When my parents turn up missing, I’ll do whatever it takes to find them—even if it means going undercover and marrying my father’s best friend to do it.
With 17 years between us, Roger Cavanaugh has always been out of my reach. That is until my world is turned upside down, and my parents vanish from a couples’ retreat.
As the Deputy Director of the FBI, my father’s disappearance warrants pulling out all the stops. And even though I’m a special agent for the Bureau and possess the skills to uncover the truth, I’ve been told my services aren’t needed.
Unwilling to stand by, I seek out the one man I know can get the job done. Roger, along with his team from Shining Knight, helps me devise a plan to infiltrate the resort. But there’s a catch. The only way to stay on the premises is to be married.
After a not-so-quickie wedding, Roger and I embark on a mission to unravel the mystery. What we discover is more than we bargained for and could cost us everything.
Amid the chaos, Roger and I confront our growing bond while racing against time and facing formidable adversaries. We must fight—not only for our future but also for the fate of America.

Fearless is book 6 in the Shinning Knight Protectors by Madison Love. I think that this series is such an enjoyable inspirational romantic suspense series and I am sad that this is the last book in the series. Harper's parents are missing and she turns to Roger and the Shining Knight Protectors for help. I believe that tthe author has written an exciting book that has surprises and several unexpected twists. Fearless is not to be missed. I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.
Best if read in order. Characters overlap throughout the series. When her parents go missing, and she needs help she goes to longtime family friend and his team. Only problem the op will require everyone to be married and he's several years older than her. Will they find her parents? What happened to them? How does her family react to the marriage and will it become real?.
I received a copy of this book from the author. Review voluntarily given.
This story was great! I loved the story line and the way we get a HEA from the parents. So now what was fake can proceed to be real at least in this book anyway. What a great ending to a wonderful series. I for one am going to miss the adventures of the team with the Shining Knight Protection Services. We have been on 6 wonderful journeys that taken us all over and shared the perils and rescues of the Shining Knight Team.
Having been with Madison Love from the beginning I know she has something new and exciting to take us on another adventure that we will all love with the new book or series that she has planned. Maddie is a wonderful Christian writer that I am proud to say that I read all of her books and do reviews on each one. And I can honestly say I have loved each and every one of her books and cannot wait to see what comes next.
This is a story of the love and respect that Harper and Roger have for each other and for the people around them. There is a 17-year age gap between them and out of respect for her parents they have never acted on their feelings toward each other. They have silently love each other for many years. Her dad and Roger Cavanaugh are best friends, and he has watched Harper grow into the beautiful woman she is today. When her parents go missing from a luxury resort Harper, Roger and the team do whatever it takes to find them and get them back. Harper and Roger and some of the team go undercover to the resort but you have to be married and show proof of the wedding along with pictures to go to this couple's retreat. So, the women and wives of the team plan a wedding for Harper and Roger.
Now they are on the way to the retreat and Roger even got lucky enough to get the same room as her parents had stayed in. We have 3 couples at the resort trying to learn everything that they can while trying to act like tourists and now the fun begins.
I am proud to say that I am part of the ARC team for Madison Love, and I will be happy to leave my review.
This book had everything I enjoy in a good book. It had suspense and mystery, thrilling scenes, romance, witty banter and an appropriate faith message.
Harper has had a crush on Roger Cavanaugh for many years. He is her father's best friend and is 17 years older than her. When her parents disappear on a vacation in the Florida Keys, she is not satisfied with her boss at the FBI's handling of the situation. It is a very serious situation even more so because her father is the Deputy Director of the FBI. She goes to Shining Knight Protective Services to ask for their assistance. This is where it gets fun. The crew decides that Harper and Roger need to get married so they can go to this swanky resort where her parents disappeared from.
The newly married couple and other members of the team arrive at the resort. The sparks start flying and there is plenty of action and intrigue on the menu. This marriage of convenience is just supposed to be temporary, but these two cannot deny their chemistry. Roger just has to get past the age difference, and the fact that he is worried how Harper's father will react to this relationship.
