I think I'm against the grain here, but not much happened in this book and it kind of just felt like filler. I found myself bored at times and skimming parts to get back to actual storyline. Ughhh, maybe my hopes were too high. Who knows.

Something about this series is really itching whatever my mood reader brain wants itched at this exact moment! I'm enjoying this very much so far! The relationship between the heroine and her mates is slowly but surely moving along. No one is rushed and the crap is about to hit the fan with the background big bad that's been being sprinkled in throughout the these past 2 books.
One of two of my qualms with this book at this point is the use of the word plus. IDK it irritates me for some reason. Two: How short these books are. Book #1 and #2 could have easily been 1 fun book. Maybe I'm just so used to reading ginormous books that these are seeming too short. *Shrugs*

I’m honestly still waiting for something to happen, but I’ve also read 2 book in this series in the past 12 hours I can’t exactly say they’re bad.
I think right now the pacing on these is the problem, not a lot happening but I’m finding each character interesting enough to keep me invested in them and the story. That said if I wasn’t reading these back to back I don’t know that I would enjoy this series because it is soo slow.
Minus some minor fights and bullying not a lot has happened to drive this plot forward in 2 books

At first I was content with the lack of plot, but there comes a point where the meandering gets old and even the unfinished homework starts to look real appealing. That's when you know something is wrong. I just think this book could've used more balance.

Nope, more of the same from book one (but less internal monologue, phew!). Still know very little about the FMC other than what we learnt in the first book: that she is tiny, poor, has very long purple hair and some sort of super magical, mystical power and mysterious heritage, and had an abusive, tragic upbringing… and of course now has five fated mates. DNF at 61%.

Devoured this is a day! Cosy RH with a great mix of MMCs ☺️ very limited spice 🫑 but it was all feel good seeing how the relationships are developing! I’m not sure about the side story with Ruby feels like it could be a whole story in itself? Straight onto the next!

Ugh
We get nothing. We learn the 4 different kinds of wolves but nothing really about what they are. Why they came to be. What they can do. What the difference is from the usual wolf tropes. It's all character driven, and all of that is the usual M Sinclair 'my tragic backstory is even more distressing than yours' deal. She doesn't try to remember her past because it causes headaches. Bitten wolves aren't supposed to be born with magic but struggle with it and be lower than the usual wolves. Yet everyone wants a bitten wolf and all of the ones we've been introduced to are pretty powerful. Ruby has a stage 5 clinger who disappears her for nonsense stuff but can't protect her from real violence. She's hiding from her mates for reasons untold. Effie's mates aren't really trying to woo her. No one seems to be reacting to the punishment they escaped. No one is trying to stop the evil campus president. Or discover his motives. Or stop him from hurting others. So...what's the point of the story? I have made it through 2 books and I know nothing about this world, how wolves hide everything from humans when they growl all the time and have unusual hair/eye colors, or why the story exists if there's no real plot arc. What's the outcome? Just to watch a pack mate up? These are supposed to be some of the scariest guys on campus, protecting a timid amnesia victim. But she keeps escaping them and not one of the "bad wolves" is intimidated enough by them to stop trying to hurt her. So, again, what's the point? Where's this headed? Makes no sense. The 2nd star is because I'm still curious about the different wolf classifications, even though we're getting no info on them. But I think I'm done with this series. The jointly written one was ok but this one just isn't doing it. Too much angst and dangling threads, not enough substance.

OMG quit with popping p sounds!
I liked this installment in the series because we get more background on all the characters so they are a little more rounded out. Why a 3 star then? The FMC passes out almost daily and doesn't know how she got home. That one thing was WAY overdone. My pet peeve, she constantly "popped her p". That is overdone as well. Really, the last 5 books I've read had the FMC doing that. And finally, even with editor and proofreader they were still numerous dropped words or incorrect words. Get a better group please. Overall a good read and I have pre-ordered the next book. Well really I consider these novellas but whatever. Worth you time even with the noted issues.

Great 2nd book, worth the wait
Lately, its been hard to read some of the sequel books when there's such a long wait between books. I forget the storyline (hint hint for authors, I love recaps) or lose interest after so long. I know I really enjoyed book 1, but apparently I forgot to review it.
Anyway, I have been waiting for ages for book 2, so I was excited it finally came out, but also wary. Anyway, no need for concern, I loved this book, and it didn't take me too long to recall the storyline.
Effie is a bitten wolf with a little extra. The headmaster is dodgy and has plans to use Effie for breeding and is none too pleased with Effie's mates. In this book, we get to see Effie's relationships with her mates develop and they get better at communication. And apparently Effie is in more danger than they realised.
Speaking of danger, there is one of Effie's friends I'm struggling to like, and that's Aanya. I felt like almost every time they interacted that she was leading Effie into danger and she was making me so angry. I'm also curious about Effie's other friend Ruby, about whether we'll see her story play out in Effie's books or whether we are being prepared for her story to follow Effie's.
So 5 stars from me for book 2, but ☹ about the wait for book 3.

If it's one thing Ms. Sinclair can guarantee always deliver on is a solid group of Hs who are always possessive, protective and adore the h. I think her story telling has improved from her earlier series, especially in her Wildberry Lane and this series. They are less formulaic and not so much filler just to drag out a series as I felt with the Descendant and even Reborn series.
Effie is a really sweet character and we get a little more insight as far as her shifter status. There's a little more progress with her relationships, although there's still much to develop and I am enjoying the slow-burn of it all. I can see the potential of at least one other potential series from one of Effie's friends, which I would be interested in, for sure.
Overall, a very quick and enjoyable read. I'm glad it's a 5-part series as we can get a lot more story from this group. I just hope there will continue to have plot progress in the upcoming books; rather than repetitive inner ruminations that I didn't enjoy with some of her earlier series.

