She's built a sucessful career from the ground up, he's just trying to take care of his son... neither are in the mood for love.
Shiloh Baxter is Lighthouse Bay's best realtor. Her spunky personality and wide smile are part of why she's called the "Friendliest" shop on Main. But when her roommate gets married, leaving her alone...she needs something to take her mind off the loneliness.
Buying a fixer upper was supposed to be easy, but Shiloh quickly realizes she's bitten off more than she can chew. When she calls on her friends to help, they bring along Granger Lowery. A handsome, single dad who seems to have a smile for everyone except Shiloh.
Granger doesn't have time for a pretty face. He trusted one years ago and now he's a single father with medical bills and alimony that are about to take him over the edge. His dwindling bank account is exactly why he took the job Jett McCoy offered, to work on a flipper home, but Shiloh's stunning looks and take-charge attitude and perpetual smile make him regret it immediately.
So when he ends up playing her fake boyfriend to keep a colleague at bay...Granger knows he's in real trouble. How is he supposed to keep his small family intact with Shiloh stealing both Granger's and his son's heart without even trying?

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5) Spice-meter: 🌶️☆☆☆☆☆ (1/5) Audiobook: 🎧 Dual -style Series: Shops on Main, Book 2 HEA: Yes
The Friendliest Shop on Main is a warm, gently swoony continuation of Laura Ann’s Shops on Main series, and it fits beautifully beside the soft, comforting tone set by book one. Where The Busiest Shop on Main focused on quiet second chances, this installment leans into grumpy/sunshine charm, single-dad tenderness, and the kind of slow emotional opening that sneaks up on you when you least expect it.
This story has that same cozy Lighthouse Bay atmosphere, but adds a playful spark through Shiloh’s bright personality clashing with Granger’s guarded world. It’s not loud or dramatic, but it’s emotionally sincere, heart-centered, and quietly rewarding in the way the best small-town romances tend to be.
The Story
Shiloh Baxter is known as the Friendliest shop on Main for a reason. She’s all smiles, confidence, and warmth, even when loneliness starts creeping into the quiet corners of her life. Buying a fixer-upper seems like a distraction, until she realizes she’s in way over her head and calls on friends for help. Enter Granger Lowery, a single dad stretched thin by responsibility, medical bills, and emotional exhaustion, who has zero patience for bright smiles and easy charm.
What begins as friction and forced proximity slowly turns into something softer. When Granger agrees to pose as Shiloh’s fake boyfriend, lines blur, walls lower, and Shiloh gently becomes part of both his world and his son Zane’s life. Their connection grows through quiet moments, shared effort, and the kind of trust that feels earned, not rushed.

Final Thoughts
The Friendliest Shop on Main is a gentle, heartwarming addition to the Shops on Main series. It carries forward the same cozy charm and emotional sincerity introduced in book one, while offering a slightly brighter, more playful romance built on trust, healing, and found family. If you love single-dad heroes, sunshine heroines, and small-town stories that make you feel wrapped in a warm blanket, this one is absolutely worth the listen. And that little preview at the end? Let’s just say Skyla and Dalton already have my attention.
If you're looking for a clean sweet romance with the cutest little boy this one is definitely for you.
Shiloh Baxter is an independent woman who is focusing on her career. She is the perfect amount of sassy and sunshine. She just purchased a house to flip and it's a bigger job than she thought it would be. She has to enlist the help of her friends in order to help her with the job.
Granger is a grumpy single dad that has been hurt in the past. He’s recently moved to town with his son Zane. He’s been recommended to help out fixing Shiloh’s landscaping.
Together they have a rocky start. Granger assumes he knows Shiloh because she has similar characteristics to his ex wife who broke his heart and left him and their son. They have great chemistry together but both are reluctant of each other. Shiloh really has a soft side for Zane and its so endearing.
Narrated by Mollie Stark and Scott Rose I found them delightful. Mollie really brings out Shiloh’s confident and playful side where Scott captures Granger’s stand offish protective nature towards his son and Shiloh.