This was such a fun book to read. It had some serious moments and some fly by the seat of your pants in fear moments. There were also touching moments. The thing that I loved most was the banter back and forth between the characters. Jessie is my favorite. She always has a joke. She has a serious job, but she knows how to lighten the moments. There is no disrespect. It just helps make the mood in the room a little more sunshiny, instead of dark and gloomy. The faith message was perfectly intertwined into the story as well as these characters leaned heavily on their faith to get them through the hard times. This was romantic suspense at its finest.
Thank you to the other and Booksprout for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I’ve been following along the Shining Knight Protectors series and I’m never met with disappointment. Fearless was NO exception.
When I found out Roger was finally getting his story I almost fell out of my chair with excitement. In all the other books he’s been the “dad” of the group. Older, loyal, faithful to God and his country.
But I was always bummed that he never had a significant other because everyone else had these amazing love stories. Roger needed his someone, and Madison knocked it out of the park!
For the entirety of her adult years Harper had been in love with Roger. And Roger has been in love with Harper. But with a 17 year age gap and he being her father’s bestie, there was an invisible barricade between them.
But that didn’t stop Harper from trying to become a woman she thought Rodger could become interested in. When her father and mother go missing and even the FBI can’t help, she knows who to turn to and upon seeing him for the first time in years, Harper puts Rodger on the spot with a marriage proposal that he can’t say no to.
As husband and wife they work together to find her missing FBI parents and an evil scheme of nuclear proportions. But the biggest battle they face are the hidden feelings they’ve been keeping from one another for the last decade.
Age gap. Forced proximity. Crime solving. Long time crushes and two people who seek to trust God over all are some of the few things you will find in Fearless, by Madison Love.
The only BAD thing about this book is that it’s the end of the series. I would love for it to go on forever. But I’m not Annie Wilkes 😆 So I guess I have to accept the end and keep waiting for more works by Madison and the amazing author she is!
You need to go read Fearless and the rest of the series if you haven’t yet!
When Harper's parents go missing and the FBI seemingly isn't working hard enough to find them, she contacts Shining Knight. After all, Harper's father is Deputy Director of the FBI. Shouldn't the FBI be looking deeper for him? Perhaps he's been kidnapped? Roger, her father's best friend and part of the Shining Knight team, devise a plan for Harper and Roger to go undercover. The only glitch is that they'll actually have to marry to accomplish the search. As Roger & Harper & several other couples of the Shining Knight team arrive on the resort where her parents disappeared, tensions mount. Harper has always had a crush on Roger, and he's noticed she's a beautiful woman, even though they are quite a few years apart in age. They've decided their marriage is in name only and plan to annul the marriage once Harper's parents are found. Through several twists and turns, evidence appears that implicates Harper's parents' guilt in a national crisis. Are they being framed? Are they still alive? Are Harper and Roger willing to annul their marriage in the near future? I thoroughly enjoyed the suspense as well as team spirit that occurs in trying to solve this mystery with a thread of faith woven throughout. Shining Knights is like a family that have each other's backs. I also enjoyed the playful banter and humor in this book that balance out the tension, including mention of the "Wall of Shame" where photos of embarrassing moments of team members are displayed. One of my favorite humorous lines from the book: "Women don't snore, Roger. We purr." I highly recommend this clean romantic suspense as well as the entire series. I have received a complimentary ARC of this book and have given my honest opinion in this review.
Another great book in a great series. I so enjoyed reading this series that I went back and purchased the first two books in the series that I didn’t have. Great books with romance and mystery woven together in such a way that you are drawn into the story and can’t put it down. Tough getting your sleep. Loved the H and h who know each other from when the h is young. The H is a close friend of the father and therefore the h was off limits. Unfortunately the h has had a long standing crush on the H and the H when she becomes an adult. The h works for the FBI and the H works for the Shining Knight firm. The h comes to the Shining Knight’s for help, her parents have disappeared and she has been unable to contact them. She thinks they have been kidnapped. The H is the only one who can help her because he is single and they need to get married so they can go to the retreat that her parents were at when they disappeared. They get married with the idea that they will get an annulment when they successfully rescued her parents. The other team members from the Shining Knights are married so they can go to the retreat without raising suspicions. The H and h get the same place her parents were in when they disappeared. The investigation proceeds with many twists and turns. There are many unexpected events but in the end the truth is exposed and the parents come forth with out injury and expose the person responsible for the disappearance of the parents. In the end the H and h get their HEA and they stay happily married. Enjoy your read.
