He thought all demons were evil. Then he met the one who loved him.
For the last sixteen years, Alex Hawk has lived for one revenge. After losing his family to a brutal demon attack, he became a lethal hunter in the Paladin Guild. But when the demon finally resurfaces, his commander orders him to stand down and gives the case to another. Unable to let it go, Alex takes matters into his own hands, no matter the cost.
Talon is very old and very bored, but when a pretty paladin marches into a demon-owned club and starts asking questions, his interest is piqued. He wants to devour Alex, wants to lay claim and make him his own. Trouble is, demons don’t claim humans, and they certainly don't fall in love.
Alex burns for Talon. He’s never felt like this before, but it’s wrong to feel this way about a demon. If the guild finds out, there will be retribution for his sins. As he and Talon embark on his quest for vengeance, the heat between them reaches a boiling point. Can he trust these overwhelming feelings, or will falling for Talon be the worst thing that’s ever happened to him? Can a holy warrior and a demon ever find happiness, or are they doomed from the start?
"A week ago, Alex couldn’t really imagine having even the most vanilla of sex. Now he was tied to a demon’s bed with a toy in his ass and being forced to come over and over."
I've been in the biggest romance slump ever. This got me out of it, and it's a whole whopping 6 book series. I'm stoked!
I loved the forbiddenness. A demon and a holy demon hunter. That part when Alex finally quit fighting their connection had me smilin like a fool. The way he just melted like goo in Talons arms. I loved how Talon stayed in Alex's dreams to keep the scaries away. 🥺 Their bath time. The mirror scene and that ending 🥵 shewww weee! they were adorable, hot, and so obsessed with each other. All the kissy touchy feels. I loved it. The lil plot was juicy too! I'm glad Alex got his revenge. Off to the next one.
I needed more plot and less sex. I am all for smut, but the paladin/demon world sounded pretty interesting and I wish there was more than surface level characterization and world building.
Alex is a paladin devoted to slaying demons. Talon is a demon (a leviathan) and his sworn enemy. However, Alex soon discovers he is drawn to the demon when seeking help to avenge his family that was killed by a demon when he was a child. Talon was such a simp for Alex, it was so endearingly cute. The way he took care of Alex was so tender and sweet, especially because he doesn't have anyone in his life who cares about him beyond what his role is in the guild. Alex avenging his family was so satisfying, and finding love in the process was the icing on the cake. This book gave me the fuzzy feelings I expect from a romance book despite the darker themes. A very enjoyable and quick read.
In a world where demons walk the earth, the paladins exist to destroy them. Alex, a paladin known for his skills in killing demons, wants revenge on the demon that killed his family. When that opportunity is taken away from him, Alex takes matters into his own hands and in doing so meets Talon, a demon that changes everything he thought he knew about the world.
This book delivers exactly what it’s offering. Fallen is about a paladin questioning his faith and looking for revenge encountering a flirty and possessive demon and the relationship that builds between them. There’s lots of sex and intimacy, a good bit of action, and a little about a religious organization that’s more interested in controlling people than offering them any actual support.
In regards to some of the sexual content there is definitely a discussion that should be had about consent. Alex and Talon’s relationship is also arguably quite unhealthy with how dependent they immediately are on each other, but that obviously isn’t the main point of this book and that’s okay. Plenty of other books in this genre touch on this point. Unless this is your first foray into romance novels, that kind of thing is something you are already familiar with.
As far as narrative goes, I was left wishing there was more either about the guild that Alex grew up in or the world of demons that Talon is a part of. Both characters seem to exist skirting on the edge of everything, with not a lot of information about the world that surrounds them nor the interest in offering any of that information up. Alex’s struggle with his faith felt inconsequential and I would have liked to see more of him questioning the institution that he grew up in. I also wouldn’t have minded more scenes with Alex’s squad or some conversations with Talon’s acquaintances. The characters all seem terribly interesting and it would have been reassuring to see that Alex wasn’t getting totally isolated from the rest of the world when he gets together with Talon.
Overall, I thought the story was good. If you’re looking for a smutty demon and paladin romance with just enough plot to keep you interested all the way through, this is your book. Yarrow as always has a wonderful writing style and the ability to create compelling characters that leave you wanting to know more. I don’t necessarily recommend this story for anyone who is just starting to dip their toes into romance novels with dubious consent because of the aforementioned reasons, but if you’re familiar with the genre then I think it is well worth your while.
