Thank you so much to the lovely author for including me on the ARC team for this one!! This was my first of her books & I will definitely be looking into more!!
For being 167 pages this packed a punch of a story!! So much happened and I loved how it started and finished in the same place🥹
Our main characters Adele & Ted meet and fall into a whirlwind romance at a summer music festival, but the weather washes it out and they lose touch never to see each other again… until 10 years in the future.
I really enjoyed this one!! it was so fast paced and so much happened in such a short story, I’m not the biggest fan of insta love, I would have loved some more angst in there and I think their resuming of the romance 10 years in the future was a bit unrealistic and there could have been more hardship in there too, but that said I still really enjoyed the read - my only wish would be that it was a bit longer then we would have had more of their story!!
I also loved our side character Orion I would love to find out more about her!!👀
If you’re looking for a fast paced, summer vibes, easy reading short story - definitely give this one a go!!💜
Lost Summer by Linzvonc was such an easy and engaging read, the kind of book you pick up and suddenly realize you’ve flown through in just a day or two. The writing is smooth and accessible, yet still carries an emotional weight and depth that makes it feel mature. I especially loved the festival setting and how it came full circle in the epilogue, that was such a sweet touch and gave the story a really satisfying sense of closure.
That said, there were a few parts that didn’t completely work for me. Some of the storyline leaned a bit into the cringe/predictable zone, and I personally struggle a little with the “instant love” trope. I found myself wishing their relationship had more time to grow and develop. The book is on the shorter side, and I think with a few extra chapters, there could have been more space to dive into the characters’ backgrounds and really build the emotional connection between them. It would’ve made their love story feel even more powerful.
Still, the overall concept, meeting at a festival, then reconnecting a decade later, is such a strong premise. There’s something so nostalgic and romantic about that kind of “what if” scenario, and Linzvonc really captured the magic of it. While I wanted a little more depth, I definitely enjoyed the ride and would recommend it to anyone looking for a heartfelt, summery read with a dash of second chances.
I was excited to read another of this author's books. She certainly keeps me busy, with such a variety of genres and stories. Adele and Orion were great characters right from the start, and I loved their friendship and banter. The rich descriptions put me right at the scene of the action time and again. Such a brilliant talent with words. I enjoyed the beginning and the festival chemistry that resonated from the pages, but when they met again as adults, I was HOOKED! Ooh that bombshell in Chapter 10! The emotional roller coaster that followed was terrific. Just like Ted's friends, I was rooting for them as they fought their way back to one another in their new modern reality. This was an incredible story that got all up in my feelings. I would love to read more of these fabulous characters and all their drama.
A love story that spanned decades. Adele and Ted met at a music festival over the summer. Their connection was instant and electric. Unfortunately, no last names were exchanged and they lost touch with each other. Neither stopped thinking about the other. Flash forward 10 years. Adele Pickering is working as a writer for the Morning Standard. She is sent to the engagement announcement of Elena Dalton and her billionaire fiancé, Harry Hart. Elena is a social media influencer. Her fiancé tended to stay out of the spotlight. No one really knew what he looked like. Guess who Adele runs into at the announcement?!? You guessed it. Turns out Harry Hart is Ted. The same boy Adele fell in love with ten years ago. I fell in love with these two and wanted them to make it despite the odds against them. Every time it seemed that things were working out for this couple, something else came up against them. Will love prevail? This love story will tug a reader’s hearts.
This was a really cute fast paced novella that you can easily find yourself devouring in a couple hours or less. This is a second chance romance, definitely has some spice, and a sweet HEA.
The book starts off with Adele & Ted, they meet and fall into a love at first sight, whirlwind once in a lifetime type at a summer music festival. The weather takes a nasty turn at the festival washing it out, their dreams of each other with it. They didn't have any way to get in touch with each other when they were so caught up in each other they didn't exchange info before the storm. Ten years pass by and fate has more in store for them.
I think the second time getting together some things could have waited until a certain someone handled his situation. I think Adele was pretty set on not crossing that line until then caved easily. Don't want to give anything away here. Like others have mentioned I felt like I was wishing Adele and Ted after ten years would build their relationship up just a little more than what occurred.
I did really enjoy this book and it kept me engaged throughout. I didn't put this down from start to finish. An easy, lighthearted and quick read!
Imagine meeting the love of your life at a music festival and only getting one magical weekend with them, only to never see them again for 10 years? Well, that's what happens to Adele and Ted!