If you like 👨Single dad 👩Realtor 😠Grumpy / judgmental dad 🧑🎤Cute son 💕Second chance 👩❤️👨Clean & wholesome
The Friendliest Shop on Main is such a cute, wholesome story. I loved Shiloh in the first book so I was happy to get to read more of her story. Granger is a single Dad to Zane and they meet Shiloh at a wedding. At first, Granger judges Shiloh and doesn't like her, but Zane loves her from the start. She is such a big personality compared to Granger's grumpy demeanor. I loved watching their relationship grow into more. Shiloh has a stalker and Granger steps in to help her and his protective nature begins to take over.
The twins, Tate and Jett, are back with their banter! We also get more of Serenity and Luca.
Mollie Stark and Scott Rose did a wonderful job at bringing the characters to life. Both Mollie and Scott had an awesome kid voice for Zane! Mollie was perfect for Shiloh's upbeat, quick witted personality. She also brought out her vulnerability and fear when it came to the stalker. Scott brought out Granger's gruff and grumpy side and shifted easily to his loving, protective side for Zane and Shiloh.
Overall I loved this story. I'm looking forward to the next book of the series!
If you need a sweet, open-door room romance with simply one of the most adorable little boys, this audiobook is for you! Shiloh, who we met in book 1, is the friendliest realtor in town. Shiloh is a dynamic character, friendly, strong-willed, fiercely independent, and clearly not looking for love. Granger is a single dad, trying to make ends meet without burdening his friends. Zane is his delightful son that Shiloh clearly falls for just as hard as she falls for Granger.
The chemistry between Shiloh and Granger sizzles throughout the story. They can't seem to get enough of each other. The mystery behind the increase in crime on Main Street starts to ramp up throughout the book as Shiloh also deals with a stalker. You can see how this will be an on-going theme throughout the series. So if you like men big on protecting their women, then I think this will be for you.
Let's chat about narration. Mollie Stark gives a great performance, not only her delivery as Shiloh, but her voice for Zane was great as well. I feel like Scott Rose gets better each time I listen to him. My one big hurdle was casting. Shiloh was repeatedly described as exotic, with dark hard and brown skin. So for me, while the narration was good, I couldn't help but feel the missed opportunity to cast a female narrator of color.
The Friendliest Shop on Main by Laura Ann is book two in the series and follows Serenity’s best friend Shiloh and single dad Granger.
While the story was sweet overall, it took me a bit longer to settle into this one. The instalove between Shiloh and Granger, especially after their initial friction, felt a little far fetched to me, and I struggled with some of Shiloh’s choices throughout the story. I also didn’t find the antagonist’s motivation particularly believable, which made those moments frustrating rather than tense.
That said, Zane absolutely stole the show. I loved him as Granger’s son, even if he felt more emotionally mature than most kids his age. He brought a lot of heart to the story.
In audio, Mollie Stark and Scott Rose delivered solid performances, though at times I had trouble distinguishing between Mollie’s male and female character voices.
Overall, this was a gentle, closed door romance with warm moments, but the execution and character decisions didn’t fully land for me.
Sold!! The Friendliest Shop on Main, Book 2 in the Shops on Main series by Laura Ann did not disappoint. I loved everything about this story. Shiloh is a strong, feisty FMC who knows exactly what she wants and doesn’t need anyone handing things to her. Then there’s Granger—a divorced single dad who’s built walls so high around his heart that even he can’t seem to break free.
This story has it all: angst, protectiveness, a touch of stalking, and the true heartbreaker of the book—Zane. Granger’s son absolutely steals the show and tugs at your heart. I was hooked from the very start and would definitely recommend this one.
Now for the voice acting—incredible. Mollie Stark as Shiloh was the perfect fit. She delivered the sass, raw emotion, and powerhouse independence that Shiloh embodies so well. Scott Rose as Granger was equally excellent, capturing his grumpy exterior, his loving and devoted side as a father, and his strength as Shiloh’s equal. Together, these narrators truly elevated the story.
