We all know the story. Boy meets girl. Boy falls in love with girl. It's a tale as old as time. Well, it was... until the day I met him.

Julien Jameson appears to have it all. He’s the quintessential golden boy. Confident. A star athlete. Popular. Adored by everyone. And completely in love with his best friend since childhood, Liz Fairchild. But when he meets Elijah Barnes, everything changes.

________

“Can I tell you three really important things?” Elijah asked.

I reclined back on my pillows again, that panicky feeling starting to abate. “Go for it."

“Thing number one. You have the most beautiful gray eyes I have ever seen. I dream about your eyes. The way they look like liquid silver, and how they shine when you smile.”

My breath hitched at his romantic words.

“What’s the second thing?”

“Everything will be okay. Things with your brother. Things with Liz and Ryder. I’m a believer that stuff happens in life for a reason. If it didn’t, I wouldn’t have met you.”

I melted a little at his statement. “What’s the third thing?”

“One day, when you’re ready, I’m going to kiss you.”

I know I did not just read what I just read… WHAT?!??

Forever His starts out with best friends Julien, his twin brother Jayson, and Ryder, all being in love with their life long bestie Liz. They have all decided not to act on their feelings as to not ruin the friend group, but things change… While Julien still loves Liz very much, a certain boy has captured his attention—Elijah.

Julien has been secretly crushing on his for ages, but isn’t ready to come to terms with his feelings or sexuality, and keeps Elijah in the friend zone. Lord the patience Elijah has when it comes to Julien! Eventually become a thing, and their story is so sweet, seriously all the warm fuzzies and feel goods, but Julien is still hesitant to go public or tell anyone for fear of his friend and family’s reaction.

AND THEN OUT NOWHERE COMES THE MOST UNEXPECTED ENDING AND I AM 😱 I haven’t read the Fallen Brook series, which apparently would have given me a heads up about the ending of this book and would have made it a little less devastating, so that’s on me. But oh my god, what?!

I’m foaming at the mouth for Elijah’s POV, and about to go binge the Fallen Brook series because in need some answers!

I liked it, but I had so many problems. The pacing was felt off since everything was going really fast like at point it was Thanksgiving and boom never mind it’s new years. Also there was just things happening while there was no growth in the relationship. No joke it was just about Julien saying “Liz this. Liz that.” I just couldn’t anymore also the cliffhanger? I don’t know about that.

*Minor Spoilers*

1.5 stars, rounded. This was honestly one of the worst MM books I’ve ever read. Hell, it might even be one of the worst romance books I’ve ever read. The pacing was terrible. The characters were unbearable. And the plot was rubbish. I understand that the main couple (Elijah and Julien) are from another series, but considering how much I despise love-triangles, I will never touch that series. And honestly, I don’t think I’m missing out considering Liz, Jayson, and Ryder were all god-awful characters…with Ryder and Liz being a little less shitty than Jayson. But holy shit, whenever Jay appeared in a scene, I rolled my eyes so hard; he was the worst brother, friend, and boyfriend because he was too immature, unfaithful (friendship-wise), and selfish. And the fact that he blamed Liz for keeping Julien’s sexuality a secret as if that’s a bad thing??? She literally did the right thing—just because you’re someone’s partner DOES NOT warrant any form of outing. Speaking of Liz, she was made out to be this super special girl, but she was so BORING; why and how the fuck did 3 guys fall in love with her? Like please get some personality, I beg. Ryder was just mediocre, but he wasn’t as bad as Jayson.

