Twelve months. That’s how long I have to uproot my life in Houston and live in the middle of nowhere, Texas, working on my late grandfather’s ranch if I want to inherit it—along with the millions it’s worth. If I don’t, the entire property goes to his neighbor, and I’m left with nothing.

Sounds simple enough, right?

Wrong.

Enter Nash Cameron: my new, accidental, extremely grumpy, sinfully handsome cowboy neighbor who, thanks to a handshake with my grandfather, is now responsible for teaching me everything there is to know about running a ranch.

Nash and his two brothers have drawn the short straw in this arrangement. Clay, the youngest, seems to think this will be fun. Wylie, the eldest, is just waiting for me to fail.

And Nash?

He looks at me like I’m a storm cloud rolling in to ruin his perfectly ordered life.

I shouldn’t care what he thinks. I don’t owe him anything, and I certainly don’t need to prove to him that I’m different from the women he’s clearly lumped me in with. But then one steamy bull ride on an off night shifts everything, and suddenly, I see Nash in a way I hadn’t before.

And, as much as he tries to fight it, he’s starting to see me differently, too.

The next twelve months could be the perfect backdrop for something to spark between us—hidden under the sprawling Texas sky and the shade of the willow trees.

Or this forced proximity might burn everything to the ground before we even get the chance to start.

I say we’re just friends with benefits, but I know my heart’s already too far gone.
He says it feels like more than that now—but will he still feel that way when our time runs out?

Dive into this sizzling grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, small town, cowboy romance as Jovie and the Cameron brothers navigate love and life on the Ashwood and Cameron ranches.

Overall I did not enjoy the style of this book. I love a good Cowboy romance, but it was missing something and felt really rushed. Parts of it I liked, and momentarily considered reading the next book to see how the other stories were, but ultimately decided I wasn’t a fan of the writing and character development. Had it not been such a short read for me, I wouldn’t have finished it.

hmm... i think the book started out okay, however at the last 30-40% it was very very rushed. the author is either sick of writing the story or she had ran out of ideas to continue, so she just want to end the story asap. the whole execution wasn't well thought out.
