A decade of living alone and broken-hearted has transitioned into a relationship with two beautiful, complex women, with rewards I could never have anticipated. After nearly a year together, Lexie, Olivia, and I are deeply in love and starting to plan our future.
But the path to a happy life with the people you love is never as simple as it appears.
My plan to send the girls back to school to finish their degrees begins to unravel as it becomes clear that one of them may not get admitted. What I’d planned as a celebratory trip to Hawaii is further complicated by growing attraction between my daughter Maddie and her friend Meredith.
As we struggle to navigate these complications, our life is upended by turmoil in Lexie’s family and a cry for help from her younger sister. With so many emotions on a collision course, I’m faced with a decision that could change everything.
Bikini Dawn is a multi-POV, explicit, age-gap, menage romance with emotional drama, no cheating/NTR, and a HEA.

This is a good continuation of the series. I know it is going to sound weird, but I find it amazing that I can pick up wisdom from the most unusual places. Who would have thought one could pick up life lessons from fantasy books, much less erotic fantasy books, but that has happened. The thing I like about this series and the MC is that everything is about effort. He has passion with his cooking, so he takes the time and effort to do it well. It comes across to everyone in his life. He has a passion about his family and taking care of them, making sure he is always supportive and does what needs to be done. That also comes across to the people in his life. Then there is his love life. He puts just as much effort into his relationships, which is why they work. The key take away for life from this is that he can only take out as much as you put in. Life takes effort. Relationships take effort. Anything worth any value takes effort. At is wasn't just Ethan. The woman in his life are doing the same. They walk around the house without bras and underboob shirts because they know he likes it. They want to make him sandwiches because he does the same for them. They love it when he does things like that for them and they want to feel good by returning the favor. These are all simple little things that make the biggest impact on day to day life. How many marriages would be better if the wifes would wear their husbands favorite outfit more often? Or if they just went out of their way to do or say something nice to him? How many marriages would be better if husbands did things that their wives wanted and not things that they want her to want? Then there is the sex in a relationship. I don't think any marriage therapist has ever heard: " My wife started giving me more blowjobs and it completely ruined the relationship". We can expand that to sex in general. Can you imagine a couple having more sex and saying their relationship got worse? (as long as they were only have sex with each other).
The throuple has been together for close to a year now and things are going well. The girls are waiting to hear about getting into school and they decide to take a vacation to Hawaii with the daughter and her other friend. This leads to some new developments. Overall, I really enjoyed this series. I gotta wonder if there are any more in the pipeline or if this will be the last one.
I have read several books by this author. He is hit and miss for me - I like some of his works while other books of his I find meh.
I grabbed the first book of this series out of curiosity (same reason I got the first book in the Makalang series - my first thought was WTF?).
I wasn't expecting reality, as this author's books are not even close to reality. Don't expect reality and you won't be disappointed. Just smack the "I Believe" button and read on. Sure some older guy is going to get two (at the end of this book 3) hot, bikini-model worthy women who share his bed and life as well as each other.
Most of this author's stories involve one man with a harem of bi-sexual women who all share him. Reality? No. A fun read? Perhaps, YMMV.
I like some harem stories, and this author has written several that I enjoyed. I also like that this is set in more modern times (rather than a fantasy world) and is set in an area I am somewhat familiar with as I was stationed in San Diego with the Navy back in the mid to late '80s.
I like how the author dealt with the parents of one of his girlfriends not liking her life choices. I am apprehensive about the younger sister of one of the girlfriends that just moved in. I am wondering if the younger sister is going to join the harem. Depending on how the author writes the additions to the harem, it can be entertaining, or a series ender for me. Since they just added another girlfriend to the harem, suddenly adding another is something that is going to be handled well.
I do like how the author tied this book to another of his Isekai series. Smart move on the author's part as it might bring in more readers.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Back to 5 Stars for this instalment (Bikini Nights was just 4). Well written, well edited and a heartwarming story. Each of the characters are making their way through life with the support of the group.
The sex is both comfortable and good, and the “porn video” nights are fabulous! (There is no video, just lascivious fun.) I think one of the key features is the easy sensuality and sexuality between the characters. It’s compersion at its finest.
This series is really taking off - in just 5 days since publication it’s racked up 130 ratings and 15 reviews. I haven’t seen a review from a Beta reader, although I haven’t looked at them all. For me that’s an indication of the quality of this author’s writing skills.
I don’t find the About this Book to be very accurate, but I don’t want to reveal any spoilers. Enjoy the twists, turns and surprises, I did.
5 Solid Stars - can’t wait for the next instalment.
Excellent continuation of this very FUN read!!! When the next issue comes out I will snap it up as I have setup a watch for it. The erotic scenes were !!!. I am disappointed with Amazon’s notification service as I found the release my self before it was in emails. REALLY enjoyed this book!
This edition moves forward with grace and positivity as previous ideas close and new ones emerge. Meredith joining the family feels right on so many levels. Lexie and Olivia getting into school opens new horizons for them personally as well as the family dynamic. I truly enjoy the kind and loving relationship story that offers hope and hopefully more books. Great job Michael!
Ethan is a REAL teddy bear that loves women and wants to help when at all possible. His love and warm support of his girls is wonderful. His harem is now full and his life is also as he is looking at a bright future for himself and family. Can't wait for the next in the series!
I've really, really enjoyed this series. Beth was an interesting point in the story but it was dealt with in a solid manner as was Meredith. I'm interested in seeing where the story goes and where the end point is for Ethan and the girls, I never expected the 2nd book let alone the 3rd and 4th that's coming but I am very happy that it continued.