Back to the main couple: Elijah was uninteresting as hell and pushy too. Jules was also terrible and annoying; like PLEASE stfu about Liz this and Liz that. WE GET THAT YOU USED TO LOVE HER. And even then, he was constantly saying things along the line of, “I’ve never loved anyone as much as her…except I love you more Elijah!!!” Like dude, stfu and keep that girl’s name out of your mouth for once. The pacing of the relationship went from 3 years within 3 chapters to like 2 chapters dedicated to a week or month’s worth of content. How the fuck are you going to claim you love a dude but love a girl at the same time when the book is specifically not polyamorous; like you loved her so much you had a crush on someone else? Make it make sense. And then you loved Elijah so much yet kept comparing that love to your love for Liz?💀 gtfo

The writing style was not great (surprise, surprise). At first, the vocabulary was impressive and descriptive, but over time, it felt choppy and lackluster. Also, the author had a habit of TELLING instead of SHOWING. Give the audience the opportunity to experience the scene rather than just telling them what happened briefly and then moving forward; that’s not good writing in my opinion. I’m sorry I’m being so harsh in this review but damn, the premise excited me, so I had high expectations. Unfortunately, none were met in any way, shape, or form. The only reason I’m giving this a 1.5 and rounding it in the star rating is because I’ve never rated a book a 1 star rating. For some reason, I don’t feel like breaking that pattern 💀 but don’t mistake that action as me believing this book is anything but bad.

Concerning Maria, she was shitty as well, but Julien’s bias against her for no reason at the start was so annoying. Perhaps I don’t understand his view because she’s barely in any scenes (I’m guessing she was in the other series) but like damn, stop being so judgy about her “bitchy attitude” when there was no evidence of such.

4.5 I hate cliffhangers stars

AN EXCITING AND HEARTFELT LOVE STORY (but!)

This was such a beautiful love story, but also a telling of friendship. I loved Liz, from the bottom of my heart. She was really sweet and supportive. A real ray of sunshine! Honestly, I'm team Ryder - even if I haven't read the original series. I had a better feeling with him than the possessive Jay. But I'm getting off track, because we're here to talk about Julien and Elijah.

Julien was a good character. He was loyal to his friends, wishing the best for Liz and getting out of her way so she could find happiness with someone else. I liked the bond they all had (Julien, Jay, Ryder and Liz), but I LOVED the one Julien and Liz shared, even after he let her go. Although he was still in love with her - which I found a little odd the more the story evolved - he confided in her, displaying some real trust.

About Elijah, I actually had to recreate the way I pictured him later in the book. At first, I thought he was this good-looking and confident guy. When he went to the Fields, he looked so cool through Julien's eyes, like an unapprochable guy. But after some time, I discover he was super sweet and endearing. A real ball of fluff, a complete one-eighty for me! He had an interesting background that added some layers to their relationship and played a role in Julien's way of handling his coming-out.

When they were together, it was a real firework. I was blown away by their love. Actually, I was swooning and smiling like a lunatic, when Elijah asked Julien out for the first time. Their relationship was a bit complicated to grasp by moments, because of Julien's stand on loving Liz forever. But I loved them together. However, reading Epilogue I, I wanted to murder Julien, throw the book away and give it a 1 star rating... I'm not even exagerating!

But what made me rate this book less than 5 stars is linked to the way it was written. More than a spin-off, I'd call it a companion series. Like I said before, I haven't read the main series - Fallen Brook - and it was obvious to me I lacked quite a few elements that would have fleshed out my understanding of the book. Getting into it, I thought I'd be in the same situation I encountered with #Junkie/#Rev, the M-M spin-off from the Hashtag series. These were full books with their own storyline. I didn't take into account that Julien was displaying parallel events to All our next times, so the author wouldn't retell most things that already happened in it. It was a shame because I most probably missed a few heartfelt conversations between Julien and Liz. Besides, it was frustrating not to know what was really happening inside the triangle romance Jay-Liz-Ry. So I wouldn't necessarily recommend people to read this duet as stand-alones.

I wrote this honest review after receiving a free copy. All opinions are my own.

Choosing Elijah…

Growing up Julian was in love with Liz the girl next door but so was his brother and best friend. They made a pact to not cross that line choosing their friendship.

Senior year brings lots of changes. Ryder wants to ask Liz out but Jayson gets to her first.
Julian must admit that he is bisexual and has had a crush on a boy he met several years before at one of his brothers swim meets, Elijah.

The summer before Senior year Julian chooses Elijah but wants to keep them a secret until he can come out to his twin brother and his parents.