After their weekend spent together, unfortunate circumstances force them to leave and never see each other again, until a chance meeting where Adele is at a work function and unexpectedly runs into Ted. But there's a catch. He's engaged and soon to be married.
As soon as Ted sees Adele, all the feelings he's had for her come back as if they've never left, which in truth, they haven't. She's always been on his mind. She's always been his lost Summer girl.
I absolutely loved this story, I was hooked from the start. The way both Ted and Adele fight to make their relationship work despite the obstacle that now stands in their way. I love a second chance at love story, and this was beautifully written. It is only a novella, so it's a nice quick and easy read, too.
I also loved Adels best friend, Orion. She's such a fire cracker and made the best side character.
This was such a sweet heartwarming story. Ted and Adele meet at a festival and had fling, but they both felt a deeper connection to each other. When the festival is over and they return to their normal lives, only knowing each others first names, they had no way of tracking each other down. They happen upon each other about 10 years later, Ted engaged to someone else, and Adele, still single, Ted begins to question everything. He was already questioning being with his fiancee, who is always in the spot light and very social and rich. But after seeing Adele, he realizes he still wants her. But seperating from his fiancee isn't as easy as it would seem. This was a story of true love conquering all, love finding its way back, and destiny always winning. I read a lot of darker books and this was a great palate cleanser in between. Linzvonc is an amazing writer. She has a way with keeping you captivated by the story, hooking you and keeping you sucked in. I recommend giving this a read for something on the lighter side.
Oh my gosh , no words can even start to express how much I absolutely adored every single thing about this story . What starts off as an unforgettable weekend and an unexpected meeting at a music festival filled with fun and exploring the connection between them , ends up turning into so much more than Adele and Ted ever ever could have imagined. And then imagine their surprise when fate brings them together again many years later . Adele is now a journalist who has been assigned to cover the story of the engagement between Elena Dalton and Edward hart . But she’s about to get the surprise of her life . Because Edward just so happens to be her Ted !!!! Do you love Insta Love romance, do you love second chance romance, do you love it’s always been you vibes from the MMC , do you love romances that are guaranteed to make you smile , make you laugh, make you cry and keep you cheering so freaking hard . Well if so Lost Summer is the perfect love story for you . It’s light and steamy and fun and will definitely keep you up reading well into the early morning hours
This was a lovely summer feels romance novella. Being only 170 pages, this still carried a lot of weight! I was invested from the beginning.
We first meet best friends Adele and Orion, teenagers heading to a music festival. The excitement and the buzz of the weekend ahead of them. Among the crowds, Adele meets Ted. Love at first sight, you may say??!!! They both get more acquainted and the sky is full of stars 🌟 The weather gets worse and they lose each other in the crowds..... Fast forward 10 years!!! Adele works as a reporter, and her first story is about a big media socialite and her partner who have just gotten engaged, Elena and Edward. Little did she know that Edward is Ted! What will she do? Are the feelings mutual?
This was such a feel-good short novella. I loved the characters of Adele and Ted. Their love was instant and seemed so perfect together ❤️ Orion was also a great character, and I would love to see the author develop her more.
This Is a light, fast paced second chance romance.
This story starts with Adele and Ted meeting at a music festival, they had an instant connection which they enjoyed spending the weekend festival together.
10 years later after not having a way to contact each other, the time went by until one day where fate had other ideas.
Adele and Ted see each other again after 10 long years. Their instant spark comes in like a tornado, the spark, the feelings they once felt and often thought about hits them right in the face. The issue is.. Adele is a journalist and is there for a story. Ted is at the event with his "girl" but Ted knew his heart always has belonged to Adele
This book is beautiful written short novel and is such a pallet cleanser read of a fast-paced instant love music festival romance.
There were some twists and turns in this storyline, it caught me hook line and sinker! I needed more! I still need more! It was a rollercoaster ride, the emotion, the love, the devastation & the happiness was everything and more
Two best friends having the time of their lives at a festival. In a Muddy field, music pumping and enjoying themselves
But when they bump into a group of lads and festival romance blooms, which was absolute perfection by the way…
But with only first names and having to return back to reality after the festival….. no way of finding each other what happens at the festival stays at the festival, so they say
The main characters were perfect I loved the chemistry between them, for this being a novella it certainly packed a punch with the twists and turns I didn’t see happening. But my gawd was it amazing
What a lovely story that had me laughing..had me feeling all the emotions that these characters were going through Must read definite must read
3.5⭐️ (rounded up) I wish there was more banter and slower burn— my ultimate basis on romance reads. Nevertheless, this was a short enjoyable read!