Love this type of book from this author. I look forward to going along on this ride. I enjoy this universe and all it many characters. I want to warn people that are reading the other books in the barbarian series that this one has spoilers. This is my only complaint. I didn't read shifter girls because of book 6 of demon hunters. So its happened before but still love the books. Thank you Mr Dalton
I really enjoy this series long may it last, the mixture of relationship development, cooking, solving work and personal problems - with firm diplomacy and politeness, and the gentle romance and affection, nice.... I would like a collection of the cooking recipes!
I've really loved this series. It's a great story and well written. I wish so much time had not passed between books 2 and 3 but understood it was for some of the developing plot lines. Still I really enjoyed this. Can't wait for the next one.
I enjoyed the story but it’s a quick read that indulges in the fantasy. There are a couple of scenes early on that seem to be the author using the characters to (perhaps) respond to criticism and feedback from people who’ve read the first two books. Thankfully this doesn’t go on too long and it does help with some character development. Overall, the story is fine but follows the same pacing and “event structure” as the previous books. That said, I do appreciate the author making each character feel unique and not cookie cutter like other poly-romance stories. The addition of meta references to other works by the author as well as the self awareness of Ethan planning to write a book about their relationship and call it Bikini something is a fun touch. This kind of comment though made me worry that this would be the final book but thankfully the author has already indicated the fourth book is forth coming (see what I did there? Forth … coming … hint, hint, the relationship went from three to four, so play on forth sounding like fourth). Ethan’s two sons still have not made a direct appearance in the story or interacted with the girlfriends but if they ever do appear then that could get awkward or ruin the spell of this tale. So, Ethan continues to live out his fantasy world and is blessed with great fortune. This remains a book of escapism without being to overtly vulgar or hung up on body image issues. Thus, I look forward to the next book.
Did you get sucked into the "Romance for Men" sales pitch expecting something more than a triple X movie-like story? I did and was thoroughly disappointed so far with how this series evolved. Does the story drive the plot for love, or does the sex drive the plot for the sake of sex? This series quickly devolved into mindless reading with descriptions of poly-sexual relationships with very few believable love/romance aspects. The book is full of trope-typecast-sexual descriptions and fantasies that most 16-year-old boys have now seen on the Internet. I was expecting a love story with a high heat level, and instead, we got porn on the page. I was looking for something more profound, not counted-in-inches-wise, but soul-touching heat-wise. That being said, if you like male-dominant erotica with group harem things, this may be for you- but if you are looking for something to touch your soul that warms your heart from a male perspective, look elsewhere.
A wonderful blend of emotional growth, love, and real world issues that transforms this from a basic story to a terrific piece of literature. I'm sure many would say that praise is to high for this type of literature - I disagree. Start with a great writer, Shakespeare for instance; his works describe a human condition and the need to overcome that condition. This author achieves that goal in this series. Wonderful writing! Bring on Book 4!
Bit of a step down in this series, and it wasn't that great to begin with. That whole 'Meredith having recurring dreams of being in a harem fantasy novel' was stupid as hell. There's not one woman on this planet who's had that. I don't know if Dalton was trying to promote another series of his by tying it in like that, or if he just couldn't come up with any more believable way for Meredith to be pretty much immediately on board with the whole polyamoury thing, but it was pretty lame.
I listen to a lot of fantasy smut harem books with magic systems, stats, and all that, which I thoroughly enjoy. I've finished the first three books in this series, and it's been a refreshing change of pace. The series is exceptionally well-written, grounded in reality, and an absolute blast to experience. The spicy scenes are fantastic, and I can't wait to dive into the next book! Writers like Michael inspire me to start working on my own book.
4.5 stars. This is rated on overall reading experience, and overall it was quite good. A few low-intensity threats to introduce a bit of drama, but otherwise a pretty easy read. Even more cross-over with the author's fantasy series too. I did my usual skimming of the sex scenes, but I do find the relationship dynamics of a well-written poly relationship interesting.
I've read the first two books in the series, and things do not get much more interesting - more of the same, but with less passion. Most of the characters seem cardboard cutouts/NPC's in a video game. The protagonist's ex-wife that appeared in the last book and seemed a bit more intriguing - nothing about her.
Slice of life, May-December romance, poly relationships, adult situations
Characters continue to develop. Pacing continues at a decent speed, and dialogue is good. Editing is above average. Ethan, Olivia, Lexie explore adding another woman to their family. Enjoyed. Have book 4.
The characters continue to grow together and, as they face new problems, rise to the occasion and overcome them. Great storytelling by this author. Can’t wait for the publication of Book 4.
I love the way the story has progressed, I kinda figured this would be the last one, but I'm excited there will be at least one more. I don't know how much the story is left to tell, but I look forward to it.
I loved the way the threads developed the several seperate stories of each of the characters; and the gentle hints of “Dark City Girls”. Will Papa Bear get that snip reversed?
This one went in a slightly different direction but still picks up from the last book in a good way. Love the character interactions. I also enjoy encountering other series characters and references.
This has been a MORE interesting series cause it keeps adding layers and different elements to the storyline. It has gone from 2 to 3 female's who love 1 male I'm interested to see if anymore females are added it's getting VERY VERY good can't wait for the next book😁👍🏿
Pretty basic mens romance. Want to read a very, very competently executed story about a guy in a polycule with two much younger women? If so, then this is the book for you! If not, then there's not much else happening here, so you probably won't like it.
I love leaving reviews for Michael's books. In my sweet little imagination this is the story of his life. How about that Michael. I'm seeing you sit on some nice mountain. I can't wait for the next one
A very enjoyable sequel of Ethan and his unconventional romance. The characters truly grow together with loveable banter between each other that's truly real.