This was an angsty read with lots of ups and downs for all the characters involved.
We do end on a cliffhanger of epic proportions! The next book will be in Elijah’s POV and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

I was lucky to be able to receive an ARC copy of this book and this is an honest review of this story. I really really loved it. As a reader of the fallen Brook series I loved being able to read Julien’s and Elijah’s story. I liked how it showed the build up of their relationship with how they meet and the friendship they formed. I think the struggle Julien has in understanding his attraction to Elijah was done very well. It has some spice but considering it takes place in high-school during their senior year some of the scenes are fade to black. I loved Elijah in the Fallen Brook series but learning even more about him in this story was amazing. It is told all I’m Julien’s pov and book two will be Elijah’s. You don’t have to read the other series to be able to read this one. It ends in a cliffhanger. I look forward to reading their next chapter in this beautiful story.

Let's try this again lmao GR glitched on me

tl:dr if you like teenage drama galore, you'll love this

I'm giving this 5 very accommodating stars and MOSTLY for Elijah (and maybe Fallon) because I loved him so much. It also was not a bad book and it gave me butterflies so there's that.

I'm not going to write a detailed review because I'm tired. But here's a short-ish breakdown:

The relationship between our two MCs begins very early on and is sustained throughout the entire book and it's a secret until like 90% which was baffling how almost no one noticed (only like a few people were aware). I didn't mind it because it felt realistic, but how Julien acted towards my baby Elijah pissed me off on multiple occasions.

Because they get together early on, the relationship and love story between the MCs is not really the main focus. Yes we get a lot of scenes with them, but it's basic relationship stuff. They were cute asf together but it became exhausting when I realized there was no defined plot around them except the whole "let's keep our relationship a secret because I'm not ready to come out yet" and you may ask what happens in the over 300 pages? The side story which is supposed to be a side story overshadows everything else. Basically it's a frustrating love triangle between Julien's twin, his best friend Ryder and Elizabeth who for some freaking reason, everyone is in love with. INCLUDING Julien. I found it so hard to believe in his feelings for Elijah sometimes when the whole time he's talking about being in love with Elizabeth but I guess the way it was written convinced me somehow. I don't know. Like I said, I'm exhausted. This was not a bad book! If you love OTT teenage drama then you'll love this. If you don't, then I don't recommend. The length was too much but it didn't bother me because I was in the mood for it.

I will be reading book 2. There's a smallish cliffhanger and I just want more of Elijah tbh. Loved him.

OKAY JENNILYNN WYER. Way to leave a girl hanging when she’s SO invested! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Surprise, surprise to all readers the cliffhanger will leave you in a chokehold and an incredibly tough book hangover so grab your Aspirin and get a fluffy blanket and snuggle in.

We meet our MCs, Liz, Ryder and twins Jayson and Julien, young and attached at the hip. The three boys are hopelessly in love with their best friend Liz and have been for as long as they can remember. While cheering on Jayson at a school swim meet, the swimmer he beat, Elijah, walks up to their celebrating group and flicks his eye to Julien and then over to Liz — asking for her number. Because these guys are possessive of their little Liz, Elijah is kicked to the curb, but not before he and Julien share some more stolen glances. Flash forward and Julien and Elijah have been running in to each other despite being from different towns. Julien feels this magnetic pull towards Elijah but struggles with his feelings — he’s not gay… or at least he didn’t think he was. Both Julien and Elijah fall head over heels for each other and when a year passes of their beautiful love story, Julien decides to stop hiding and tell his family about Elijah. It was the best day of Julien’s life…. until it wasn’t.

LET 👏🏼 ME 👏🏼 TELL 👏🏼 YALL 👏🏼 when I got to the end of this book, I about chucked my Kindle at the wall. I have recently gotten into MM romances because their stories are so pure and so full of love it hurts my heart to read. Jennilynn Wyer did not disappoint me AT ALL in telling the story of Julien and Elijah. They are two young kids trying to work through not only being a teenager but falling head over heels in love with someone of the same sex. Unfortunately there is a lot of apprehension with Julien telling the world Elijah is all his forever, but Elijah also isn’t the greatest communicator. Wyer shows us readers that no matter how much you love someone, no relationship is perfect and if you’re willing, you will sacrifice a lot to be with that person. I will admit the love triangle going on with the foursome was not as much fun for me but I realize without it, we would never really know Julien. I SPED through this book because Wyer had me on a chokehold the whole way through. The writing, the story telling, the spice?! all 5/5 for me!