A wonderfully sweet story of finding acceptance and love. How important is it to let people have a chance, not judging on first impressions or even assumptions? That is what Granger had done. He first saw Shiloh at a friend’s wedding and she reminded him of his ex. The ex who left him and their son when he was still a baby. He didn’t need someone like that again. But later when you are faced with no choice but to take a job she’s offering, what do you do? Especially if that baby is now six and is enamored with that same woman? Shiloh knows that few if any, can look beyond the way she was raised to really see her so she tries to protect her heart. Who knew a six year old would take over her heart so easily or that his dad would be so willing to rescue a woman in need? Plus his handsome father seems to be actually willing to see what she is really like. Mix in an obsessive stalker and you have a wonderful read.
This was such a sweet, cozy small-town romance and honestly just a really easy listen. Shiloh is one of those characters you can’t help but like. She’s sunshiney, hardworking, and trying her best while dealing with some real loneliness. And Granger? Total grumpy single dad who’s clearly just doing everything he can to keep his world from falling apart. I loved him for it.
The grumpy-sunshine dynamic was fun, the fake dating added some cute tension, and the moments with Granger’s son completely stole my heart. It all felt very warm and small-town in the best way. I also really enjoyed the audiobook, both narrators did a great job bringing the characters and story to life. Overall, this was such a comforting, feel-good story.
Thank you to Blue Nose Audio and Laura Ann for gifting me this ALC and the opportunity to listen and review. If you love single dads, fake dating, and grumpy-sunshine romances, this one is absolutely worth checking out.
The Friendliest Shop on Main by Laura Ann! Book 2 in the Shops on Main series Performed in dual narration by Mollie Stark & Scott Rose
So cute!! The first in this series was hard to get through but not because of the story. The fmc name is my daughter's name and I just couldn't overcome it (I renamed her) lol. It was still such a good story 😌
This one was so adorable, grumpy single dad, small business owner, protective, past female issues.
Shiloh strong, independent, silly, explosive to put it lightly, very strong minded. Is the way she portrays herself something from her own past...
Crazy stalker and not the good kind!!
This was a very cute book and I'm really enjoying this series!
The Friendliest Shop on Main🎧 By Laura Ann Voice Performances by: Molly Stark & Scott Rose
This series is so refreshing! I’m loving the crossover with each book. Shiloh and Granger are featured in this one. Equally as cute and fun The twins Jett and Tate bring their banter to keep you on your toes. Get ready to laugh and fall in love in this meet cute. Single dad, perpetual single lady and a house with bats and cats. Thank you to BlueNose Audio for the ALC and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Serenity, Luca and officer Grady means the gangs all here! Enjoy! Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Narration: 🎙️🎙️🎙️🎙️
Wonderful book! I love love love that Shiloh got her moment to shine in her own story! It's hard sometimes not to be jaded and weary of everyone around you - but it's also hard to ignore the good that happens to you when you open up and let it in! Such a sweet and romantic story, but not without ups and downs! This story kept me on the edge of my seat turning page after page faster and faster! I can't wait to read more of this series!
I loved Shiloh in the last book. She is so full of life. I didn’t exactly like Granger at first. He is a great dad but very judgmental and grumpy. I did like the arc of the story and the growth the characters experiences. Zane is so cute and really adds to the story.
Granger has been through one bad relationship and is a little shy when it comes to relationship. Shiloh and Granger had fireworks the instant they meet. They go through alot before they are together. It was a great book.
Another cute & heartwarming story, the second book in the series. I am a sucker for a grumpy single dad and a sassy sunshine FMC and it didn’t disappoint. I loved that it was romance (sans spice) with a little bit of suspense. If you’re looking for a sweet clean romance this is book for you. Narrated by Mollie Stark and Scott Rose, who both did an amazing job bringing Shiloh and Granger to life.
Shiloh, Granger and his son Zane make an interesting trio. Well actually it is Shiloh and Zane AND Granger and Zane NOT Shiloh and Granger - not at first anyway. Seeing him struggle with his attraction is quite comical to me but not so much to him or to Shiloh. Loved Jett and Tate!!! Please give them each their own books!!!! Watching Granger slowly change from grumpy to sappy was a sight to see. This book has so much including a bad guy. Great ending - so sweet. Once again, the narrator did a great job.
Really enjoyed this HEA story of sassy Shiloh, gun shy Granger and his son Zane. Add in the twins from The Busiest Shop on Main and a nasty character and I’m happy to completely recommend this book. I received a copy of the book for free and this is my own opinion about it.