Festival romance, the one that got away, fate to meet 10 years later— if you love chaotic romance then this book is for you! Adele (journalist) and Ted (a billionaire’s son) met at a festival when they were young and fell in love! It was one weekend and never again until 10 years later.
The story felt realistic; something that I could see happening in real life which I really liked because it’s relatable! There was also the development of maturity in the characters— the way they acted and how they talked in the beginning versus 10 years later. For me, Ted carried this book. He knew what— who— he wanted. What a sweetheart!
Note: This is an ARC read and my review of this book is my own opinion.
This book was so cute !🥰 I loved everything about it ! It was so gentle and it flowed so beautifully. This was my first book by this author and I will definitely be reading more ! 💕Love at first sight 💕Second chance romance 💕UK Festival romance 💕Other woman drama 💕Novella 💕The one that got away This book was a perfect recipe with a dash of spice 🌶️
Quick summary; This book is split into past (2009) and the present (10 years later). Adele and her bestie attend an indie music festival and she instantly falls for Ted and they have a whirlwind fling. 10 years later Adele and Ted meet again, they’ve always known they were made for each other but can love overcome the paths they’ve woven for themselves ?
Adele and Ted had a whirlwind romance during a music festival ten years earlier. Their connection was like a dream come true. Unfortunately they parted ways without knowing how to communicate with each other again. When she runs into Ted again ten years later, that connection is still there. Only this time, there's a big hurdle, he's engaged. Ted has been wondering if his relationship with the fiancée is right and when he sees Adele again he has no doubt that Adele is still the one. This was such a beautiful heartwarming book that just makes you yearn for that kind of never ending love and affection with your soulmate. This is a great story to read if you love second chance romance and the "it's always been you" vibe. Highly recommend.
Imagine going to a music festival for the weekend and meeting your soul mate, but you're so wrapped up in the moment that you forget to exchange numbers, and before you know it, 10 years have passed. Heartbreaking and soul-shattering, right?
When Ted Hart walks back into her life, the truth bombs fly when she realises she's writing the article for his engagement. A closet billionaire engaged to an influencer, will Adele get her man? Or is it too late? Honestly, I started this book and couldn't stop until I finished. I could have continued to read about these two for hours. Such a good, wholesome story, despite the bitchy influencer fiancée.
A light hearted novella set in the UK our FMC meets our MMC at a music festival where they spend the night together after an intense Karaoke session. Ten years later she is a journalist and he is engaged to a solicialite.
Adele and Ted story is that of cute love and “I know you were the one” vibes. The story is brilliant and keeps you on your toes. You will be kicking your feet and giggling throughout.
There is some other woman drama and a gripping story.
This story has something for everyone. I loved it!
Lost Summer is very different from the stories I usually read by this author. This is Ted and Adele's story and it's fun and light. It's a fast-paced story and the very definition of a light, breezy summer afternoon. Ted and Adele journey is an insta love type of story that doesn't go beyond that memorable weekend at the music festival. That is until ten years later. This is a very enjoyable story that's easily read in one sitting. You can't go wrong reading anything by this author so I definitely recommend Lost Summer.
This was such a sweet, adorable, insta-love story that just melts you right from the beginning. It does pack a powerful punch with all the emotions you feel for Dell and Ted. There are some crazy situations that unfold that have you asking yourself how you personally would handle them and honestly, it's a lot! But I love how this story came full circle in the end. These characters were seriously so sweet, well everyone except Elena haha. I wouldn't mind if we got some more little novellas about their life!
Lost Summer by LINZVONC is a heartfelt second-chance romance that hits all the right notes. Adele and Ted share a magical connection at a summer music festival, but life pulls them in different directions before they ever get the chance to see where it could lead. Fast forward ten years, and a chance encounter brings them back into each other’s orbit, this time under much different circumstances. I loved the nostalgic festival vibes and the tender question of what if. LINZVONC beautifully tugs at your heartstrings and makes you root for love to get a second shot.