The only thing that I am upset by is the second one doesn’t come out for SO long! The cliffhanger truly wrecked me. I am invested and if you’re a fan of a pure love story, filled with happiness and sadness and tear jerking confessions, this is it for you! I am tapping my fingers impatiently for Elijah’s perspective in book #2 and I don’t think I’ll be any less hungover when I finish that book either — I’ll just prepare early!

*Their story begins during the Fallen Brook trilogy so if you have read this trilogy, you already know these precious humans. I have not read the trilogy making the story’s ending a surprise to me, thus why I am so devastated about the end of this book*

Rating: 5/5 ⭐️
Spice: 4/5 🌶️

Forever His is the first book in the trilogy and this needs to be read before you start Forever Yours (coming soon hopefully).
I was hooked on these characters from the beginning. We meet these group of four friends: Julien and his twin Jayson, Ryder and Liz. They all have a thing for Liz, but they won’t do anything about it because no one wants to risk their friendship. But no other guy can ask her out either… they are really protective of her. But then we mee Elijah at a swimming competition where Jayson entered. Julien is immediately attracted to him, but he doesn’t know how to deal with these feelings.
As years go on, they meet each other again, and they start to explore.
I really loved this book, all from Julien’s POV, and I’m really looking forward to the next book in Elijah’ POV, picking up where the first book ended.
I got to see how Julien (over a span of a couple of years in the book) grows and starts to acknowledge he just could have feelings for not only girls, but also boys. The struggle he’s having was hard to read sometimes, but it’s real. Elijah is a very patient young man, trying to help Julien where he can, while also having troubles at home and trying to deal with that.
And then I knew there would be a major cliffhanger, but I did not see this coming, I was like ‘what just happened here?’ and I am so curious for how this will continue.

Omg I’m crying right now. Like WHAT!!!!

This book was so sweet and beautiful. I love Julian and Elijah so much!! Their relationship, while having its ups and downs, is so special.

Brothers Julian and Jaysen and their friend Ryder have always liked their friend Liz. Not wanting to jeopardize their friendship they agree that neither one of them would confess their feelings to her. Unknown to the others Julian finds himself having feelings for Ryder as well.

Fast forward years later and Julian meets Elijah at a swim meet. They instantly lock eyes. He then sees Elijah again at Ryders dirt bike race. They exchange numbers and their friendship slowly progresses to more.

While Elijah’s father knows he’s gay, Julian is more reserved. He’s hesitant about coming out to his family and friends.

I love how they bring out the best in each other. I honestly could not get enough of their love for one another. I read this in basically two hours. I couldn’t put it down.

This is their story from Julian’s POV and it was beautiful!!! I haven’t read the other books in the Fallen Brook series but trust me I will be.

My first read from Author Jennilynn Wyer and I’m a instant fan. I loved everything about this book, the storyline kept my interest, I love the dynamic between all the characters and the cliff hanger ending crushed me, can’t wait for book 2.

This is the beginning of Julian and Elijah’s story. It’s a friends to lovers romance set in their teenage years. From their first meeting through to the end of high school. Told from Julian’s POV.

Forever His respectfully addressed teenager issues, friendship and fears of LGBTQI teens.

This is my first read from this author and I really enjoyed this story.

Julien and Elijah are a beautiful couple and whilst I didn’t like the way some things went down they worked it out. This friends-lovers secret relationship really brought the emotions and I cannot wait to see where this story goes in book two because that ending was a hard one!

Julien has only loved one person since he was six and that's his best friend Liz so when he meets Elijah Barnes at a swim meet and it ignites strange feelings in him he's left conflicted, after spending time together and both confessing to having feelings for each other even with Julien still confused they agree to take things slow in terms of a friendship.
What I love was the Patience and kindness Elijah had for Julien within their friendship, the patience in having Julien figure out things in his own without pressure and the kindness in hearing all his fears and acknowledging them without offense being taken.
I loved how their relationship was built on friendship first and the way it blossomed into a strong relationship eventually giving Julien the strength,Love and comfort to embrace his sexuality and loving Elijah enough to love him openly.