This was a great read. Alex was orphaned as a young boy when his family was murdered by a demon, and he escaped. The paladin guild promises to train him to take his vengeance if he allows them to adopt him. The demon that murdered his family has finally resurfaced now that he’s a warrior but he is told to stand down. But he doesn’t, he goes to a club run and owned by demons, where he meets Talon. Talon promises to help him get his vengeance. Talon is a demon that has been bored and drifting for some time but for some reason Alex entrances him, he feels drawn to him and wants to claim him. Together these two build a connection while trying to find the demon that murders families of five. But Alex feels torn between his holy obligations and the demon he is attracted to, he tries to fight his draw to Talon but there’s something there, pulling him towards Talon. And Talon feels the same connection. This story is surprisingly sweet for a relationship between a demon and a holy warrior sworn to kill demons. There’s lots of little twists and turns. High heat and spice. There’s action and fighting. It’s a fun, steamy and sensual demon story. I loved these two and can’t wait to see what comes next in the series.
I am so obsessed with Talon. This is a human/ demon romance. Alex is a paladin, which is essentially a demon fighter/slayer. Talon is a very old powerful demon. Talon is basically obsessed with Alex from the first meeting- Alex needed a lot of convincing since he was raised to believe all demons were evil. He was also on mission to avenge his family, Talon so graciously offered his assistance. Talon is the sweetest filthiest demon ever. He had so much patience waiting for Alex to come to terms with the fact that he was his. He just wanted Alex to be his and be happy at all cost. Talon is definitely book boyfriend goals and i highly recommend this book!
Not at all what I expected but really good nonetheless. This relationship build was surprisingly sweet for a demon/human pairing but it worked in favor of this story. Both characters were well written and their journey was one that sucked you right in and held on with both hands. I would recommend this book, especially for lovers of this trope.
* I received an ARC from GRR, this is my open and honest review *
Thank you to KT Yarrow for allowing me to read a copy of this book. I cannot tell you how much I loved this book. I need more characters like Talon and Alex, honestly. I just loved both of them and the TENSION AND BANTER BETWEEN THESE TWO WAS JUST OFF THE CHARTS. And the jokes and the teasing was so good. This book needs immaculate hype in my opinion. And how certain topics were addressed made me emotional and reflect on my past. Overall, I would highly recommend this book.
I am not sure I am reading the same story as everyone else. At 18% it's incredibly boring and I don't understand what exactly does the old dangerous demon see in Alex to fall in love with him at first sight.
The writing is immature and there is no real depth to the characters. Alex is unreasonable and stubborn and frankly not as endearing as the author is trying to portray him.
I'll give it another 8-10%, but I don't have high hopes for this book.
DNF at 31%. Not necessarily bad, just boring AF. 1 star.
A good story, I liked the idea and the plot. In fact, I liked it so much that personally I would have loved for it to have more plot and less spice. But that's just me. Readers who love lots of spice will like it.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
First, please heed the content warnings, especially the dubious consent. There are multiple times the main characters have sex where one consents because he thinks it’s just a dream.
This is an interesting start to a new series. As always, KT Yarrow does an excellent job of creating compelling characters, with a world of demons and the paladins who fight them. This book follows Alex, a paladin on a mission to kill the demon who killed his family; and Talon, a demon who helps Alex. While I would not say that the primary focus of this book is on that mission, it’s still an important part of what drives Alex to Talon.
The main focus of this book is on Alex and Talon’s growing relationship. The climax is not whether Alex succeeds in revenge but rather if he chooses to stay with Talon and leave the Paladin Guild of LA. I didn’t have this in mind while reading, so I was surprised when there was still a decent amount of book left after what I thought was the climax.
There were a few things that impacted my enjoyment of the book. First, there weren’t any female secondary characters. If there were and I’m misremembering, please correct me!
Second, Talon was always at the bar. I initially thought he owned it, but nope. He just hangs out there. What’re his motivations? He doesn’t feel like an active character, until he goes after Alex. In a similar vein, Alex didn’t ultimately choose Talon—the guild made that choice for him. I’d rather he make an active choice there.
