I absolutely loved this story! Once I started reading it I could not put it down! If you like the Best friends to lovers trope and Christian suspense, this is perfect.

Texas Range Felicity is heading back home to reopen the murder case of her babysitter. Years ago, she was there when your babysitter was murdered but amnesia made it hard to recall anything about what happened that night. But now armed with years of experience and her detective friend Noah, she is finally ready to solve the murder. But it seems her coming back in town threatens the murderer on the lose... putting her at risk, and her loved ones. Speaking of loved ones, Noah and Felicity have always been close and she's been there for him through the loss of his parents and wife. He is determined to stand by her in this. At first he thought it was his friendship with her that makes him want to protect her. But as time passes he realizes , as well as her, that they are developing feelings for each other. But the timing is all bad. A murderer is on the loose, and they both are a target. First they need to find out who is after them and then they can see if they can be more than friends.

The suspense was spot on in this story and the chemistry (and kisses if I'm honest) were so perfect, I loved it. I truly believed their feelings for each other and was totally rooting for them! I can not wait to read the next book in this series.

I always enjoy stories that have a cold case wrapped up into the storyline. Ranger Felicity Capshaw lost a babysitter, who was more like a friend years ago when she was brutally murdered. She knows that she may hold the key to solving this cold case since she was there, in the house when it happened. Heading back to Knoxville she is determined to solve this case, not only for herself but for her family. As she starts digging into everything, it seems someone is bound to keep this murder forever unsolved and now Felicity is in the crosshairs of being the next victim. Will she be able to unlock the memories that have hidden themselves from the traumatic event or will she become another unsolved case herself? I really enjoyed this one and how fast it read. I loved the characters and how everything untangled to reveal the truth of what happened that night and why. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

get ready for nonstop danger and excitement in fractured memories!

texas ranger felicity capshaw witnessed a murder as a teenager—but she can't remember what exactly happened. now, she's determined to solve the cold case (and hopefully, unlock her repressed memories) with the help of an old friend, detective noah hodge. as they get closer and closer to uncovering the truth, the more and more danger stalks them at every turn. will felicity and noah catch the criminals—before the criminals catch them?

there's action and twists aplenty in fractured memories, making it quite a quick read. it was so interesting to see the pieces of the case begin to fit together, revealing the truth of the murder from years ago—while also giving felicity and noah the chance to reconnect as more than friends. their romance felt natural amidst the chaos of the investigation, and i enjoyed getting to know them and seeing them together.

fractured memories is a great read for fans of inspirational romantic suspense!

(i received a complimentary copy from the publisher. i was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions i have expressed are my own.)

considerations:
—language: none
—spice: kisses only
—faith: mentions of God, church, and prayer

Fractured Memories is the first book I’ve read by Lynn Shannon, and I loved it! It’s just the type of book that I can read in a day because I can’t put it down. This suspense had me completely captivated!

If you had blocked out a memory of a traumatic event, would you want to remember it? My automatic response would be no; however, if it was a murder and someone I loved was killed, my answer would be yes. I’d want the killer to face justice. That’s exactly what pushes Texas Ranger Felicity Capshaw to open the cold case in which her babysitter was murdered. Felicity was a teen at the time, and the killer had no idea she was in the house too. Now that killer has Felicity in their sights and wants her dead. With the help of her childhood friend Noah Hodge, who’s now a detective, Felicity attempts to revisit and reclaim her lost memory.

This was so exciting with just enough balance between the active investigation and “real” life. Since Noah is a widower with a toddler, he’s determined to keep his relationship with Felicity in the friend zone. The romantic feelings that develop between the two make it hard for him to stick to that zone. I really enjoyed watching their relationship go from friends to more. It was very sweet, and I loved seeing how Felicity interacted with Noah’s daughter. I also appreciated the element of faith and trusting in God.

If you love inspirational romantic suspense, you need to read Fractured Memories! I give it 5 stars!