What a stunning book, I was captivated from the first page!
I had not read any of The Fallen Brook trilogies before, I went into this book blind!

Julien Jameson can always sense when Elijah Barnes is near him, then he realized that the feelings are mutual!
So many challenges face Julien, living in a small town, coming out to his family, and high school drama all this he faces with a truth, a truth that he knows who he is.

Elijah cares for Julien deeply the tolerance he showed Julien is astounding
This is an excellent book with every character engaging.
I loved every word, great storytelling, a brilliant read.
I cannot wait for Elijah’s story…….

Throughly enjoyed it!!
I received an ARC copy of this book from Story Origin and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.
This is Julien's story about accepting that he is bisexual, how he has feelings for Elijah and well as his best friend Liz. Frightened of being rejected by his family and friends, Julien struggles to come to terms with his love for Elijah.
Brilliant storyline, wonderful characters and can't wait to read Elijah's story next.

I loved this book!! I read the Fallen Brook trilogy awhile ago and also the first ARC called Julien before it was re-edited and republished as this and loved the story! I loved seeing things through juliens eyes. And I loved Elijah originally but I love him even more now!!! I think julien was always my favorite but this just cemented that fact. He’s such a sweet, fun loving, protective, warm hearted character.

This book has all the coming of age, warm fuzzy feelings with emotional turmoil and teenage angst thrown in. It’s better if you’ve read Fallen Brook so you understand the other relationships and the friend dynamic. You will already know how the story ends, but we don’t know how we got there. I can’t wait to keep reading. Elijah’s POV is up next and I know we’re gonna be in for it 😭😭

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Once upon a time there is a princess (Liz) that has three princes'. However when one of those princes'(Julien) meets his own his prince, Elijah Barnes, everything changes.
This is a fabulous young love romance that holds through life changes and friendships that brings tragedy that changes everyone's life.
You will feel that you are right there with these young lovers that you will feel everything they feel.
Hang in there with this cliffhanger it will be worth the wait!

Not quite 4 stars.
Julien is an angsty, overly dramatic story about a group of teens who’ve been friends since they were kids. I had not read the other books in this series, and after this one, I don’t plan to, for various reasons.

Ok, so the story of Julien and Elijah is good. I liked the building of their story over time but there were definitely parts I didn’t enjoy. The dedication that Jayson, Julien, and Ryder have to Elizabeth is over the top. I get a group of young boys having a crush on the same girl. I even understand Julien being bisexual. I do not understand Elizabeth, Jay, and Ryder’s dynamic. Her choosing Jay instead of Ryder (Jay was a jerk a lot of the time), didn’t make sense. I’m sure I would understand more if I had read the other books in the series but first I’m not interested in MF storylines anymore, second the drama between this group is too much, third the end seems like a completely unnecessary complication (for lack of a better word) used just to continue Elizabeth’s storyline.

This book is told from Julien’s POV, but it has a lot of ‘extra’ stuff thats in there from the books about Elizabeth that’s not really necessary in the context of his relationship with Elijah. Their relationship was sweet, and not too easy. This book was somewhere between an angsty YA teen drama and a fully developed M/M romance. There were a good amount of sexy times. Which, if you don’t want to read about underage sex, you should probably avoid this book, but it was a good addition to the story line. My biggest question, which is probably weird, is why are two virgins using condoms? If this book is geared towards teens, then yes, demonstrating safe sex is great. It is categorized as teen & YA fiction, but it’s pretty heavy in places and I’m not sure I would recommend it for teen readers.

Bottom line: if you don’t like angst and teen drama this is probably not a good book for you. If you want to read about teenage insecurities, love triangles, and bullies then absolutely give this one a shot. The writing is good if a little wordy and overly descriptive at times.