Third, there were a few characters that were introduced for one or two scenes and then disappeared. My guess is that this is setting up for future books, but I’ll have to wait to see. Especially the prophet. I want to know what he saw and why he chose to tell Alex.
Overall, this is an exciting start to a new series and I’m looking forward to finding out who the next MCs will be!

When the need for revenge and the thrill of the unknown meet the taste of the forbidden, the rest is history. This is a well-written story with an original plot idea that stays hidden in the background, because the main focus is the relationship between Talon and Alex. I would have really enjoyed more plot development and less spice, but no luck in this regard. In a world where the peace between Hell and Earth hangs by a fragile thread, a master manipulator has found a way to not only thrive, but secure his position as an important player - the Paladin organization, those who are supposed to be the warriors of God and walk the fine line between Good and Evil, always making the right choice; the only guardians humanity has at its disposal, the last shield if all other defenses fail. It all sounds like pretty words, but do they have actual substance or are they a poison for Alex' mind, warping his view of the world. Msy be the status quo wouldn't have been rocked to its core, if the demonic nightmare Alex miraculously experienced as a child resurfaced again. I loved the way the past and present were described, the clash between them creating a whole new level of conflict that questioned the very foundations of Alex's life and beliefs. It was fascinating to watch this house of cards crumble and take away Alex's old life in one fell swoop, leaving big emptiness behind and a place for Talon to take on. As I said there was a lot of spice and less world building but overall I enjoyed the story. The aspect that left a little bit of bitter aftertaste was Talon's obsessive possessiveness - for someone who is immortal and has had the chance of living to the fullest, experiencing all kinds of pleasure, it was a tad bit hypocritical to deprive Alex of his own share.
Orphaned in a demon attack, Alex was taken in by the Paladin Guild of Los Angeles. The guild promised that he would be the one to kill the demon, he trained and became a skilled fighter. In the four years he has been on a team, his demon kill count is double some of the most senior paladins. When the mozgoran demon returns to LA, on a new killing spree, Command refuses Alex's request to be on the team that takes it down. Talon was one of the first demons born after the fall. Bored for millennia, he is intrigued by the human warrior who strolls into a demon bar. He agrees to find information on the mozgoran's location in order to get Alex's phone number. Alex can't stop thinking of the demon, and that's before Talon begins invading his dreams. Suspended when Command finds he's been hunting the mozgoran alone, Alex turns to Talon. Touch and love starved, Alex has to decide, demon or paladins. Their affair, both in real time and in Alex's dreams, is sizzling hot. The worldbuilding is excellent. The author doesn't automatically make the paladins the bad guys'. Just hidebound. Secondaries are fleeting. This was a well paced, interesting read. Alex is adorable. Talon, though he'd deny it, is squishy marshmallow for his lover. And cuddly. Good action, not really a lot of gore. There's going to be a next book. Which is a yay! KT Yarrow is new to me. Can't wait for more from them. I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my review.
Wow throughly enjoyed this book Firstly, let me say I’ve got this book from gay romance reviews and this is my honest review. I’ve Gotta say this is a brand-new author to me but I was overwhelmed with this book. You’ve got a man called Alex who lived through his family being murdered by a Demon. Thankfully, Alex was taken in to the guilds, they trained him to be the best fighter he could be to 1 day, hopefully use his training to find this demon and make him pay. When a family of five is murdered and left in the same symbol that his family had been left in Alex has Tunnel vision to find this Demon. But it seems that the people in charge don’t feel he can be subjective so another team goes after the Demon Alex is destroyed and decides to go against all that he holds only and go to a club that he knows the Demons hang out. He could lose everything to be found here, but he can’t stop, and this is where he meets a Demon and called Talon. But can Alex work with a Demon to get to the one he needs to kill??
Oh my gosh guys, this book was just exhilarating. Honestly, I couldn’t put it down. But can Alex work with a Demon to get to the one he needs to kill??
Oh my gosh guys, this book was just exhilarating. Honestly, I couldn’t put it down it down. Super addicted. Talon and Alex are just an electric. There is this connection that’s just running deep, which means these two cannot stay away from each other. Omg I can’t wait to read more from this author. Super excited!