This exciting friends to more suspense story kept me guessing. Felicity and Noah were friends who had been apart for awhile due to the trauma that Felicity went through as a teen, yet they stayed close. Felicity cared about widowed Noah and his two year old daughter and really felt for what he had gone through losing his wife.

The danger for Felicity showed up very quickly in the story and it was clear that whoever had gotten away with the murder of Felicity’s babysitter for so long did not want to take the chance that Felicity would regain those lost memories.

I liked that Felicity and Noah were both strong and confident in their jobs in law enforcement. I have only read one other book by this author, but I did not have any trouble jumping in and feeling like I understood the friendships and relationships in this community. There is a solid faith thread that works well with the storyline and strengthens the bond between the main characters.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

The suspense in Fractured Memories starts almost right away and doesn’t let up! As Felicity tries to remember details of the night her friend was killed, someone seems determined to make sure she doesn’t have a chance to remember! Noah, Felicity, and various police and Texas Rangers work together to find answers and stop the escalating crimes. There are plenty of twists and turns, unanswered questions, and nail biting! Great story, and it was fun reconnecting with characters I’d “met” in previous books! I’ll anxiously await the next book in this new series!

This is a well written friends to lovers romance with strong characters in Felicity and Noah. She does a great job developing the story and paints her scenes perfectly. She takes you into their lives with chemistry and drama and kept me turning the pages with the action, suspense, murder and mystery. She moves the story fluidly and delivers a thrilling read.

This was my first Lynn Shannon book and I’m definitely going to add more of her books to my TBR. I read Fractured Memories in one sitting. I loved that the suspense began almost right away. Fractured Memories moved at fast pace without sacrificing any of the finer details of a mystery. I thought the plot was really interesting. I kept going back and forth about who I thought Brooke’s killer was. There were many layers to the mystery, but it was easy enough to follow. The romance between Noah and Felicity was really sweet. They had been friends since childhood but the romantic feelings didn’t make themselves known until after Noah’s wife died. The progression of the relationship seemed natural and not forced for the sake of the story.
The faith elements also seemed very natural and not thrown in just to be able to call it a Christian romance. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would recommend to anyone who love Christian romantic suspense.

*I was sent a complimentary copy with no expectations of a favorable review.

Fractured Memories is the first book I have read written by Lynn Shannon and I am this will not be the last. I sure have gotten bitten by the Christian Suspense/ Romance Suspense genre this year, and I am not mad about it. I sincerely enjoy a good Christian suspense. Fractured Memories was a quick and easy read.

The character development was pretty good. I find most suspense and action books to be a little light on the character development. Not in a bad way, there is typically just a lot going on, so the development isn’t a main focus.

The storyline was good. It was fun diving into a law enforcement story. There was a lot of action, so I had to hold on and pay attention, but overall, it was great.

The relationship that unfolded between Noah and Felicity was sweet. I loved the friends to lovers trope. Though with the twist of widower with a child. It gave Felicity a different outlook on their relationship and really think about if she could consider this relationship.

Lynn Shannon did a great job intertwining faith throughout the book. I really appreciated that.

Fractured Memories was such a good book! It had the perfect blend of suspense and romance. The pacing was spot on, and kept me wanting to read to find out what happened.

Felicity and Noah made a great team and I was definitely rooting for them throughout the story, both personally and professionally.

I loved the way all of the characters in the book supported each other and found the ending satisfying. I guessed one part of the plot but another really surprised me!

I also really love the small town setting of the book and it looks like I’ll be able to revisit in future books!

Thank you to the author and publisher for the opportunity to read the book. My positive review was not required.

Fractured Memories was a quick, fun read full of suspense and action from the beginning to the end.

The main characters, Noah and Felicity, had been friends for years before the book began. They had grown up together and had been through many of life's ups and downs. Both were now in law enforcement and working a case together.

It is most definitely a friends-to-more trope which I do enjoy a great deal. The author did a great job of giving back-story to make it believable even though the book itself took place over only a few days (except for the epilogue, of course).