Heat: 7/10 (decent amount of sex, but it doesn’t start until about the 50% mark)
Length: 8/10 (it was too long in my opinion. Covering parts of Elizabeth’s story from Julien’s POV wasn’t necessary to tell Julien and Elijah’s story)
Angst/drama: 9/10 (over the top)
Believability: 7/10 (Elijah and Julien were not nearly careful enough to keep their relationship hidden)
Overall: 7/10 (would cautiously recommend if someone was looking for a relationship about teens. I’m not sure if I’ll read the next book from Elijah’s POV)

Julian - Fallen Brook Series by Jennilynn Wyer

There is a reason why “Julien” is a “Contemporary Romance Writers 2021 Stiletto Contest Finalist.” What a beautifully written story by Award Winning Author Jennilynn Wyer.

Oh Julien! My sweet, sweet Julien! Julien Jameson has always been one of my favourite Fallen Brook Series characters. He was always the one in the background. Stepping back to make sure everyone else was happy and OK. Always, putting himself second. Yet, there was always something more to this beautiful and amazing young soul. I am so happy he got his own book and we are able to see things from his POV.

Julien is the soccer star at school, has a twin brother Jayson and two best friends he loves Elizabeth and Ryder. He’s been in love with Elizabeth forever. Until he met Elijah Barnes. It’s a story about the coming of age, dealing with confusion of growing up and falling in love, dealing with one’s sexuality and the pressures of society. Not to mention the ups and downs, added with a little bit of “cliffhanger-ing” at the end that this authors ALWAYS does do well.

Julien and Elijah’s story will capture your attention straight away. You see the way their beautiful story starts and comes to fruition with purpose. It’s beautiful to see how they “figure it out” together and with the support of some of their friends. The figuring it out doesn’t always come so easy and does come with some challenges like every day life does. What I loved about the story was how they didn’t give up on each other and they’re figuring it out.

The story is a reminder to us all, your heart has a mind of its own. We don’t always get choose who we love. However, we do get to choose how to act on it. Love ❤️ is Love ❤️ is Love ❤️ I really hope you read this book. It will make your heart happy. I’m so looking forward to reading book 2. I have no doubt it will be just as amazing! Happy reading!

Well, I just want to swoon over Julien and Elijah. Jennilyn has you falling in love with both Julien and Elijah right from the beginning. From their sweet talk, lustful eyes and their hot bodies. They are the perfect couple that belongs together but have a few bumps in the road to get over.

Julien, his twin Jay, his friend Ryder and Liz had been friends since grade elementary school. All three of the guys have and do love Liz but Julien has been having feelings or thoughts about the hot guys he sees, for one Ryder. How can he love Liz but be attracted to Ryder. He meets Elijah at one of Jay's swim meets. He finds him hot and handsome but when Elijah asks Liz for her number, he figured that was it. But wait did Julien think that he was bi? Years later he bumps into Elijah and finds out that Elijah is not into Liz and never was. Will Julien come to terms with the fact that he likes Elijah a lot? Can he let his feelings come to the surface and tell Elijah that he wants to try a relationship? What will happen when Liz and Jay find out that he loves Elijah? Will they be accepting of it? When things blow up and Liz takes off, how will he react?

Jennilyn writes an outstanding and gripping story of a boy coming to terms that he likes guys but also has feelings for girls. She covers the topic beautifully and with care. Yes, it gets hot between them but they are two people that are like any other couple that is madly in love. Warning there is a cliffhanger at the end that will make you want to scream.

I have never been disappointed in any of Jennilyn's books and this one is one of her best. It is hot, sweet, intriguing and full of love.

I received an ARC from the author and am leaving a voluntary review.