So Linzvonc threw me a bit of a curveball with this book, being use to the dark romance genre from this author, Lost Summer was a refreshing change to contemporary romance. I loved seeing the authors versatility with genres/subgenres. This story was a fast paced second chance spanning over a decade, it’s the type of book you start reading and before you know it, it’s finished and you’ve lost a couple of hours. I loved seeing the love at first sight, festival romance vibes and Adele and Ted’s story definitely gave the feel good vibes.
This book was perfection wrapped up in a perfect second chance, angsty, lust filled novella bow! A must read for this spring/summer 2025! Take a step back to 2009, when the summers were filled with music, good vibes and muddy fields. The stages were filled with the best indie bands and life was pure. Fall in love with Adele and Ted and their whirlwind romance. Because I sure did! Embrace the changing times and that always faithful best friend by your side. 10/10! High scores across the board!
This book is perfect for romance enthusiasts and festival lovers!
Adele and Ted meet at a festival and share a brief but passionate fling. Ten years later, fate brings them together once again, but not without it's share of twists and turns.
A beautifully crafted story of second chances and the one that got away with a touch of excitement. I absolutely loved it!
This was my first book by this author, and I can't wait to explore more of her work!
“We couldn’t live without each other. We’d tried. It was existing, not living.”
This was a fun, quick, lighthearted read. Perfect for a palate cleanser with all the music festival vibes.
Adele and Ted meet during a music festival and spend a fun weekend together exploring their instant connection. Ten years later, they meet again when Adele, who is now a journalist, is sent to get the scoop on the engagement of social media darling Elena Dalton to Edward Hart. What she didn't know was that Edward was her Ted.
Tbh, if you're looking for a lot of groveling, you won't find it here because this story has all the "you've always been it for me" vibes from both MCs, and they can't honestly imagine their lives without the other in it. There's also some OW/baby momma drama, but I gotta say I love how the author handled this. I loved that Ted was always firm on his stance that he will most definitely be there for his child, but in no way, other than co-parenting, would he be involved with his baby momma.
Quote: “I thought you were a dream, you know. I would see you in my dreams, and as the years went by, I wondered if I’d made you up. You were so perfect. You still are.”
This was so lovely. I'm normally a dark romance girl but was looking forward to something a bit different and this really hit the mark. The experiences of the main characters were so well written and I loved watching them connect in the beginning. The tension was amazing between them and watching them fight for their second chance was so nice. Its a nice short read aswell if you're looking for an in-between pallete cleanser or just looking for a nice summer vibes read.
The perfect summer read—I absolutely devoured this! It’s a short story that could have easily been expanded, but it works so well as a quick, cute read. The pacing was great until Chapter 6, which took an unexpected leap that completely caught me off guard (in a good way!). Not my usual kind of romance, but it was heartwarming and left me wanting more. Definitely the kind of story that could be developed further, but as it stands, it’s a charming little gem.
This was a blast in the past and I loved it. I was a teen when Adele and Ted were teens so this I could relate to. This book is realistic in the way it conveys those connections you have with others that defy time and logic as well as the complications of living two separate lives for 10 years. I felt the emotions with Dell and Ted as they navigated the challenges to see if their love could survive or was bound to end like their festival weekend.
Five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for “Lost Summer”! Linzvonc has written a brilliant second chance romance with fantastic festival vibes and sizzling chemistry.
The “one that got away” trope is executed perfectly, and the reunion is both emotional and steamy. This short novella is a must-read for anyone who loves a sweet and satisfying romance with a touch of whirlwind magic. I couldn’t put it down!
Adele and Ted met years ago at a music festival. So cute. Short brief weekend affair. 10 years later they meet unexpectedly at Adele’s work function. Yep you guessed it flames were still flaring for each other. I love their dynamic and how years later they still have thought of each other over the years. I just absolutely loved this cute quick read. Linzvonc is one of my favorite authors. Can’t wait for her next book!!!!
Lovely read, this was just the light read my heart needed. Insta love at a music festival. There is spice, banter and lost love. This I can say is the length of a good novella so it doesn’t dwell on too much in the story and keep the flow steady. Good book easily recommendable, in fact could maybe if even been made a bit longer with embellishments but don’t get me wrong the author has given us great scene visualization and characters.
Such a sweet wholesome quick read. Adele and Ted were meant to be together from chapter 1 of this book. Their story was so cute. Elena is the devil. Orion is absolutely hilarious she made my laugh so much during her scenes. Overall it was a cute story. It was a good pallet cleanser between books. I’m a sucker for second chance romance so this was a perfect quick read!