Roger is the last of the origional gang... this is his story. Readers have heard about Harper throughout the series and its great to have her take center stage in this final (?) book of this series. He's the Dad of the group, given his age and experience. Protective, honorable, dedicated, caring, they all describe Roger, but he's also very private with his personal thoughts and feelings. It's been hinted he had a thing for Harper, but we get definitive evidence in Fearless.
Harper is strong, independent, loyal, dedicated and VERY determined. Her backstory details just how determined and dedicated she is when she cares deeply about something. A "temporary" wedding to find her parents is not all she wants in this story. Turns out, she may not be the only one.
The twists and action this story provides will keep you engaged from the first page to the last. There are so many moving pieces, and it seems no matter what the team does, pieces of the puzzle come up missing. Will they find Harper's parents before someone else gets lost? Just who, or what, is standing in their way. If you've enjoyed the previous books in the series (and even if you haven't) you are going to love Fearless. Check it out!
I received a gift copy of this book and volunteered my review. For best reading experience, I recommend reading the series from the beginning, but it is a standalone if you prefer. Happy Reading Y'all 📚
There were a few minor lose ends regarding the FBI cases involved in the prior few books of the series. Nothing concerning the SKP characters, but simply the bureaucratic busywork involved in closing cases. This book very neatly wrapped up all those pesky details and gives Roger Cavanaugh at Shining Knight Protection Services the happy ever after ending he wouldn't allow himself to want -- Harper, his mentor and best friend's daughter. It can be read on its own, but is much more satisfying if read as part of the series, where all the case history and character relationships are already known and understood.
The banter between Roger and Harper is just as snappy as the interactions of the SKP team on assignment. It was fun seeing the spouses from the earlier books make an appearance at appropriate moments, and to catch up with their growing families. There is never a dull moment at the exclusive resort in the Florida Keys, with boating, snorkeling, jet-skis and shootouts, interspersed with romantic walks on the beach. There are even some new gadgets the SKP team can play with, because no action story in the wake of the James Bond franchise is complete without boys and their toys
I received a free advance copy of this story from Booksprout and voluntarily chose to share my review.
Is a sweet age-gap, Christian romantic suspense with no cliffhanger. Some of the lines I really like ----- If you didn’t know better, you would think the phone was surgically attached to him.” ------ ‘I want to use all the gadget and gizmo thingamabobbies, including the taser ring doohickey.’” ----- One thing I’ve learned about relationships is that you can fight your feelings all you want, but in the end, you’ll find yourself in a position where you can no longer ignore them. ----- “I do. When you’re close to someone, you want to share everything with them. You want to share your hopes and dreams, your fears, your needs and wants, as well as your burdens because you know that they’ll love you no matter what. You want to show them gratitude for always being there for you, even when the times get tough. That’s the way I feel about God. He’s not only my Father; He’s also my best friend.” ----- “Faith that either their loved ones will return home to them, or that they died serving a greater purpose other than themselves." ---- Who kidnapped Harper's parents? What happened to the four FBI Agents? Are Harper's parents traitors? Who killed Thomas? ----- These and other questions will all be answered. I loved Harper and Roger's story and I'm sure you will too. This is the last book in the series and I feel like I'm leaving friends behind. I'll be reading the series again.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I had not read the previous books in the series and decided I wanted to read them in order. One week later, I completed the entire series. Several nights I was up late finishing the book I was reading. I loved each book (for different reasons). I can not say that this last one was my favorite. I recommend that you read the series in order as you will miss things without that process.
