At my class reunion, I kissed Owen Conrad—my sworn enemy of over ten years.
The former baseball player is my opposite in every way. Where I’m organized and considerate of others, he’s chaotic and selfish. Where I’m polite and dependable, he’s brash and flaky.
The one thing we have in common is that we’re both teachers at Sapphire Creek High School, so I can add “co-workers” to the list of reasons I should not have kissed him.
I blame the champagne, but he doesn’t buy it.
No matter how hard I try to convince him to pretend it never happened, Owen refuses to forget it. He insists there’s something between us—a spark worth exploring.
And it’s not long before I have to admit he’s right.
The laid-back giant with a boyish, lopsided smirk is actually very generous and fun. He also knows me surprisingly well and sees beyond the walls I’ve built around my heart.
When I’m with him, I’m more than schedules and rulebooks.
But no matter how charming he is, it doesn’t change our professional dilemma. It’s taken me years to establish an impeccable reputation and a well-rounded career for a promotion I desperately want—and deserve.
A relationship with Owen would put everything I’ve worked for at stake.

Addie (28) and Owen (28) have known each other since they were in high school. But she hated his guts because she didn't like his go with-the-flow personality, and Addie likes structure and control in everything that she does. They're opposites in every way, and she's kind of judgmental about him, thinking he's always had it easy, even though he doesn't take anything seriously. It also added to her annoyance that Owen briefly dated her high school bully. But he said he didn't know that his gf back then used to be mean to Addie.
Anyway, present time, ten years later. Owen got back permanently into their town after he had a career-ending injury. And now they're both working as high school teachers at their alma mater. Yet, despite the years, let's just say that Addie can definitely hold grudges and still strongly dislike Owen. He, on the other hand, got used to the barbs and insults from Addie, and he gives as good as he gets.
Ngl, I did struggle with the first 30%. All they ever did here was argue, with Addie being judgmental about Owen's tardiness in their meetings for their reunion. He had valid excuses, but he was also wrong by forgetting to inform them that he's going to be late or if he wouldn't make it at all.
But things eventually picked up when they had their first kiss, and it just got better since then.
I did enjoy the story, but Addie had a lot of issues to work through, and maaan, did she make me scratch my head on numerous occasions. I'm not saying she didn't improve, because she did. With the help of Owen, she was finally able to step out of her comfort zone and be free-spirited with him. But then her insecurities at times would get the best of her, and she would pick a fight just for the sake of doing it because she couldn't handle her emotions and was overwhelmed by them and by Owen's relentless pursuit of her.
I love the fact that sometimes she takes the initiative to be with him or that she will go out of her way to surprise him and just be spontaneous. But her last act in the end really frustrated the heck out of me. I thought she finally got a handle on her negative thoughts, but they came crashing down, and she almost ruined what they had. Still, I'm glad she finally got her sh*t together and decided to make things right in the end. While the public grand gesture definitely seems like a good call for her apology, I still didn't have to like it. Maaan, these gestures never fail to give secondhand embarrassment and full body cringe all the time. 😅
And the sole reason for this rating was Owen. This cinnamon roll MMC definitely carried this whole book, imo. He was a steady guy through and through, caring, thoughtful, reliable, patient, and basically all-in with Addie. Had it not been for his efforts getting under her skin, flirting, and charms, I don't think anything would happen or develop between them. He's persistent; I'll give him that.