I loved Harper's character. She was the epitome of a precocious 2 year old :) Aunt Imogene was also very lovable.

There were cameos of what I'm assuming were characters from prior books by this author, but it was a great stand alone book and is the first book of a new series.

I am very excited and thankful to review this book today!

Wow! What an exciting start to a new series! Fractured Memories was an edge of your seat romantic suspense that kept me quickly flipping the pages. This is my first book by Lynn Shannon and definitely won’t be my last. I thoroughly enjoyed this cold case mystery filled with a sweet childhood friends to more romance, thrilling suspense, & faith.

Texas Ranger Felicity Capshaw is returning home to reopen the case of her old friend & babysitter who was murdered 10 years ago. Felicity was a witness to the murder but suffers from amnesia. She’s hoping her memories will finally be triggered so she can solve the case. Unfortunately, someone doesn’t want her to remember. As she and her best friend Detective Noah Hodge investigate, they find their lives are constantly in danger. Finding herself falling in love, Felicity struggles with admitting her feelings.

Detective Noah Hodge lost his wife after the birth of their daughter. Now several years later, he’s happy to welcome his childhood friend home. Felicity was there & supported him during the death of his parents & his wife. As he finds his feelings changing, he struggles with introducing a new person into his daughter’s life especially while in the middle of a dangerous investigation. Will he find a second chance at love or will the past come back to destroy his dreams?

I loved the twists and turns in this story! While I had my suspicions as to who the murderer was, it wasn’t until the final chapters that everything came together. The shadowy drug dealers who are involved are ruthless, formidable foes & the suspense was intense as they’re always out to get Felicity. Felicity & Noah worked so well together & I enjoyed all the ways they rescued each other.

The chemistry between Felicity & Noah was off the charts! I loved the romantic tension leading up to their passion filled kisses. I also adored Harper, Noah’s daughter. She was such a darling little girl & it was fun seeing her interactions with Noah & Felicity. Learning to trust in God was beautifully woven into the story & I enjoyed the way Noah & Felicity leaned on their faith throughout.

Highly recommend this nail biting romantic suspense! Looking forward to the next book in the series. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the author but also purchased a copy through Kindle Unlimited. All opinions are my own and voluntarily provided.

Fractured Memories is the first book of the Badge of Honour series by Lynn Shannon. This is a sweet romance wrapped up in danger and a murder mystery.

This is a fantastic mix of sweet, closed door romance, two damaged souls finding love, friends to lovers trope. There is also a lot of action (and injuries) as the two main characters are both in law enforcement and they are trying to solve an old murder in their small home town.

Felicity Capshaw is a Texas Ranger, she had left her hometown but does come back often enough. Her work brings there, but most especially, her widowed best friend who she has known since she was a kid, Noah Hodge. Noah is still healing after the death of his wife, hanging on trying to be a father to their surviving daughter, and on top of that he is a police detective in their hometown. The romance between these two is complicated but is helped along particularly by their cold case.

When she was a teen, Felicity's babysitter was murdered. Felicity saw something but has completely blocked out the entire event from her mind. As a result, the murder became a cold case. A case that Felicity wants to reopen and solve, if not for her peace of mind, but to get justice for someone that she had admired.

I read in the book information that this is tagged as a Christian romance, something I know could turn off some readers, However, I would like to highlight that the Christian aspect is very minimal and is only referenced in the character's spirituality. It is not at all out of place and adds to the gentle atmosphere of romance, which is in stark contrast with the action/ mystery part of the book.

📚 Series: Badge of Honor (Book 1)
🎭 Genre: Romantic Suspense

🥜 In a Nutshell: A Texas Ranger that witnessed a murder when she was young decides to reopen the cold case. As soon as she does, she is immediately under attack by someone that wants the truth silenced.

