I try, try, try not to be harsh with my reviews because I know authors work HARD for their stories. I have no doubt this particular author did, too, and many seem to have enjoyed it.
I don’t mind books that are all smut - so long as it’s good and I know to have an expectation of no plot / no character development. As it is, the synopsis for this promises some plot (which didn’t really deliver) and some tropes that, generally, lead to character development (which didn’t deliver either). Add in a bad run of editing (typos galore), and I have to say I won’t be reading again from the author.
I picked up this free from the summer reading challenge.

Fantastic
I must say this is a double WOW because both stories are absolutely awesome. These two are marvelous stories that's full of action vengeance and romance. I really LOVED reading Madeleine and Giuseppe Joey, DeLuca along with Nina and Callum O’Malley stories they are absolutely FANTASTIC . I really enjoyed the romance and togetherness of these couples. Plus when you put together all the drama and their emotional ties it makes for intriguing and captivating chapters. It also makes both a extraordinary story which is well written and so enjoyable because every moment gives you a pleasurable experience. Madeline is a woman whose decided for one night she would claim her independent because her father has betrothed her to the son of a politician. Giuseppe Joey, DeLuca is handsome charming and possessive he has fantasize about Madeline for years and she has landed in his lap he has no intention of letting her go. Their problems maybe many and full of violence, they still
grow to love each other. Now Nina is Maddy's mother who has been mistreated for years by her husband Maddy father and Callum/Cal is like a brother too Joey DeLuca as he has his own security agency he is the only one Joey will trust his Mother-law too. This is the second story and when they meet the chemistry is off the chart. I really love the secondary characters in both stories they are compelling and supporting even their enemies will pull you in the stories and keeps you turning pages until the end. I absolutely love reading Imani Jay books they are fantastic So let the vengeance and romance began along with the suspense. Both relationships has loads of drama, passion and secrets but Joey has made a commitment to protect and take care of Madeline with passion that's so fantastic and sizzling hot. Oh my I really found this to be a truly great experience. You will enjoy these stories they are captivating along with fantastic characters that has great chemistry with a mafia vibe that's thrilling and full of romance that will have you talking to your reader because their antics are definitely wicked and magnificent plus these characters are like wow. But don't forget that even the secondary characters are some of the best characters to read.There is only one thing that I wanted more of and that is for this story to continue. These are two couples that I couldn't stop reading even to fan myself and believe me they are hot. I know that I will be reading this a second and maybe a third time. This is a HEA because I know you will enjoy every page of these stories and all of the other stories in this Savage Bloodline series.

Imani Jay’s Red Ink contains the connected stories Giuseppe DeLuca and Boston Sour. While these stories can be read as standalones, they intertwine in such a way that they are best read together. If you’re able to work your way through both stories. If I had not been buddy reading them, I would have quit after the first.
I know both are intended to be quick reads, something that is easy to power through, but I really would have liked more from both stories. There was an attempt at covering the lack of plot with cliched events, yet nothing had depth to keep me invested. Characters were inconsistent (within the stories, and especially between the stories), which made it feel like I was reading scenes from different stories with the same character names. Add in the fact that a good edit was needed, and this felt like something that was not ready to be put out into the world.
There are clearly plenty able to look beyond the surface of this to find enjoyment in the events within, yet the stories did not work for me.

Okay
This has two stories: an age gap, followed by a reverse age gap with the first lead female's mother. Both stories have some editing issues, like "flower" in place of lower, when it says "I flower my gaze..." and him lying "at" the back of his car while city lights are flashing by the windows while his friend is driving. I think he is supposed to be "in" the back of his car, otherwise Callum would be driving off without him. There are others, but more in the first story than the second. I give the first 3 stars and the second 3.5 stars.

Giuseppe DeLuca:
Madeleine and Joey’s story is one that is intense and will pull at your heartstrings for sure. This mafia romance pulls you in and you can’t get enough. I felt myself loose a bit of focus with the epilogue but overall a great read.

When there is a boxset of 2 books under 100 pages each, with the genre romantic Suspense, you pretty much know it is basically erotica.
Not a complaint in the least. The writing is great, characters 👌 and spice level - oh my 🌶🌶🌶🌶
Unfortunately I do like longer reads so wouldn't be tempted to buy more but a nice little appetiser..

Quick Read
2 stories in 1 book was good. The stories are short. Wish they were longer but I got the gist of them. 1st book was about the daughter and the 2nd was about the mom. The characters needed more of a connection than physical attraction. I'll try other books by this author.

Eh, these ones (two books in one) was not my favorite. It was okay stories, but lacked plot. Was very much smut/spice, which is fine, but I wish we got a little more fleshed out stories and characters. The chemistry between the couples was good though. The stories weren’t all bad, just not my favorites. And the bad guy (same one in both stories) got what was coming too him, so that was good.

Short and Sweet
I previously read Joey story in his standalone and it was good. I was more interested in Madie mama story Nina and it didn’t not disappoint. Cal is hot and steamy from the jump and I loved that for Nina. It was a quick steamy read.