Between the two of them, Owen is way more mature than Addie. He's understanding of her hangups and even agreed to her suggestion of keeping what's going on between them a secret. He wasn't really onboard with this plan, but since he wanted her comfortable and happy, he reluctantly concurred with it. I guess in his mind, he cares more about having Addie in his life than letting other people know they're together. She's all he needs, and he'll do whatever she wants to make her not regret choosing him. Like I said, he's the reason for my rating. 🤭
I don't really want to compare, but Owen did so much for Addie and for their relationship to work. Sure, the giving of an ultimatum was wrong, but imo, if he didn't do that, Addie wouldn't pull her head out of her ass. She would allow her fears to control her and lose the person for whom she has grown to care more over the last few weeks. Pressuring her by giving that ultimatum wasn't right, but I still think it was necessary. 🤷♀️
And again, while I do appreciate Addie's apology, it still didn't sit well with me that it was still Owen who first freaking dropped the love bomb. Idk, I had it my mind that Addie would do it first because after all she was trying to apologize and show how much he means to her. And I think saying ILY was a monumental thing that would solidify that intention. But nope, it was still Owen who had to say it first. 🤦♀️
Anyway, I'm rambling way too much. All I just want to say is that it was a really good book with a dislike-to-love trope, and the chemistry between the MCs was really good and palpable. I ended up loving Owen, and Addie eventually grew on me, but readers have to be patient with her. She really has so many issues to deal with in the book. But overall, it was still a solid read. 😄

A true small town, enemies to lovers romance with heart, humour and a whole lot of steam? Yes please! From the moment we met Owen + Addie in book one I was instantly intrigued by them and excited for their story. Georgia does not disappoint with this one.
Owen + Addie have known one another most of their lives and shared a mutual dislike for one another. They’re complete opposites but when forced to work closer together, they suddenly see each other in a different light. One kiss at their high school reunion and everything changes…
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁: small town, hate to love, he falls first, co-workers, opposites attract, cinnamon roll mmc, secret relationship.
Owen is the jokester, but he’s so much more behind the jokes and playful personality he lets everyone see. He’s loyal, protective, always there for those he cares about and a closet sweetheart. Then there’s Addie, who is a textbook type A personality, with her tote full of planners and coordinating stationary. She’s always been the responsible one, who has plans and no time or space for anything else. Until Owen brings chaos, light and laughter into her life.
They may be complete opposites but they complimented one another so well and helped one another in so many ways. The moment they actually 𝙨𝙖𝙬 the person in front of them beyond their old mutual dislike, was a highlight for me. They had such great banter, their verbal sparring acting as foreplay and the chemistry and tension was pulling so tight just waiting for the snap. And when it did? These two were explosive together.
I adored the way Owen softened for Addie, how he showed her he cared, looked after her when she was sick and never afraid of his feelings. There were so many swoon worthy moments. I admired the way Addie did the work to confront her fears, heal and allowed herself to accept his love, and love him in return. Their HEA was emotional and beautiful.
I enjoyed the way this book gave us their POV during the same timeline of the previous book. Georgia creates a captivating, complete view into this small town and the fun, supportive group of friends during a pivotal time in their lives. I’m looking forward to what’s next in Sapphire Creek!
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐘𝐨𝐮 is the second book in the Sapphire Creek series by Georgia Coffman, featuring an entertaining opposites attract, enemies to lovers, small town romance for Owen and Addie. She’s the quintessential “Type A” personality clinging to her rules and lists, trying so hard to focus on her future. But now, the ultimate distraction is working in the same school as the new PE teacher/baseball coach— her high school enemy, Owen. He always seems like the life of the party, and his selfish nature drives her crazy when she has to cover for him. She’s planned their 10-year high school reunion down to the last detail, but she didn’t plan on the pesky sparks between her and Owen to overpower her brain! Can one kiss change everything? She quickly realized he wasn’t at all who she thought. Now she’s caught between her career goals and a potential love match. Is Owen worth the risk?
This is my first book by this author, and I can’t wait to read more! What better way to show the quirks of a small town than a high school reunion?! The world building was great, with fun friends and interesting family relationships for both MCs. I enjoyed the evolution of the enemies to loves vibe, as Addie got to know the real Owen, a sweet Cinnamon Roll Hero with a loving heart, willing to go the extra mile for those he cares about. I am always drawn to witty banter, and there is plenty of that with Owen around.😆 Addie had some insecurities and emotional hangups to work through, and I appreciated the relatable way she was portrayed. I loved Owen and Addie together, with their sweet and spicy moments! I didn’t have trouble enjoying the book without reading Book 1, but I’m so curious about Austin and Caroline now, that I can’t wait to read it!