✅ Fast-paced action
✅ Childhood friends to more
✅ Faith over fear

I always enjoy Lynn Shannon's books because they are fast-paced, easily digestible, and a good blend of romance and suspense. I enjoyed this first book in her Badge of Honor series, although at times I wondered if it wasn't the first book because of other couples referenced. Maybe this series is tied to another series or there is a prequel novella or something. Anyway, I loved the quick pace of this story and I was able to enjoy it all in one day. There was a lot of suspense and a good blend of romance. Felicity had witnessed her babysitter being murdered when she was young but couldn't recall the memories surrounding everything. She felt frustrated by this and wanted to see justice for someone she was close to. Noah dealt with his own loss of his wife that left him raising a daughter on his own and that impacted his job as well as his personal life. Both characters relied on their faith to lead them through the fear holding them back. I loved how close Noah and Felicity were even before the romance bloomed. They had grown up together and cared for each other deeply. The mystery was okay but easily my least favorite part. Luckily it didn't slow down the pace at all. Overall, a really good fast-paced romantic suspense that you could read in an afternoon.

This is a new series which has some of the same characters as The Texas Ranger Heroes Series. I really enjoy this author's style of writing which keeps my attention. There's lots of drama and suspense in her stories which happen from the very first pages of the book. The stories are faith based and clean.

Texas Ranger Felicity Capshaw witnessed a murder as a teenager. She has no memories of the details suffering from traumatic amnesia. Her father took her away from the town after the murder of her babysitter. Now she has returned to Knoxville to reopen the case to try to bring justice for her babysitter. Someone is not happy with her pursuing this case and they are determined to stop her by trying to kill her.

Detective Noah Hodge knew Felicity when they were growing up. They were best friends and she supported him when his wife died leaving him a young daughter to raise. Detective Hodge works for the sheriff's department in Knoxville. He is assigned to work with Felicity on the cold case. Now he is doing all he can to keep her safe while trying to discover who committed the crime.

Felicity and Knox have been friends for a long time but they are both starting to have feelings much deeper than friendship for each other. Can Noah put away his fear of losing another person he loves to move into a relationship with Felicity? Will Felicity decide she can make room in her life for a relationship?.

Fractured Memories was a whirlwind read and I was living for it! I picked it up on a Friday night and it was the perfect way for me to spend a low-key night at home.

This novel does not mess around! From the start, I was hooked and lost all track of time or place as I felt just as included in the investigation as Noah and Felicity are! Noah is a man of courage and honor but what really drew me in was how he is with his sweet little daughter. Being a single parent is no joke and you can learn a lot about a man from how he treats his children. Speaking of children, I loved every single scene with the precocious Harper. Talk about a ray of sunshine and the perfect exhalation in between the more serious and tense scenes where I caught myself holding my breath.

As far as relationships Noah and Felicity’s bond feels so natural. It’s clear they have had a long friendship, and it takes a moment of clarity to see that friend differently. This is how I fell in love with my husband, and it really is the craziest and the most terrifyingly wonderful feeling.

There are some pretty intense moments in this novel that had me completely immersed and even one scene that took me completely by surprise. I love it! This novel was fantastic, and I love that there are more books to look forward to in this series!

Felicity has lived her life in the shadow of a tragic event, the details of which she's largely blocked from her memory. Now a Texas Ranger, she's out to solve the still-unsolved murder - if only she could remember what she'd seen. But the killer is clearly still out there - as she finds to her cost when she's almost killed herself. Her old friend Noah, now a detective in their home town, is also working on the case, but seeing Felicity in danger brings to life his buried feelings for her. But he's already lost a lot and now has a young daughter depending on him - can he afford to give in to those feelings? If they can't uncover the murderer in time, though, it will be a moot point anyway...

