Natalie Dean you have done it again. This book is fantastic! I think this is my favorite in this series. l laughed, I cried, and I prayed for Liam and Margot. This book really spoke to my heart, and I thank you for writing it for us all.
This book is the love story between Liam Keagan and Margot Bennet. This story started back when they were 8 years old, and Margot shared her lunch with him. Liam is a poor boy that sometimes did not even have food on his table. He has had a hard life, but it has made him a much stronger and more understanding man. Margot comes from a well to do family and her dad works at the local bank. They have a very nice home; Margot has a horse, and her dad has provided her with everything he thinks she needed. But her life is happy on the outside and messed up on the inside. She has no self-worth, and she lost her mother at a very young a so she has not had an example to follow, or it seems anyone to really talk to. Her dad knows she has a problem, and he sends her for help, but he does not really understand her problem himself and is not sure how to handle her. He comes down hard on her because that is his way of helping but all of his being strict is causing her to feel more worthless and turn toward what she can control.
Margot went away to college planning to never return to Copper Creek. She dropped out of college and started dancing with the ballet. Something that she was good at, and she loved it. Then she broke her leg and now walked with a limp and could not work her leg as hard as she used to do with rehearsals and shows. So, she returned to Copper Creek. She knew her dad was not going to be happy, but she needed time to decide what she wanted to do with her life now. She returned home to her dad that she loved, her horse Prada that she adored, and her friend Liam. Prada was a sire from her mother's horse, and she loved that horse, and it is the only thing left of her mother. And if Liam had his way, they would grow to be more than just friends.
I am proud to say that I am on the ARC team for Natalie and will be happy to leave my review.
Some Cowboy's Are Just Friends is a love story that almost did not come to life. At eight years old Liam fell in love with Margot. He had grew into a very handsome man and any father in Cooper Creek would be proud for him to want to marry their daughters, all but Rhett Bennet. When Margot came back home knowing she had messed up bad, her father is not easy on her. Liam makes sure when he sees her that they talk. He keeps trying to get Margot to give him a chance. Margot seems to try to mess it up at every turn. Liam suspects something is wrong with Margot but he can't get any answers from her. She tells him she is breaking up as she is going back to college out of town. Liam feels like he has lost the love of his life. After Margot is gone for a couple of months he can't get over her. But she has not called him since she broke up with him. Where did she go back to college? Only one person knows, and as bad as Liam hated to talk to him he is going to find out.
This is a wonderful and interesting story. Liam Keegan is the one that everyone in Copper Creek seems to like. He is quiet and a hard worker. Even his boss Mr. Callahan notices he has no interest in dating. That all changes when his school crush returns from her dancing career in New York. Margot returns to her dad’s home when she seems to fail at everything she tries. She quit both Juliard and Columbia to become a Prima Ballerina but when she broke her leg and developed a limp that career choice is out of the question. Margot has a dilemma that only she can resolve but she also has a hidden eating disorder. When she and Liam meet back up, he is her only support. He tries to help her but her father thinks he is the one dragging her down. Will Liam be able to fight for his love?
TRIGGER WARNING: Deals with mental illness. Her life is imploding and the last place she wants to be is the only place she can go. He's loved her for years but can't get out of the friend zone. Will she open up to him and let him in? How far will she spiral? What does their families feel about everything? Where can they go from here? I received a copy of this book from the author. Review voluntarily given.
This is a well written book with strong characters in Liam and Margot. The author once again brings an intriguing story as she brings them together from friends to so much more. She moves the story fluidly with her descriptive scenes and kept me glued to the pages. I enjoyed and would recommend reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and are freely given.
I began reading this book last night and am completing it around 5 in the a.m. The talent of this author.... Each book she has written that I have read is incredibly interesting and intriguing. Watching each of the Keagans find their mate is so exciting!! Each one of them are unique and their relationships are uniquely theirs.
Some Cowboys Are Just Friends is a clean, second chance romance. Margot’s leg injury ended her ballet career plus she deals with hidden insecurities. Liam has loved Margot since he was 8 years old. Ms. Dean’s well written book is a story of love, healing, forgiveness and second chances that kept me reading far too late at night.
Wow this subject matter is a real hard one to talk about as there are so many people that fight this problem and seem to hide it very carefully. The author was even good at hiding the real problem until the right time to keep us guessing. Great job of writing.
This is the story of a young woman who was an accomplished ballet star only to have an accident and broke her leg leaving her with a small limp. She came back home and started a new life but ran into problems with what to do, who to believe and how to make something of herself. Thos is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
Margot was a tiny woman because she an eating disorder that she kept secret through her growing up years and even after that. Her daddy wasn’t a patient man either, but her boyfriend Liam was. even though he was blind to her “illness”. She met a new friend that knew exactly what was happening. Enjoy and learn about eating disorders.
The Keagans have been an interesting family to follow. Grumpy, hardworking, fiercely loyal to family, untrusting, loyal are all words that could describe them. A broken leg has ended Margot’s career as a ballerina and sent her home, dependent on her father (he won’t win Father of the Year). Liam Keagan does what he does best, cares for her and tries to support her. Margot doesn’t make that easy. As expected, the author gives us an interesting story line, well-developed characters, humor, anger, and a few unexpected twists. I look forward to the next book.
What a wonderful story. Liam and Margot are old acquaintances from school. She heads off for NewYork to dance in the ballet. An injury ends her career and she comes home but struggles with depression. Liam doesn’t know that Margot went away for treatment where she meets Courtney and is encouraged to open a dance studio.
margot was a dancer that broke her leg and has some other problems. liam is a cowboy that tries to help her . this is a wonderful story about second chances and forgiving others and ourselves. i was given a copy of the book but this is an honest review
This story dealt with a hard issue of mental illness. While it was hard to see the characters struggle with it, the way it was dealt with and the romance between them was beautiful.
I was really impressed with this story from Natalie Dean. Tackling the theme of mental health and showcasing it in a positive light is not an easy feat, but she did it beautifully. The story of Margot and Liam was phenomenal, and I enjoyed reading it!