I received an ARC for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 🌶️🌶️.5
The Thought Of You ( Sapphire Creek Series Tropes 💜Small Town 💜Second Chance 💜ex Baseball player 💜Opposites attract 💜co workers 💜enemies to lovers 💜forced proximity 💜he falls first and all the feels . Have you ever come across a book or a series that just hooked you in a way no other has for a very long time ? That you found yourself not only falling completely in love with from the very first page but had the ability to make you feel so many different emotions you never saw coming? Kinda like being on the craziest ride at the amusement park !!! you know rhat feelijg you get in your stomach from being excited and nervous at the same time - the anticipation of whats to come next ? Well this is without a doubt that series for me . I just adored Addie and Owen so so much. Two people who have a history together who could not be more different like night and day yet somehow actually end up being the perfect fit together . From the get go you could always feel the undeniable chemistry between them . But the simple truth is they could not stand one another. Circumstances bring them together force them to spend time together and it’s only then their views of each other start to change and yes they end up falling hook line and sinker in love . The Thought Of You is easily one of the best books I’ve read this summer, so beautifully written and emotionally charged, a emotional rollercoaster that’s guaranteed to make you feel so many different emotions- everything from speechless to yelling outta frustration to smiling and laughing , sobbing like a baby and rooting so freaking hard . As per usual Georgia has once again exceeded all my expectations and delivered a home run right outta the ballpark 💜💜💜💜💜💜
Why you'll love it... • Small town • High school friends; now teachers • Opposites attract • He falls first (and pines so hard) • She hates to want him • Secret relationship • Acts of kindness abound
Why I loved it...(4.5 stars) Every so often, I'll come across an author, and even though I've never read anything from them before, they become an instant favorite once I read a single chapter.
That was the case for Georgia Coffman and her new release, The Thought of You. I was literally at 7% in this book (which Georgia generously let me read in advance) and was completely sold on Owen and Addie's story! The remaining 93% only solidified my initial thoughts and I fell absolutely hard and fast for these two.
The story follows our main characters, who've known each other since childhood as classmates -- and who are now teachers at the same school where they grew up. They've always been antagonistic, never what you might call "friends," - but it's clear from the start that they both feel more for the other than they let on.
What follows is a really sweet, nuanced story of finding out that long-held perceptions aren't always what they seem; that second chances can lead to amazing results; that everything you always dreamed in your heart could be standing in front of you all this time. It was funny, witty, warm and compelling. I laughed a lot at the banter between Addie and Owen, I swooned repeatedly as he patiently waited for her to get her head around the idea of them, I fanned my face quite a bit at their heat, and I cheered for their eventual HEA.
I cannot wait to read more from Georgia and am so glad to discover her work!
Owen and Addie has known each other for years and when they were in high school Owen seemed like the aloof, jock that hung with Addie’s tormenters, and that left a bad taste in her mouth. They are complete opposites in every way where Addie is the serious one that has to have every detail in life planned to the minute and Owen is the fun loving laid back guy that wants to be taken serious at times.
Addie’s hatred towards Owen is intense and while I see where she was coming from because of her past where she had a life with a parent that at times was neglectful made her feel like she had to be the responsible one all the time and she still is to this day, but her judgmental way towards Owen wasn’t something I enjoyed. She took her anger to the next level by letting it stew for years and years then always had something snarky to say no matter what and would refuse to hear him out and always on the attack when it came to Owen. I did like how Owen was such a sweetheart helping others he cares about, even if at times it seems his family takes advantage of that, but his heart was in a good place.
Their banter when things start to change was fun and very hot, but what I loved the most was how they showed and helped each other grow in different ways. I just wish Addie hadn’t been so aggressive in the beginning with her anger because it made me feel so bad for Owen and hard for me to adjust to her going forward. These two opposites definitely attract in this fun story and overall, I really enjoyed it.