A book with plenty of action, a mystery to be chased down, friends developing into more, a cute kid, and a satisfying ending. I vacillated a bit as to who I thought the murderer was, which means the mystery was done well and kept me guessing with plenty of suspects, clues and misdirection - but there was never any doubt that Felicity and Noah belonged together. I also appreciated the support network they had - once again, the supporting characters really take the story to the next level. All in all, a good read and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Felicity Capshaw is in a conundrum. Years ago, in the hometown she left, her beloved babysitter was murdered while caring for Felicity--who was found safe in a closet. Since that traumatic incident, she has had absolutely no memory of the crime or her babysitter's death.

But now, Felicity is all grown up and in law enforcement; a member of the renowned Texas Rangers. (And a female one at that!) She has returned to the scene of the crime, after many years, and she's determined to find her babysitter's killer and to finally close the cold case. Her childhood friend Noah Hodge is also in law enforcement; a detective in Knoxville, TX. He has offered to work with Felicity.

However, it's not absolutely certain that she'll stay alive long enough to find the killer. On her first night at the scene of the crime, she's assaulted by an unknown perp and left to die in the house, which is set on fire. Hodge arrives to help save her, just in time. But that doesn't start the investigation in a promising way.

Join Felicity, Hodge, and an interesting cast of characters as the two seek to find the unsub. It's a fascinating, twisting, and turning tale that will keep you turning the pages as quickly as you can. Great thriller with a bit of sweet clean romance.

Fractured Memories
Badge of Honor #1
By Lynn Shannon

When she was fifteen years old, Felicity Capshaw witnessed the murder of a dear friend. She has no memories of the incident. Now, she is a Texas Ranger, and she's returned to her hometown to reopen the cold case that has haunted her for years. Partnering with Detective Noah Hodge, Felicity hopes that they'll finally be able to get answers to Brooke's murder.

But it soon becomes apparent that someone wants to keep the past and its secrets buried, and they are willing to kill again. If only Felicity could remember what her mind locked away all those years ago. Because if she doesn't remember soon, she may become another victim of an elusive killer.

Fractured Memories is an action-packed Romantic Suspense read. The characters have depth, and the reader is quickly drawn into the story. There is peril and violence/murder, but nothing graphic. I have no hesitation in recommending this book to teens and tweens looking for something different from their typical young adult reading selections. Overall, this is a good read; perfect for fans of Love Inspired Suspense.

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book no expectations but that I provide my honest opinion, All thoughts expressed are my own.

Christian Romance Suspense Fiction has come to be a favorite genre of mine. Fractured Memories by Lynn Shannon is the lastest in this genre that I have read. It is Book 1 in the Badge of Honor series. Lynn Shannon is a new to me author and I was excited to read this book.

WOW, this book starts strong with suspense from the very beginning. The main characters are Felicity Capshaw and Noah Hodge. Felicity was a witness to a murder years ago but doesn't recall much of the details. She would really like the mystery of the murder to be solved and her friend and investigator, Noah , wants to help her. Felicity was there for him when he lost his wife while she gave birth to his daughter and when his parents died. They begin trying to crack the cold case but danger lurks and as they continue on, more danger comes. I really LOVE how Noah wants to protect Felicity and help her solve the mystery cold case. The suspense of all the danger and happenings in the book really make this book a page Turner. The book is filled with Suspense, Mystery, Friends, and Romance. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian Suspense with Romance. GREAT BOOK!

Texas Ranger has amnesia. Detective MMC. Murd€rer on the loose.

What a story. From the first page, I was enrapt in it.

Noah is a widower with a daughter, and Felicity is his friend. It’s a friends to lovers with a mystery thriller theme. I liked how the story unfolded with little clues here and there. I have to say, I did not see the ending coming. Lynn Shannon presented a well thought out story that left no questions at the end.

There is a Christian theme in this book, which I loved! I loved the whole “trust God.” However, if you don’t like it preachy, it is not.

It has a hallmark murd€r mystery vibe to it.

If you love…
Texas Rangers
Detectives
Retired Army Men
Widower with child
Slow burn
Murd€r mystery
Suspense
Thrill
…you’ll love Fractured Memories.

