

“Beg For It.”
If bully romances AND stalkers are your cup of tea, this is the book for you! If you loved the 90s, this is the book for you as well! Lacey did an amazing job of adding in details to get you in the 90s mindset and I feel that really helped me get into the story.
On a seemingly regular, weekly ladies night out, Holly unknowingly gains the attention of an unhinged Davis. From that point on, Davis makes it his point to cause turmoil to Holly but ends up getting a surprise himself as time goes on.
I don’t want to include too much as there are a lot of shocking parts to this story. Definitely a must-read!

Holly has everything she could want. She’s in a long-term relationship with her boyfriend, Jarod, she started a new job as a school counselor, and has ride-or-die besties that LOVE Ladies Night.
Ladies Night is a long-standing tradition among her and her best friends Daisy and Raven. But one Ladies Night in particular changed her life.
I loved the friendship between Holly, Daisy, and Raven - It’s the true definition of girl power. Holly’s positivity, Raven being the “mom friend”, and Daisy’s unhinged behavior balance out perfectly. Their passion for the Spice Girls was contagious and reminded me of growing up in the 90s. Can we bring girl power back, please?
From the minute I met him, I was not a fan of Jarod, her boyfriend of four years. But that quickly resolved itself for most of the book.
Ladies Night Vol. 1 is perfect for readers who enjoy the power of having besties, an interesting bully romance, and Spice Girls references.

He does things that you can’t seem to wonder if it’s good or bad. Later with all the plot twists you learn the truth to everything and that’s when things become more clear but which path does Holly deserve…shame/ ruined or worshiped as a queen. Ok, first off what I loved. Loved the Christmas focus, especially set in the 90's (lot's of memories). Spice was decent. I really liked her friend, Daisy. She was a bit of a firecracker and ready for anything. Over all it was a quick easy read and held my attention just enough.
And the rough part, what I disliked. First off, I read a lot of dark and bully romance, its one of my favorite types of books, however this just didnt fully fulfill the need for angst and conflict that dark romance and bully romance is supposed to have. It felt like Davis went from HATING Holly to Loving her in what felt like one sentence. There was a lot of miscommunication that felt really unnecessary and made the story feel forced. I think if some of this could have been fleshed out more, add more conflict and depth it would have carried the story through better. I really didnt like Davis' character, he was more like a horny teenage than a 30 something year old. Again, while I loved Daisy, I also hated her friends because they went from worried to pushing her into her stalkers arms. She finally tells them he SA'd her for a 3rd time and they treat it like a bad date. There were parts that just felt unfinished like chapter 10 to 11. Did she just fall asleep and not remember anything. Also they just fell into a relationship in basically one night?
Overall the writing is good for a debut and I think this author has a lot of potential. I would definitely try reading her future books. While I didn't love this book, I didn't hate it and I think there will be a lot of readers that will enjoy it. It held my attention and the ending was cute.

Did she just fall asleep and not remember anything. Also they just fell into a relationship in basically one night?
Overall the writing is good for a debut and I think this author has a lot of potential. I would definitely try reading her future books. While I didn't love this book, I didn't hate it and I think there will be a lot of readers that will enjoy it. It held my attention and the ending was cute.

Just want to say thanks to Lacey for receiving this arc copy. I was very impressed with the writing considering this is her debut novel. I found it very easy to read and understand what was going on. Even though i was not born in the 90's lol 😂 I really loved the way this story was told. It was very nostalgic and makes you think of simpler times when someone didn't always have a phone in their hand or be on social media all the time.
This book is a short and easy read with all the holiday feels and would be the perfect book to read around the holidays, if you like bully romance of course. This novella beautifully captures the essence of 90s nostalgia, making it a delightful read for anyone who cherishes that era. The atmosphere of the 90s is vividly portrayed throughout the story.
The plot begins as a bully romance, where Davis hassles Holly with various forms of chaos and torment. However, amidst all this, Davis suddenly develops a STRONG desire to be close to Holly, wanting to cuddle her every chance he had! He definitely gave pretty strong insta-love vibes! His transformation is like... a sour patch kid, minus the gone part. LOL . One of my favorite moments in the story is when Davis gives Holly a thoughtful gift with a handwritten note, which I found very charming as I have a soft spot for handwritten notes.
Holly's group of friends is quite eccentric, but in a positive way. They complement each other well, and as someone who has very few friends, I found it heartwarming to read about a supportive friend circle.
The spicy scenes in the novella are also quite creative...in all the right ways. Phew!

It's such a cozy, sweet, stalkery, super super spicy Christmas book 🎄 that if you're like me, can be read in a day - and then cry because you need the next one asap🥹
At least Holly's reaction to someone entering and breaking into her house in not like every other FMC in dark romance, it's actually pretty accurate 🖤
I particularly adored how slowly but steadily Davis gets attached to Holly, and people, the GROVELLING ✨
The found family sisterhood with Raven and Daisy was precious and I love them so much, they're each so different but fit so perfectly with eachother's characters 🖤

I absolutely DEVOURED this book. This was such a fun read! And it’s under 200 pages, so I never wanted to stop until I was done. She did such an amazing job on this & I love love holly. At first I wanted to punch Davis bc why you so mad for, but eventually Davis grew on me. the fucking Christmas tree part tho. I really wasn’t expecting that. real life grinch. 😂 I love the stalking, him being a bully, the hate to I love you, the fact that this was based in the 90’s you never really see that. & I love that. I absolutely couldn’t get over how much I really loved the movie theater scene 🤪 I absolutely can’t wait for daisy’s book. She seems so feral, I love it. I absolutely fell in love with her. I love the girl gang that they have, holly, daisy & raven.🖤🥰 I can not wait to see where she takes these next books, because daisy is already in my top spot so I’m excited to see more of daisy & raven 🩷