Julien is book one in an m/m duet in the Fallen Brook Series.
I had been looking forward to reading this and it didn’t disappoint. It was a deliciously unexpected read.
It’s sweet at times, intense, sad, traumatic. Has a bit of everything. So much going on, it will leave you needing more and anxiously waiting for book 2!
I wasn’t really sure what to expect but wow. Julien is a mess and everything with Liz?!?! Wow. This is all going to sound very cryptic but honestly if something you need to go into fairly blind. I definitely don’t want to ruin anything for readers.
Elijah…… my heart melts and breaks for him. He’s constantly got Julien’s back but if only he knew some stuff.
I really like Elijah. He’s caring, sweet, will pretty much do anything for Julien. He deserves so much.
It’s ended on such a note that I really need Elijah’s book (book 2 in the duet) now. I need to find out how this ends!
This book will keep you on the edge of your seat hanging on by a thread. It’s a real page turner.
The author definitely knows how to put pen to paper and keep the words flowing.
Would highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Most reviews say if you don't like OTT teen drama then this book isn't for you, well I guess that's me.
For me this felt like it was a book about Julien, Jay, Ryder and the oh so perfect Elizabeth. Julien and Elijahs' story felt like a side story and not the main one. It probably didn't help that the book started out with Julien wishing for Liz instead of his boyfriend who was busy comforting him. Which was made even worse honestly i think Elijah deserves better.
I do NOT like M/F (unless its extremely forbidden/taboo) and this book was constantly reminding me how amazing Elizabeth was and how everyone was inlove with her, even Julien. Who in my opinion made it seem like, he was only with Elijah because he couldn't be with her and there was just too much competition, which just made me dislike the poor girl. It just felt more m/f than m/m.
That ending though, I felt like I started reading a new book, how did we move from teenage drama to

Underwhelming.
If mmromance is what you’re here for then prepare to be massively disappointed. This book was all Liz this, Liz that, Elizabeth there and oh look, it’s all these other [insert lengthy description history and all about all these other] men in Elizabeth’s life.

When it came to the actual mmromantic relationship things moved too fast, at the speed of lighting really. Too fast to the point where no chemistry was gown just as long as they got to that kiss, first whatever and etc. There was no chemistry whatsoever, this story was way more into telling the stories regarding the other friendships than it was about the romance build up between the two. There was no pining, just tell after tell, Elizabeth after Liz…it was a drag. Nothing was shown to us.

Jules kept telling us he liked Elijah. And I was like oh, you do? I didn’t see that. And the nicknaming? Straight outta nowhere.

There was no chemistry.

No tension.

Just a story.

The author is into friendships and Elizabeth, don’t know why they didn’t just give Elizabeth her story instead.

Very very disappointed

It’s rare that you find a book that pulls you in and refuses to let you go. When you find a love story that transcends the ability to sleep because you have to know.

I went into this blind. This is the first book by this author that I’ve ever read. Yet, everything made sense. The childhood awe thar Julien holds for Liz, the love that he and his friends have for her comes strongly off the pages. The coming to age understanding of that love also translates beautifully.

I fell down the rabbit hole with Julien and Elijah and my heart broke whenever anything happened. The cliffhanger made me message the author going holy crap! And I think I need to read her entire back list. That’s how good this book was. I can’t wait to read the next one in this duet.

Realizing you’re different is hard, but love is love. From the love he has for Liz, to the understanding that you can love more than one person. This was also my first purely MM book and it was done perfectly.

Yeah…no. They’re trying to sell us an MM love story where one of the MC is imagining a chick while the other MC is sucking him to make him feel better and then later he thinks to himself that he would give up his lover for the chick to return (and this in an epilogue and not in the beginning of their relationship) . And by the way, why the fuck all the dudes in these books were stupid for that girl? I don’t have the stomach for this shit, they should have made a polyamorous love affair with all the dudes and the golden pussy chick and leave it to that. The word Elizabeth is the most used word in this book for fuck’s sake and the book is really more about her and the string of men in love with her, just like all the other books .🙄 Also it is very clear that this author is mainly focused on MF books and honestly I think she should stick to that because she is sabotaging her own MM characters and their story.

Oh my goodness!!

I am living for the drama in this book!! Living for it! If high school was this dramatic for me, I'd have the best stories to share right now, but alas, my high school experience was very much mediocre compared to this book right here.

I loved this book and all it's drama. The characters were awesome, each one was so well built-up considering this is the first book I've read in this series. I felt like I really knew them just from reading one book. Their personalities, how they act, stuff like that.

I'm so so excited for the second book because that was one heck of a cliffhanger and I NEED to read what happens next!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