I have read all of the books in this author's Texas Ranger Heroes series and loved every single one of them. This is a new series but just as riveting. All of the books are full of suspense, drama and always a sweet romance.

Felicity witnessed the murder of her babysitter when she was a young teenager. The trauma of the experience has blocked her memories. The killer was never found. Now, years later, she is a Texas Ranger and she is determined to crack this cold case and find justice for her friend. Her former childhood friend, Noah Hodge is a detective with the local police and he is there to help.

When the killer puts a target on Felicity, Noah is determined to protect her while they work together to bring the killer to justice.

This book is so well written and the story draws the reader in and you feel like you are member of the community and part of the story. While the subject matter is serious and difficult, the writing is clean and the graphic details are left out.

I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.

This was book 1 of the Badge of Honor series and to be fair I did read book 2 first. I was correct in my review for book 2 that these can be read out of order and it doesn’t hurt the storyline. However, book 1 does give you more background on who the people are so I would recommend reading them in order. The only reference to book 2 is one the last page of book 1.

This was a really good storyline and I liked the addition of the Texas Rangers with the Knoxville TXPD force, and all the Special Forces (retired) crew. I do wonder if Fee stays with the Rangers given the conversations her and Noah had earlier. Maybe they will be mentioned in other books as background characters and I’ll find out later.

I do want to say that while I really enjoyed this book, I actually liked book 1 better so that’s why I’m giving this 4 stars instead of 5. I will be reading book 3 but it doesn’t come out until February 2026 so that’s a bummer!!

So good!!

Fractured Memories was such a good book. I was invested from page one and enjoyed every minute of it. Felicity wants to reopen the case of her murdered babysitter from fifteen years ago, and Noah is set up as lead detective on it. They've been friends for ages, and for the last few months, their feelings toward each other have been changing and growing. Through peril and pain and twists and turns, they find solace in each other.
The action/suspense was great--it always kept me guessing on what was real and what was a decoy. The romance was sweet and perfect, and relying on God and His strength was a big theme, but it wasn't shoved down your throat.
I actually read book 2 of the series first, but wasn't confused at all in it. Now reading this one, it was fun to see previous characters and getting a bit more backstory on Felicity and Noah. Loved it!

Wow! Intense suspense that grabbed me from page one! Texas Ranger Felicity Capshaw witnessed a murder as a teen but has traumatic amnesia of the event. She's persevered in life, but it still haunts her, so she opens the cold case and is determined to solve it. Detective Noah Hodge is a widower who is raising his precious little daughter while trying to keep his town safe. When Felicity is attacked and left for dead, he's drawn into the case and desires to keep his childhood friend safe. As the stakes get higher and danger hounds them, can they work together to figure out the pieces of this age-old puzzle? Book 1 in the Badge of Honor Series is a wild ride you won't want to miss!

This was a fast paced, thrill ride of a book. The characters were friends to lovers.

Felicity, a Ranger and victim of a murder scene is there when they reopen the case and partnered up with long time friend and Detective, Noah.

There was a intriguing mystery, suspense, action and drama in this story but a romance that was amazing to read about. So believable and lots of chemistry between these two.

Very well done, I'm enjoying this new to me author's books and look forward to more. Great work!!.

3.5 stars. This was a good story! I liked that it was a cold case, but also stuff happening in the present, so they were working on both. Felicity and Noah were both well written characters, and I liked that they had a good foundation for their relationship, but also recognized the complications they faced. The team worked well together, and I liked the way the mystery came together in the end. And the setup for the next book was intriguing!

Content: mild violence/gore.

I received this book free from the publisher/author. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Can be read as a standalone, however the characters overlap.
As a teenager she witnessed a traumatic event that caused amnesia. Now a Texas Ranger, she's determined to find out what happened and see justice served. He works for a different agency but is her partner on the case. When it gets out that the case has been reopened things start to get dangerous for them and those around them. Will they be able to solve the case before anyone else gets hurt? What happens when the culprits decide to get personal?.