Fallen is a MM forbidden Romance. We’re first introduced to Alex who belongs to a secret Holy warrior organization called the Paladins that hunt and slay demons. He’s devoted his life to protecting the innocent and seeking revenge on a demon who turned him into an orphan at just 6 years old. He’s been suffering from PTSD for the last 16 years. Theeeen we have Talon.. the ancient, super sexy, obsessive, patient, knows what he wants, leather jacket no shirt wearing demon, who’s been walking through his immortal life bored and numb, until Alex that is ☺️. (Yes, yes Talon needed that kinda introduction lmao.) He is one of my new book boyfriends because SWOOOOON 😅 he would do ANYTHING for his “little bird” 🥹. Throughout the book he’s just patiently waiting for Alex to accept the inevitable. I feel like the book had the perfect pace for me. The world building was great i am hoping as the series goes on (as this is the first book) we’ll get more of a deep dive into to the Paladins and demons universe, which I’m excited for! The spiceeeee, good lawd those 2 couldn’t keep their hands off each other and the bathroom scene 👀. There’s also a bonus chapter that was sweet and freaking hottttt 🥵. **Please review the trigger warnings before reading**
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
🖤Forbidden romance ❤️🔥Instalust 🖤Holy warrior ❤️🔥Demon 🖤Sweet and Spicy ❤️🔥HEA
Alex has spent the last fourteen years of life doing exactly as told - training hard and going on missions. He joined the Paladin Guild and became an excellent demon hunter. His sole purpose was to be ready to seek vengeance when the demon reappeared who killed his family. He had been promised that he would be able to be the one to kill him, but now that he has surfaced again, the commander orders him to stand now. Alex cannot do that. He goes to a demon-owned bar and seeks help. He finds Talon. Talon is bored, surprised to find himself entranced with Alex. He agrees to help Alex and the two embark on this mission. Alex knows what he is doing is wrong in the eyes of the Guild but he knows he must.
You cannot help but fall in love with Alex. He has been through so much and now the one thing he wanted and was promised is being denied him. He is upset by that as well as baffled by his desire for a demon. It goes against everything he was taught. Talon has a similar issue. In his many years of life, he has never felt something for any one like this, much less a human. I love how Talon embraces his emotions and his patience for Alex to do the same. This story was unique and pleasing in many ways. I cannot wait for the next one. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book and this is my very own opinion.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is the first book I've read by this author and I absolutely loved it- devoured it in 2 days. I'm a sucker for enemy to lovers trope anyways but this felt very well done and natural. The transition from Talon being Alex's enemy to becoming his lover was one that kept me captivated. Whenever they were not having an interaction I was counting down the pages until they had their next scene together. That's not to say I didn't enjoy the world building in this book. I just was more fond of the chase that was occuring. Alex's character is very independent, a bit snarky and I loved when he got dommed by Talon. So hot. My only note of critique is that once they got together it was very healthy on the sweeter side but I would still like reminders that Talon is an ancient dangerous creature and Alex is a highly trained and lethal hunter. I missed a bit of the danger and bite to the story once they had settled in together. Otherwise, If book 2 was anything like book 1 I'll be looking into it for sure.
First in series (Dark Delights). Paranormal. Adversaries to lovers. Hurt/comfort. Dual POV. Heed content warnings.
Alex has always wanted revenge for the death of his family, but the young demon hunter finds he needs help outside the Guild of Paladins, and even though it is forbidden, he finds himself asking demons for help. Talon is oddly attracted to Alex, so he agrees to help the Paladin get his revenge, but finding himself slightly obsessed with making the Paladin his is definitely something new the old and powerful demon has never experienced before.
I always enjoy the trope of the bad boy/good boy forbidden romance and this story did not disappoint, especially when it came to the attraction and steamy times. Talon is a possessive cinnamon roll demon when it comes to Alex, and Alex doesn’t allow Talon’s being a demon stop him from coming to care for him as well. This is the first in a new series and has a good start at world building, and I would have loved more background for both Alex and Talon, but I was still very invested in their relationship and interested to learn more as the series continues. 4.5 rounded up
The demon hunter Alex has long desired vengeance for his family's murder, but he discovers he requires assistance from sources outside the Guild of Paladins and, despite the prohibition, finds himself turning to demons for aid. Talon agrees to help the Paladin get his revenge because he feels an unusual attraction to Alex; nonetheless, the old and strong demon finds himself slightly fixated on the idea of making the Paladin his own—something he has never experienced before. This narrative lived up to my expectations, particularly in terms of the passionate moments and the cliche of the forbidden romance between a good guy and a bad boy. Even though Talon is a demon, Alex doesn't let that stop him from caring for the possessive cinnamon roll demon who is Alex. The world building is solid for a first installment in a new series, and while I wish there had been more backstory for Alex and Talon, I found myself engrossed in their romance and eager to find out what happens next. I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.