M. Sinclair is back at it again with the 5-star reads! I thought nothing could top my love for the first book, but boy was I wrong! I absolutely adored this book you guys. Effie is back as our loveable (and slightly naive) FMC, along with her swoon worthy harem of shifter men. The plot starts to really thicken as Ryder confirms our suspicions that Effy is the just bitten wolf shifter we thought she was. Caedmon still has my heart and I can't think of a single thing I WOULDN'T do for him🥺 I'd also be lying if I said I wasn't happy that Ryder finally decided to give in, Effy's harem just got sooo much better. I was genuinely so so sooo excited to read the next book, so imagine my surprise when I realized book 3 isn't out yet. Talk about heartbreak of the century💔 My only saving grace is that it's supposed to come out in March. So until then, you can expect to find me crying in the corner of my room!

Love love love Effie and her mates! They are all so broken but trying so hard to form connections with her. It’s a beautiful series to read.
At the end of the last book, Effie found out that she was purchased from her pack to be a breeder. As she tries to come to terms with the fact that she shouldn’t be there, she is also learning to gain some confidence in herself. She still misreads situations constantly, but she has learned now to speak her concerns. I love seeing all the progress she is making! AND after that ending, I am dying for book 3!
At the end of the last book, Effie found out that she was purchased from her pack to be a breeder. As she tries to come to terms with the fact that she shouldn’t be there, she is also learning to gain some confidence in herself. She still misreads situations constantly, but she has learned now to speak her concerns. I love seeing all the progress she is making! AND after that ending, I am dying for book 3!

I‘m interested enough to continue the series.
The plot is actually really interesting on the contrary to some books that are similar.
The characters are a bit quirky but that honestly does not bother me.
I just need to skip some phrases cause they were NOT for me🤗

Finished this in a few hours!
Once I picked this book up, I couldn't put it down. M. Sinclair has ensnared me in her Silver Falls world. I am ready for the next now! Hopefully the tension is solved in book 3, because whew.

I love this world, I love the group dynamic and relationship building. This world is complex and filled with trauma and darkness, but the love and hope at their fingertips have me rooting for them all ♡

WOW... so much to like in this series. I am diving straight into book 3

I think my brain fell into a coma listening to this, the insta love and the males forgetting they have anything else in their life other than the FMC was mind numbingly boring and pathetic.
This book is a great tutorial on how to stretch out a storyline when you have little to no plot.
For example:
1) Ryder tells the group that he holds the answers to what’s her names wolf. He tells her he will tell explain everything when they get home.
They return home she showers, we hear her dull inner monologue about the shower, she gets dressed, she walks out to where all the men are waiting to hear about her wolf.
She sits down and then Ryder begins to talk and…… her stomach rumbles, she’s whisked off to the kitchen where they discuss her food, they talk about Italy and someone feeds the baby because apparently her hands and arms have failed her.
Then they decide to discuss the all important issue of her wolf.
2) Her mates are punished for fighting, she wakes up after passing out for the 50th time, she looses her shit at Ryder BECAUSE ITS ALL HER FAULT HER MATES ARE LOCKED UP. 🙄
Not the piece of shit who said vile things to her and caused her mates to react.
3) See point two, the weak little girl child passes out and she cry’s or has to fight back tears ALL! THE! DAMN! TIME!
There was a little action at the end of the book but too late for me to make me want to delve into the third book.
Authors do better, we want our FMC’s strong and independent, not having their men carrying them around like an infant and feeding them like they have paralysis of the upper body.

Authors do better, we want our FMC’s strong and independent, not having their men carrying them around like an infant and feeding them like they have paralysis of the upper body.

The misunderstanding trope is strong with this one, young padawan.
2.5 stars.
90% of this book consists of Effie demanding answers and then falling asleep before she can get them. The “cliffhanger” from book 1 isn’t answered until about 60% of the way in. And literally 90% of this book is just filler.
While I really appreciate an RH where all of the mates are absolutely dedicated to the FMC, Effie’s crippling anxiety, naivety, and just general lack of common sense really had me struggling to get through this. She is (deliberately?) misunderstanding basically everything anyone says to her (ie. her mates can go on and on about how much they love her, can’t live without her, are obsessed with her. Then one will say something like, ‘that blue dress looks great on you’ and she would mentally think something stupid like, ‘does that mean he doesn’t think I look good in pink instead?’ And be all sad about it). Or intentionally putting herself (or attempting to) in dangerous situations.
There is very little steam in this book (although slightly more than book 1). I am still interested in finding out what happens next…but I am frustrated by Effie’s character and feel like the story itself is dragging.

An average read.
While I liked this, I didn’t love it. I didn’t feel connected to any of the characters, and the guys just keep dithering around and making the same mistakes all the time - lookin’ at you, Ryder. Effie was also pretty stagnant in her role as the insecure and naive mate. She started coming out of her shell towards the end of the book, but she’s still pretty timid.
But, my main gripe was that the revelation at the end of Lost (being sold) was barely mentioned in this book! It was a great twist, and I was so looking forward to seeing how the author tackled this explosive plot device, but a few mentions were all we got, and that left me feeling peeved as a reader. However, I did enjoy Coffin, and the ending of this story once again amped up the danger to Effie, so of course I’m going to pick up the last book when it comes out. Just hope it all comes to a head in the next book and these teaser cliffhanger moments won’t be swept under the proverbial carpet.