Roger and Harper have a family connection (her father and Roger are friends) plus a large age gap. Her father is in the FBI as is Harper. Roger is part of Shining Knights and is known as one with Dad jokes. They have both had feeling for the other but never been able to make the connection. This case requires them to be married which delights Harper and scares Roger.
The story has lots of twists and it is hard to tell who is on what side. I love the camaraderie of the team and the intersection of their faith in action. Many times short bible verses are an integral part of the story and how they impact the various characters brings a different prespective to that verse(s). It never comes across as preachy.
I look forward to the author starting a new series focusing on some of the minor characters that are becoming part of Shining Knights.
Fearless is an action-packed, dual POV, marriage of convenience, romantic suspense novel. Harper has appeared in the earlier Shining Knight Protector books. As the daughter of the FBI deputy director, she is used to being brushed off, but when her parents disappear at a married couples resort, she hires Shining Knight to help her find them. But in order to enter the resort, she has to be married. Luckily, Roger, her father's best friend and her long-time secret crush, is willing to marry her temporarily. In the chaos that follows Harper and Roger with the rest of the Shining Knight team work together to try to locate Harper's parents.
While the age gap between Harper and Roger is significant, the author handled this beautifully, with several characters having conversations about this within the pages of this story.
As Fearless is the conclusion to the shining knight protecters series, and I will really miss the team at Shining Knight. The popcorn, betting, and wall of shame all will be dearly missed as well as the team themselves.

This book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time! This is such a good read. I had not read any of the previous books in this series prior to reading this one but I will be going back to read them now. I enjoyed it without reading the others but I would suggest reading them to get a better sense of who the all characters are. This book follows Harper and Roger as they work together to find Harper’s parents who disappeared while on vacation. Roger (who she has had a crush on for years) happens to be one of Harper’s father’s long-time friends and former FBI coworker. Roger and Harper have to pose as a married couple in order to work the case. This plan seems fine but there are real feelings involved in this “fake” marriage. There is an age gap between Harper and Roger but I felt it was written very well. At no point did I feel weird or uncomfortable about the years between them. Age gaps can be hit or miss and this one is a hit. Also, I felt there was a great balance between romance and action in the storyline. I think the two themes meshed together well and did not overpower one another. Content: kisses only. These are my own opinions. I was not required to leave a review.
Let me start my saying I received an ARC of this book. This is a Christian Romantic Suspense book. The main character’s are Roger and Harper. This book was so good I don’t know where to start. Harper has liked Roger for a long time. With an age gap and being her father’s best friend prevent them from being together? There was the perfect amount of suspense. Her parents are missing who has them or does someone have them? Are her parents as innocent as she thinks? Will Harper’s and Roger’s last minute marriage for the mission last? This book had you asking so many questions that I couldn’t go to sleep until I had the answers. Now back to Roger and Harper… They are amazing together. They make a great couple and a great team. I love the side character’s in this series. My favorite couple is Carter and Leanna so I was happy to see more of them in this book and to find out their amazing news. The ending of this book… Wow! I didn’t see it coming. It was a good ending but also made me sad. This book and this series is one I will read again.
Wow! This story had me not able to put it down. It was packed with fun characters, action, adventure and romance. This is a dual pov, clean romance with Christian elements. It is part of a series but it is the first in the series I have read so I’m going to go out on a limb and say it can be read as a stand alone because I didn’t ever feel lost in the story. First I want to say how amazingly executed the Christian elements in the story were executed. I felt like it was done in a way that you can tell the characters lean into their faith without it being over done (it’s like sprinkles, a little bit here and there). I also don’t usually read age gap romance (I don’t avoid it but just don’t come across it often) but I felt like this was done well in this story. It was part of the story without being the sole focus. I feel like their investigation pulls your mind to focus on that while you have the romance on the side lines. Definitely a must read and now I need to go back and read the rest of the series.
