Loved this
I could literally cry right now. Did not know it was a series, and now I have to wait 😭😭. This is my first time reading this author and I'm so glad I fould her. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. I will definitely say I called the family dynamic with Promise, which makes me dislike her mom even more...just sad. Kim should've cut Ginger off or at least stopped inviting her to events after the bday party. Why are you at a child's bday party if you are not family, a god parent, or have no children??? Love Jayce's and Promise's relationship. I guess I'll make my way through her catalog while we wait on part 2 😩

Fire
This was a fire ssa read. Once I started I couldn't put it down. This was my first read by this author and it will not be my last. I knew that man wasn't her daddy. Her momma need her tail whipped for allowing him to treat her child like that. Freaking shame. Kamal ticked me off. Why he wait to tell her.

Omgggg this was sooo good. So many secrets being revealed, it got me on the edge of my seat. Im going to start book 2 immediately because the suspense is killing me after the way this book left us with a cliffhanger👀👀👀

Babyyyy, Kamal is in all kinda mess! It's crazy, he's been with Alana for years and it's safe to say he doesn't know anything about her! Alana really is a hot mess and needs serious help! I don't know why black people so prideful and won't talk about me mental health issues because Alana could have gotten help a long time ago! Their parents really ain't shit! All these secrets and they acting like they so high and mighty! Now look at Kamal and Promise! As sad as it may be, it's a good thing that baby didn't live! They still have to deal with being married 😒 I love Deja and Telly! They real riders for their loved ones! Jayce definitely got the better side of life being adopted by Promise! Don gone rider for Deja every time so I hope Knox is ready! Same thing applies for Chaz! These niccas ain't bout nothing yet can't keep their hands to themselves! That paternity bomb at the end gone have a long ass domino effect! I hope they ready and when the dust settles, everyone is good! Whewwww! Too much, too much, too much! Part 2, come on!

Now wait a minute…. I knew all along that there was a reason that Promise dad treated her the way he did but I did not expect the connection between her and Don.. Now on to the Promise and Kamal situation they started out so unconventional but are the perfect couple, I hate that Kamal didn’t tell Promise about his connection to her sister Alana before it was exposed because I am not sure if they can come back from the betrayal she feels but hopefully they can. There is a lot more going on in this book but I don’t want to tell too much but just know there is about to be a war going on in part 2.

I would love to have friends like Deja and Telly! They r the ride or dies everyone needs in their corner. From the moment Promise was introduced, I instantly loved her. U can tell she has the biggest heart despite her family dynamic.
I love the love triangle aspect between Alana, Promise and Kamal. That Alana is truly nutty. I don’t know why, but I got pleasure in reading when Kamal had to interact with her.
Although unconventional, I love Pomise and Kamal together. They just seem right for each other. Man I know Kamal about to go apeshyt crazy over what happened to Promise.
Oh and let’s not forget Promise and Don are siblings! Can’t wait

What happened in Vegas most assuredly did not stay there! Promise Simmons and Kamal Miller not only woke up naked with initials tattooed on their ring fingers, but they were also married! Ok, get an annulment. "NOPE," said the judge! "Not only do you have to be married for six months before I'll allow it, you have to live together, and I'm going to do random spot checks to make sure you do! " Meanwhile, chemistry was brewing, and our happy couple had one more little surprise awaiting them, plus a plethora of dysfunctional relatives with a closet filled with skeletons and many other dirty secrets! Excellent!

Great read
I am so annoyed how it ended but I figured that was the reason why her pops treated her the way that she did I figured he wasn’t the pappy. I was so annoyed with Kamal like bro really Don told you over and over that you needed to tell her and you didn’t and even Jayce told you don’t play with his mother heart. Jayce will likely not mess with Kamal no more and when Promise is better she’ll probably want that divorce. It could either be 1 of 3 people her crazy sister Alana, Chaz or Kendrick. Can’t wait for part 2.

You did your thing with this book. Your pen game is fire for real. From the charters to the storyline was exceptional. That Alana is the devil. Marcel is a snake and London was just as bad letting him do what he did to Promise and her son. I hope Kamal puts in on all of them. I love him and Promise together just as well as Don and Deja. And Knox Don has to reach out and touch him too. I can't wait for part 2

What is really going on, so now we know why Marcel treated Promises so different. And his daughter is a nut case. Secrets and infidelities
This book was amazing however there was a whole lot of secrets and infidelity going on. I feel so bad for promise because she has been treated bad all her life and it’s because of the secrets her parents hold. great book
Man this book was great from start to finish. The nerve of promises family shocked me the most. The daddy was playing favorites their whole life. Don was being sneaking following the ladies out to Vegas but it was cute tho. I loved the fact that kamal was patient and truthful most of the time. Man the secrets in this book was so crazy. I can’t wait for part 2.

A well written story that pulls you in and holds you throughout the entire story. The characters are strong and well developed and plenty of twists, turns and thrilling moments throughout the story make it a book that's hard to put down.