If opposites attract, enemies to lovers and small-town romances are what you need, I highly recommend picking up The Thought Of You. We are back in Sapphire Creek with Addie and Owen, two people who are more opposite than day and night. Their story is full of great banter, and angst and under all the back and forth feelings develop and the hate they thought they had for one another turns into a desire that nobody can stop. Addie is a type "A" person, lists and rules are what keep her organized and sane, however when Owen is near all hell breaks out. Owen is a carefree kinda guy with the jokes and not seeming he cared but there was so much more underneath the surface. Working with the one person who sets you off in more ways than one, sees them pushing one another's buttons. When Mother Nature causes them to share the gym to teach, lustful glances and flirty talk cause things to heat up. A secret romance starts, feelings are revealed, pasts are shared and hearts open up. I loved the way Addie finally sees Owen for the caring and loving man he truly is. Just maybe she judged him without really knowing him. When Owen opens up about how he feels and tries to show her just how much he wants her is swoon-worthy. Right from the start I knew this book was a page-turner with the angst and banter they shared. I can't wait for the next book in this series.
“I’ll be as attentive as your boyfriend as I have been as your enemy. I promise you that.”
An enemies to lovers in Sapphire Creek? Yes please! Addie Lockhart is Type A personality to the max. She is an English teacher at the high school she graduated from and determined to become principal one day so she can’t let anything derail her. Especially an old high school rival. Owen Conrad is an ex-mlb player and current rival and coworker of Addie. Owen is much more go with the flow and calm. “He and I exist in different realms,”
Addie and Owen are such an unlikely pair but when we get to know each other them better we see how perfect they are together. I loved their constant banter, they certainly had fun ways to pick on each other. Owen was exactly what Addie needed to loosen up and Addie gave Owen a new purpose. “Loosening you up like this has become my new favorite thing.”
I also loved how this story was partly told with the same timeline as The Charm of You, the first book in the series. I’m so excited for The Chance of You next! Thank you @authorgeorgiacoffman for the ARC! Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🔥: “I’m ready to beg, okay?”
The thought of you (ARC REVIEW) Georgia Coffman ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶🌶 Avaliable NOW!!
Thank you for the ARC !
This was a fun enemies-to- lovers small town romance that had fun and swoony banter between our two main characters. Addie and Owen definitely had the enemies part down at the start of this book, and it made for some very funny interactions and back and forth insults.
Owen has the fun-loving go with the flow and doesn't let things get to him personality that was the opposite of Addie, who loves rules and structure and to always have a plan and follow it. These two definitely were opposites in many ways, but that is exactly what made them perfect for each other 🥰.I really enjoyed how the relationship between them grew/changed throughout the book and to see them both open up to each other and get a HEA was just perfect.
This was a fantastic book with fun and charming characters. I am definitely looking forward to seeing what is coming next in this series.
TROPES: 💖Small town romance 💖Enemies to lovers 💖He falls first, and HARDER 💖Opposites attract 💖Secret relationship 💖Co-workers Cinnamon roll MMC 💖Slow burn 💖 Rom-com feels 💖 All the BANTER
I am absolutely in love with this small town and its residents. I have been waiting for this book for a long time, especially after knowing it's of Owen and Addie. This read was everything I expected and more. I was engrossed in the read from the first page and lost myself in the characters. Just as expected from Georgia, this was yet another emotional rollercoaster that pulled emotions from me.
I loved the banter between Addie and Owen from the first book, and getting a full experience of it was amazing. They could not be any more different but are perfect for each other. Owen is so much more than he shows the world. When they actually get to know each other, they cannot help but let go of the hate and fall in love. I was swooning over Owen throughout the read and was in awe with Addie.
Every single character has depth and feel natural, which is why I loved the secondary characters as well. Just like the first book, this is a wholesome read that leaves you craving for more yet feeling content. Now, I am excited for the next book as I am in love with Sapphire Creek. Thanks to Georgia for the advanced copy of this spellbounding read.
“Didn’t she threaten to sue the school when you two were voted The Cutest Couple Who Never Was?”