I always loved the forbidden romance and what could be more forbidden than the demon hunter falling for a powerful demon? I absolutely love the dynamic between Hawke and Talon.
After Alexander Hawke's family was brutally murdered by a demon he was adopted by the Paladin Guild with the promise that he would get his revenge on the demon. So he has grown and trained for this moment since he was 9 years old. However, when the demon finally resurfaces Hawke is quickly removed from the case and told that he would not be getting his revenge. So he does what anyone set on revenge would do....he walks into a demon nightclub looking for answers. What he finds is something else entirely.
This book is done so well and the dynamic and flow are natural while also feeling very fated mate. When you find someone who listens, helps, and offers more than you ever imagined how can you resist? I can't wait to see what happens as this series continues.
For a relatively short book, Fallen packs an impressive amount of character development and plot. KT Yarrow strikes a great balance between moving the story forward and giving us time to understand the characters, Alex and Talon, while laying solid groundwork for future installments in the series.
I genuinely enjoyed this read. The dynamic between Alex and Talon is the heart of the story, with Alex's so-called "revenge mission" often taking a backseat to the intensity of their connection.
The emotional and psychological pull between them is compelling and provocative—especially when Talon begins appearing in Alex’s dreams. It left me wondering: is it still somnophilia if one of the participants isn’t technically there?
Overall, Fallen is engaging, quick-paced, and offers just enough mystery to keep you wanting more. I'm looking forward to seeing where the series goes next.
I loved this book so much! From start to finish I was completely hooked and fell in love with the characters. Talon is brilliant and such an intriguing character; he and Alex had fantastic chemistry and I enjoyed seeing their relationship develop. The world building was strong - I really felt for Alex and what he'd been through and I admired his determination to be the one to get revenge for his family. The world building of the guild and In Extremis was interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing how the series progresses next. If you like mm romance then I'd definitely recommend this book (and also download the extra scene at the end as well because this really gives us clues for book 2!). I'm excited for book 2 and while I wait I'll definitely be jumping into some of the other books by this author. For me, it has to be 5 stars.
KT Yarrow is a new author for me and I enjoyed the first book in this new series. I liked how Talon brought Alex out of his shell, and I’m always a sucker for a good forbidden romance, particularly between a demon and someone of a religious background.
One thing I was… disappointed is a strong word, so perhaps underwhelmed by, was Alex’s act of vengeance against the demon that killed his family as a child. It’s a big part of the story and his character, but when it came to the showdown, it was all over fairly quickly and easily. I almost felt like it wasn’t truly dealt with and the bigger showdown would happen a bit later, but it didn’t and that was that.
However, I still really enjoyed the dynamic between Talon and Alex and I’m looking forward to reading the next book when it’s out. 😊
I loved this story of Alex the demon hunter who goes off on his own to kill the demons who murdered his family only to find help from another demon. Talon is immediately attracted to Alex when he shows up in a bar Talon is hanging out in. Alex is the first excitement he's had in ages and he heads off on Alex's quest with him. From this premise we get action scenes, lots of passion between the two main characters, some nice plot twists and a world I want to know much more about. These two are out of touch with some things really going on behind the scenes in the paladin guild and with the other demons and I want to learn more about all this as the series progresses.
This is a new to me author,so even though the blurb was intriguing I wasn’t sure how good it would be. After reading this I have to say KT Yarrow is Wonderful! This book was so good I didn’t want to put it down so I read it in one sitting… It had plenty of action, suspense and spice. Both Alex and Talon were interesting alone but together they were just too good. The only thing I didn’t like about this book was there was no plans to make some sequels. It has the promise of more with Alex and maybe Talon being investigators or hunting. I’d love to read more! I received an arc via grr, and this is my honest review