After reading Daring, I was early waiting to hear Roger’s story! Harper and Roger are family friends and are now stuck in a marriage of convenience to try to save Harper’s parents from danger. Harper is determined, stubborn, and loyal - and Roger is too - but will they still be together when the mission is over?
I loved the banter between the team members, especially some of the couples and individuals we’ve read about before. I usually stay away from age gap stories, but Madison did a great job of making the age difference realistic and God honoring, rather than self-centered or sinful like a lot of age gaps stories can be. The story line also had several twins and turns, and although I had some different guesses of my own, I did not see the final chapters playing out the way they did!
Fearless is a great book for anyone looking for a suspenseful adventure with Christian themes, humorous banter, and a happy ending.
I appreciate that Love has written action packed novels that are clean and free of sex. There is a very clear faith message included in this book about looking to God for direction. There is some investigation and scenes of suspense but the aspect of the novel I liked the best was the interaction between the team members. There is much banter and many teasing comments, fruit of the group working together for some time. The romance is a little different in that there is such an age gap between Madison and Roger. But it seems to work in the end. There is also a twist at the end, one that was not a surprise.
This is an engaging novel. It is the last in the series but reads well on its own. To fully appreciate the teasing between the members of the Shining Knights, the previous novels should be read first.
I received a complimentary egalley of this book through BookSirens. My comments are an independent and honest review.
Roger has captured my heart, and I'm thrilled to have found my new book boyfriend. 😊 This book expertly blends humor and adrenaline, culminating in a jaw-dropping finale that still has me reeling. I love the age-gap romance between Roger and Harper, and heartwarming friendship with her father, yielding laugh-out-loud moments, especially during his hilarious oxycodone-fueled antics. The Shining Knight’s team embodies a sense of belonging, beautifully incorporating characters from previous books. I love the scripture verses throughout the book and the fact that these characters were dependent on God during trying situations. I hope the author will create an audio version, bringing these characters to life with talented actors who'll do them justice. Though the series has ended, its inspiring legacy will stay with me.
I was given an advanced copy of this book for free, and I’m leaving my review voluntarily.
One regret and that is this is the last book in this much loved series; Shining Knights. Fearless is about Roger and Harper; both caring and loving each other for the past 7+ years and neither doing anything about this romance, because of the 17 year difference in age.
The underlying mystery as to whether Harper's parents, Eloise and Robert's honesty is still present in their missing in action played beautifully throughout til the end and kept me glued to the book because of all the unexpected ups, downs and twists to this story.
Enjoyed reading about this attractive couple and how all past story characters were present in this book, too. There was always a giggle never far from the darkest moments.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is one of a series of romances revolving around a group of private protection specialists. It works stand-alone if you still need to read previous books in the series. This book is about the relationship between Rodger and his best friend's daughter, who is trying to find her parents.
It's a light-hearted easy read, and for the most part, I found it enjoyable.
I did enjoy reading this book but there were a few small things that bothered me. First was the feeling that all the characters were all very similar. Most characters had the same types of teasing, the same reactions to it, etc. I thought the premise of a "false wedding" was clever, but the execution was a little awkward.
That said it was a fun read, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes this series, or Christian romance.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I one clicked this book before I even looked at the cover artwork or blurb (trusted author). Now, I’m a fan of age gap romances (I generally prefer the lower end of the gaps, under 10). However, lines that talk about “twice her age” and sitting on his lap as a child… felt misleading. Let me be clear, this is a 17 year age gap. This was a “father’s friend” romance.. if that is such a thing.
I was worried and wary. But, as the book progressed, it settled. Our heroine is 30 so that does make the age gap experience not as severe as it could be. This was an exciting Christian suspense that held a few different avenues for danger. Ultimately I’m going with a 4.5 rating for this book. It was an interesting conclusion to the series.
I received an ARC of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
✨️ Marriage of Convenience is one of my all time favorite tropes.
✨️ Madison Love is one of my all time favorite authors.
✨️ Put them together and you have an epically amazing book!!!