Addie was never a fan of Owen when they were in high school, she cared too much and it seemed like he didn’t. 10 years later, Owen is back in town after an injury that his professional baseball career. Addie is in charge of the reunion and wants it to be as memorable as possible. It was memorable alright because the night ended with a kiss. Addie wants to blame the champagne but Owen had other plans. Can he somehow convince her that there’s something between them that they need to explore?
Addie and Owen are opposites as can be but that’s just what makes them perfect for each other! Their back and forth is hilarious and they definitely can banter for days! I love Owen’s patience when it comes to Addie. She has some parental issues and needed a little push to loosen up. And I love how Addie when she finally opened her eyes to see what kind of person Owen really is, helped him realize that he’s more than enough.
Banter, laughter for days, swoon and spice! I really enjoyed this small town, enemies to lovers, opposites attract, workplace romance!
In this next installment of the Sapphire Creek series, things get very emotional with Addie and Owen's story. However, the story isn't just theirs as it also involves their families and how their respective families relate to them as individuals. Since the age of ten, Addie has had to be the responsible one while it was just her and her mom. Owen has always been the funny one and the helpful one in his family. They have been adversaries since high school. She never thought there was much substance to Owen or that he took life very seriously. He always thought she was too serious. It just might be true about there being a fine line between love and hate. Read to see what extenuating circumstances it will take for these two to see each other in a different way and to see just how far their relationship might go. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The Thought of You is an enemies to lovers, small town romance filled with tension you could cut with a knife! These two opposites, Addie the strait laced planner, and Owen, the carefree fun guy, collide in heated banter throughout the book. But let’s be honest here - that banter is nothing but passionate foreplay. These two try so hard to keep distance between them, but the magnetic pull can’t be fought forever!
Each comes with some serious insecurities that seem like mountains to overcome, but are incredibly relatable to readers. It hurt to watch them pick the threads and unravel themselves, but knowing they were doing it for each other; perfection.
The small time vibe was so well encapsulated. The gossips, the mean girls, the besties that would do anything for you, the meddling family members, and the locally owned hot spots are all so spot on!
The spicy heat is definitely there as well! The banter, teasing, and resistance lead to very hot chili pepper worthy moments!
I am in love with Sapphire Creek, GA! A fictional little town just outside of Savannah. Being a Georgia girl might have me a little biased.

After a scandalous kiss at their 10 year high school reunion & some work-related forced proximity, Allie & Owen might not hate each other after all. But can Allie get past her past family drama & learn to love?
If you love sweet golden retriever MMCs in your books, then look no further than Owen Conrad! He’s funny and as unserious as they come, but he is serious about taking care of everyone he loves He’s also a former professional baseball player who is not a playboy, and I’m here for it.
I love opposites attract and Addie and Owen are definitely that to the extreme, but it’s so fun reading about them figuring out how they are exactly what the other needs. Addie drove me a little crazy at times but she apologized to sweet Owen and works on herself so I will forgive her 😂
With southern small town goodness about a group of high school classmates reuniting for their 10 year reunion, I was hooked on this series from that alone and this second book was such a great addition!
Owen and Addie have known each other their entire lives, living in a small town and going to school together. Addie is not super popular, however, she likes things a certain way even at a young age. Owen never thought he would go back to his hometown and now that he is there and working with the one woman that drives him nuts, he has to make the most of it. But Owen gets on Addie's nerves when one night she decides to be spontaneous shocking them both. Now they have to figure out what to do with that. Oh, the chemistry is off the charts, but so is their banter. Can Owen show Addie that there is more to life than being organized? And can Addie show him there's more to life than being a jokester?

Addie and Owen grew up together and now they are working together, however they aren’t really friends. I love the tension and the banter that these two had from the start.
These two are so different, but I loved that the more time they actually spent together they learned more about the other that changed their initial views of each other. Despite not really liking each other, you could feel the chemistry between the two of them. It was just fun to see them slowly fall for each other.