This is one of those books where I absolutely need to stress from the outset that you NEED to check the trigger warnings on PRIOR to reading. Though there are light hearted elements, this is a bully romance that potentially contains a sizeable number of triggering elements.
Having said that, and with the awareness of my own triggers in mind, enjoyed this book. Especially as the story progressed past the initial points of conflict and we moved further into the exploration of the dynamic between the main characters.
It was immensely enjoyable read with characters it's easy to love and settings that bring nostalgia straight to your heart.
It’s short, it’s snappy, and it keeps moving no matter what. I appreciated Lacey James’ refusal to drag the story down with unnecessary window dressing. She put faith in the readers abilities to employ deductive logic and context clues to understand things she didn’t explicitly spell out, but she also didn’t leave the reader floundering and confused.
If you’re after something quick, dark, and brief to get immersed in over the holiday period for a few hours, and the trigger warnings aren’t a concern for you, let me be the first to recommend Ladies Night for your reading pleasure.

Unfortunately, it wasn't for me. It started off really fun.
I love a bully romance, and it had the expected tension for a small part of the book, where the MMC Davis was harsh with his words behaviour and had his possessive nature over our FMC Holly. But I just feel like it didn't last long at all. All of a sudden, he was in love with her?
The things he did to her/made her do, Holly told her closest friends about this. And I know it's just a book but the way her friends just agreed with her and said they wanted her to be happy after she said she was falling for him, didn't really make sense to me. I would have expected more conflict about this.
Anyway, it's a super easy, quick read and had its fun bits. Unfortunately, like I say, it wasn't for me, but I am grateful to have been given an ARC copy.

So I was NOT expecting a dark romance when I purchased it. I was flipping few the first few pages and was greeted with a nice trigger warning list. That peaked my curiosity, as up until that point, I had never read a Christmas dark romance.
There was definitely plenty of spice in this book, 5/5 on the spice scale. I can't count the times I said "oh shit" while reading; my favorite quote of the book fits perfectly here. "Merry Christmas, you filthy fucking fornicators. Santa would be disappointed."
The thing I loved most though, were her ride or die friends. Daisy was an absolute ICON. I hope she gets her own book, I would love that. If you like dark romance and Christmas, check out this book. It is definitely one of a kind. I would describe it as wholesome in an aggressive format.

At the start of this book I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. This was a first ‘bully romance’ for me & admittedly due to said bullying I hated the MMC Davis for the first half of this book. But he grew on me when you got deeper into his reasoning & we learnt more about his character. The obsession & protector vibes had me swooning (amongst other things 🥵) Our FMC Holly is a likeable character who has been through a lot. She has the love of friends who are badass women (definitely the ride or die type we all need in our lives).
I love the late 90s throwback feel in this book, mixing childhood nostalgia with definite adult only content!

This is just the beginning for her and her stories. If you like any of the things I mentions above then you will like this easy and quick to read novella.

I love that this book is set in the late 90s and it was such a fun read. It was easy to read as well. I do love my bully romances and Ladies Night Out was a prefect mix of bully and falling in love.
Even though Christmas isn’t my favorite holiday, Holly made me want it to be. I was so happy and excited for her and when Davis set out to ruin it all for her, ticked me off!! Davis is the type of guy where I wanted to slap the crap out of and jump on him all at the same time. the author did I really go job of pulling us in and having us feel everything both Holly and Davis felt.
I can’t wait to read the second book in this series.

I received this is an ARC. I was super excited about the whole idea of the nostalgia and the Christmas theme because it is my favorite time of year.
There were moments in the book where I did chuckle, but overall it wasn't my favorite read. Spicy scenes were creative, but I just couldn't get down with the MMC. I hated him. He was so over the top angry and more than I feel he should have been. Then all of a sudden, he just flipped a switch and he was in love with her. The way the the FMC just gave into him so quickly and then forgave him....just didn't seem realistic to me even though its a book.
There were moments in the book where I did chuckle, but overall it wasn't my favorite read. Spicy scenes were creative, but I just couldn't get down with the MMC. I hated him. This book is a win for lovers of the Spice Girls, '90s retail nostalgia, and/or anyone with a degradation or public exhibition kink. 😅
I was so excited for this—'90s Christmas? To quote Travis from Clueless, 'two enthusiastic thumbs up!' I knowwwww it's a bully romance, but I just couldn’t let Davis redeem himself after what happened at her school's Christmas party. Even though groveling Davis and Davis 2.0 were totally swoon-worthy, I still couldn’t get behind his character (no pun intended).
The writing was great—LOVE Daisy 🔪—and I’d absolutely recommend this one if you’re into degradation or humiliation.

The way this book was so completely unhinged but also such a fantastic story blew my mind for being such a quick read. I was so very lucky to be able to beta read this book and boy did I love it!
This 90’s themed, Christmas bully romance book had all the bully scenes that had my jaw on the floor! Not only that but the nostalgic 90’s references to the spice girls and era themed stores had me living in the past when times were simpler.
I loved this so much and HIGHLY recommend! I can’t wait for Vol. 2!!
