Princess Caryssa’s life has been anything but easy. As the only daughter of a cruel king, her only value to him is that of a broodmare. One to be sold off to the highest bidder without any consideration for Caryssa herself. Out of options and desperate to escape the loveless marriage her parents want to see her trapped in, Caryssa flees the only home she’s ever known. Once aboard a ship headed far from her father’s kingdom, Caryssa adopts a new identity as Stella and starts her life over.
For years, she lives a simple, solitary life…until one night, her path crosses with a creature she’s never seen before.
Working as a barmaid in her small village’s only tavern, Stella is used to the boasting of the arrogant hunters. However, when their tales of an injured wolfman they have chained up behind the old mill reach her, Stella knows she cannot let the poor creature suffer. After finding and freeing the wolfman, she realizes there is more to him than meets the eye.
When the same hunters appear at her door, demanding to know where the beast has gone, the wolfman—Ciaryn—protects her. Slaying all those that would do her harm and confesses that she is more than just his savior. He’s been waiting a long time to find her, and now that he has, he won’t let her go. As their budding passion reaches a crescendo, will they be able to forge a future of their own making together? Or will the demons lingering in both their past put an end to their love before it can even begin?
This is a short and spicy monster romance novella about a human woman and wolfman who fall for each other fast and hard. For a full list of tropes and other information, please check the author’s website.
Rating is closer to about somewhere between 3.25-3.5.
Quick read with plenty of spice. As always Charlotte creates these short escapes which are good palatte cleansers in between heavier books.
I had fun and I will admit that I am a sucker for werewolves. Stella is a sweet princess that ran away from her family to escape a miserable fate. I loved how she was full of empathy, kindness, and was a healer in her own right.
Ciaryn is a protector and alpha of his pack. He wanted nothing more than to take care of Stella after the kindness that she showed him. Super cute and tender.
Looking forward to the next one since I always know what to expect with Charlotte.
A Kiss with a Wolfman is a fierce, gritty ride into a world where monsters aren’t just creatures of legend—they’re heartbreak and hope wrapped in fur and fury. If you crave slow-burn tension, desperate survival, and a hero who’s as broken as he is powerful, this story hits deep.
This book is: 📍 Princess Caryssa, forced into exile and grappling with her shattered past 📍 Ciaryn, the wolfman with claws sharper than his words and a storm inside 📍 A remote cabin, snow closing in, and two souls forced together by fate and desperation 📍 A raw, emotional journey from mistrust to a bond that claws its way through pain and fear
The chemistry between Caryssa and Ciaryn simmers with dangerous restraint—he’s a protector with a savage edge, she’s a princess learning to fight for herself beyond the throne. Their connection is less about fireworks and more about slow, aching vulnerability beneath the growls and snarls.
Bonus points for: 🐺 Intense atmosphere—icy wilderness and firelit nights that crackle with unspoken feelings 🐺 A hero who’s equal parts beast and broken man, struggling to let Caryssa in 🐺 A heroine who’s not just surviving but claiming her power in every whispered word and fierce glance 🐺 Quiet, powerful moments that linger long after the pages close
The story is lean and focused, more about mood and emotion than grand plot twists, but it’s a satisfying bite of monster romance with heart.
Final verdict: Dark, tender, and fiercely addictive. A Kiss with a Wolfman will leave you breathless, aching, and wishing you could stay lost in the snow with Caryssa and Ciaryn forever.
I can’t believe I got this as an ARC😭 I’ve read so many of Charlotte’s books and loved them, and this was no different. This was short, sweet and spicy.
Now, Stella fled her princess-life the second her father wanted to marry her off to a cruel husband and has settled to work in a bar far away from her home, with a new name, living a simple life. As it goes, one clown-of-town...ehm hunter won't really leave her alone, trying to get her attention to come live with him. But when he tells the bar about the beast they caught, how the plan on hurting him and where they chained him up, she knows she needs to help. When she finds him, she realizes he's no beast at all, and takes him to her home to heal his wounds.
This is a shorter book, so don't go looking for crazy world-building or character backstory. I think this was what it was meant to be- short, sweet, spicy and knot-y Stella is a sweet and kind soul and Ciaryn was nothing if not protective and devoted. Commitment issues? We don't know her. 💅🏼 Now if you do have a problem with spice and non-human packages, maybe skip this one.
This is a perfect, short read if you need a MMC who's absolutely devoted from second one (or if you're interested in knots after all)
I enjoyed the story up until the wolfman was set free. The tension was just right. But it started to go downhill from then on pretty fast. Insta-everything. Rushed mate bond. Et cetera, et cetera. I also didn't appreciate some parts of Stella's and Ciaryn's rushed mate dynamics, like they only just met, why the insanely fast settling down. Some aspects of the writing style felt juvenile and surface-level. The use of insipid language such as 'hole' was beyond me, and made me cringe. The story however wasn't as bad as some others in the same series which I dfned quickly.
Another interesting read from Sean, thought I feel this one is lacking compared to the previous book. I liked knowing what happened to Stella and that she found out her friend got a happy ending. All of the books have an interesting spin on “found family” with lots of spice. This one was no different even if the characters had slightly more sad/tragic backstories. I’m looking forward to the next one.
Such a spicy little monster romance! I absolutely loved it. It was short and sweet but packed with action, bloodshed, lust, knot-y activities, and love.
Stella and Ciaryn are just perfect together, I love their chemistry and the spicy time is spicy. Be prepared to get some blushing on!
But such a fun read, I enjoyed it and I am so ready to devour the rest of this series.
Loved the little slow burn that Ciaryn and Stella had! Especially the first time meeting and being unable to stop thinking about each other. The backstory to Stella’s life is connected to a previous book in the series so make sure to read the others before hand! Got to say Ciaryn’s obsession with breeding is 🤤
not my favorite! nothing will beat a kiss from a demon, this fell right in the middle for me. Mid but enjoyable. Wish there was more back door action 🫣