Harper & Roger
I LOVED Fearless. Going into this book I knew I would love it. And it still blew me away. It was over too soon (only because it would never be long enough 😂❤️). It was an amazingly beautiful, fast paced story that also wrapped up the series in an incredibly satisfying way. One of my top favorite reads from Madison!!

The gang is back sharing another adventure and this one is Roger’s story. Roger is the dad in the group and as level headed as they come, that is until he’s reunited with his best friend's daughter Harper.
The Shining Knights Protection team is a close knit family that take care of their own. The characters are relatable and as I read each new book, it’s like visiting old friends. This book seems to add depth and excitement to the already existing characters. Jessie’s humor, Jaxon’s protectiveness and in this book you see Roger’s vulnerability. Also, the usual intrigue and problem to solve make for a story that will keep you captivated till the end. I could not put this one down! I was so close to giving it a five star rating.
I received a complimentary copy from the author. I’m happy to write a review so that others can discover reading Madison Love’s books. I highly recommend them!
When Harper's parents go missing while on a vacation she goes to her father's best friend, Roger, and his team to help her find her FBI father and mother. The search involves a well oiled team who approach the problem with skill, experience, and love for one another and the Lord above. Harper has loved the much older Roger forever. He has her as well. Neither has acted on it. That is all about to change amid kidnappings, bad agents, smuggling, and gunfire. A fast paced story filled with action running to a happy Ever after. I was part of the ARCteam for this book. This review is my own opinion freely given. Highly recommended.
OMG this was another amazing story. It was page turner and the suspense was intense. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn't even put it down. Harper and Roger were physical attracted to one another and the chemistry was sensation of passion and protector. Her parents were missing and she need help to find them. She never thought she was about to falling for him in a million years. Will he be able to save them and bring them back home to her or will they be alive or dead? I highly recommend this book and you won't be disappointed. I received advance copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving my honest review. Trina Jones
Roger and Harper story is an interesting one. They have known each other most of Harper’s life since her dad is Roger’s mentor and friend. It was interesting to see how the author would bring them together with such a big age gap. I thought it was done well. The rest of the story was well written, but didn’t hold my interest as much as the previous books in the series. I don’t think it is because of any fault in the writing just my personal preferences. It was fun to reconnect with past characters. All in all, still a good quick read. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Fearless is full of suspense, danger and has many twists and turns in the plot. Harper is the daughter of the deputy director of the FBI who has gone missing along with his wife, while on an anniversary trip. She is also a special agent with the FBI and when her boss will not allow her to be on the task force searching for her parents, she hires the Shining Knight Protection team. Her dad’s best friend Roger Cavanaugh began working with them when he retired from the FBI. In order to go undercover to the resort her parents went missing from they must engage in a marriage of convenience. Pick up this book to read of their adventures.
What a great read. This age gap romance was handled so well and the storyline and characters were artfully done making this one enjoyable read. This book is part of a series, but it can be read as a standalone. I don't think you will want to though. This is a story packed with action, emotion, finding family outside of blood, character growth and so much more. It is a clean read and with a Christian perspective without shoving it down your throat. Definitely a 5 star read.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love this series. This is Roger's story. Roger is upstanding, fiercely loyal, handsome and in his forties. Harper is strong, independent, loyal and is thirty. She has had a huge crush on Roger since she was 18. Roger had noticed Harper as a woman much later than Harper noticed him as a man, but Roger has held back because he is not only much older than Harper but he is also her Dad's best friend. When situations happen that force a marriage between the two sparks fly but will they continue? There is romance, intrigue and lots of action in this book. I would highly recommend it.
Perfect ending to an awesome series!! This book was well-written, fast paced, and had excellent character development! I’m usually able to figure out who the bad guys are, but Madison kept me guessing (over and over again!) right up to the end. In my opinion, this series should be read in order as each book contains spoilers for the ones before it. And I definitely recommend the entire series! I’m sorry to see the series end but I’m looking forward to seeing where Madison takes us next :-) I received a free copy of this book and am leaving a voluntary, honest review.