✨Review✨ *** The Thought of You was so good!!! Addie and Owen were everything. I loved their relationship. Their banter and fighting were definitely my favorite. Owen was perfect. He was sos sweet and caring and goofy and just amazing. I loved Addie. She was jaded and so serious but her growth was amazing. I loved the writing and all the characters. The story was so easy to read and fall in love with. The ending was perfect and I cannot wait for Maren's book! *** Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Spice: 🔥🔥 Romance: 🩷🩷🩷🩷 **
We met Addie and Owen in the first book and I have been waiting in anticipation for their love story, having grown up together their relationship wasn’t always the best, they disagreed about everything and were polar opposites, Owen was the typical sporty outgoing jock whereas Addie was the people pleaser, the serious one, the one that stayed in the background but with a heart of gold. Years later they are teachers in the same school and feelings haven’t changed, they act like they hate each other but secretly pine for each other. This was a beautiful page turning and well developed love story, their transition from enemies to lovers was amazing to follow. Loved all the characters, a book full of humour, drama and steam. They belonged together.
A beautiful story of enemies to lovers and ex high school enemies. I enjoyed this book and I loved Owen and Addie although it seems they are from two completely different worlds they are perfect together. They both had hurdles to overcome and it was very revealing as they opened up to one another and shared their insecurities. A wonderful small town romance that is a great addition to this series. If you have not yet ready the first book you must pick it up and read them as you will not regret it.
I was really looking forward to this read because I very much so enjoyed the first book in this series. Unfortunately this one just did not do it for me. I felt the enemies portion was dragged on and felt a bit immature, and the lovers portion came so fast out of nowhere. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the overall plot line of this read, which is upsetting. However, I am still looking forward to the next book in the series!!
Tropes: small town, workplace romance, secret relationship, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, he falls first
Book 2 in this series puts you in the middle of high school bully and an over achiever. They say opposites attract and there is a very thin line between hate and love. Owen Conrad returns back to Sapphire Creek after an ALC injury cuts his baseball career short. Getting a job as the PE teacher at his old high school and working alongside the ever perfect and annoying Addie Lockhart. Thrown together at every opportunity, the distance between Addie and Owen is diminishing. Great small town read n
I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Addie and Owen’s story is fantastic! Addie is serious and a very strict rule follower. Owen is a jokester and never seems to care about rules. Addie hates Owen with all that she is. Their story ends up showing that behind the faces they show the world is so much more. Watching them find out the truth behind who the other really is will keep you hooked. You can’t help but root for the two of them!
I liked this book but struggled in the beginning because there is overlap in the events with the first book. It felt like I was rereading the first except from Owen and Addie’s perspective. Eventually, it moves into their own world and timeline and I enjoyed it much more until the last quarter of the book. Addie’s character development was real. But man, she was annoying getting there.
When I tell you this book had me laughing, crying, laughing crying, and on the Edge of my seat I mean it!!
Addie is the type of person who tries to do everything right so she can becoming principle one day and Owen is her high school nemesis who just moved back and got a job at the school. When he keeps messing up Addie seems to always have to cover for him.
This book was soo good Owen’s little gestures to Addie were my favorite. We love a man who falls first!
I really wasn’t sure if I was going to like this one if I’m honest and that’s mostly down to Addie - she was so hostile to Owen and I’m sorry to say not terribly likeable for it. I just didn’t see how they could ever get together, but get together they did and boy were the results plenty steamy along with some sweet and cute exchanges between the two. I’m eagerly awaiting my next visit to Sapphire Creek.
Het voelde langdradig. Wilde eigenlijk halverwege stoppen.
What a fun read. This was such a nice small town romance. The banter between Addie and Owen was so good and entertaining. I loved the exchanges between them and they had me laughing. They were the perfect enemies to lovers, opposites attract couple. Such a great read and I really enjoyed it.
Owen and Addie are great. I loved the enemies to lovers vibe. They have great chemistry and such good banter. I enjoyed watching them fall for each other. The story is well written and I loved the characters. Overall this was a really good read.
