As her visions become increasingly more dire, she and Tam realize that danger is coming to Alyna, danger that will require her people and his to band together to survive. Can she convince her people to listen, or will they tear her from Tam’s arms? Because her heart tells her something her visions never Nothing is more important than being together.

Fantasy is not one of my go-to genres, but when a favorite author branches out, I'm willing to take a risk. I'm so glad I did! I found the story of Marya and Tam a beautiful one, and I look forward to reading more stories set in world of Alyna.
World building is key in a fantasy novel, and I really appreciated the way that Allen does it in this novel. She sets us up to learn more of this unfamiliar land but doesn't overwhelm the reader, at least not beyond how the main characters themselves are overwhelmed as they learn more about the culture of the other.
The romance between the two characters is sweet, and I enjoyed how it all came together. I wasn't sure how the characters could prove their feelings to each other given their beginning, but the author found a believable way to make this happen that felt right for the personalities she had developed.
I recommend this novel for fans of sweet romance, especially those who may be reluctant to try out the fantasy genre. This is a great entry point, and I look forward to reading the rest of this series.
I received a review copy of this book but was not required to post a positive review. The opinions expressed are both honest and my own.
Seer of the Wildwood by Regan Allen is a breathtaking closed-door fantasy romance that sweeps readers into a world of lush landscapes, deep-seated rivalries, and a slow-burn love story worth rooting for. With a strong-willed heroine, an honorable warrior hero, and a richly built world full of intrigue, this book is perfect for fans of immersive fantasy with heartfelt romance at its core.
Marya Santelyn has spent her life hiding her secret—an ability to see the future that could either save or destroy everything she loves. But when her gift becomes too obvious to ignore, she makes a desperate escape… straight into enemy territory. Tam Randene never expected to be aiding one of his tribe’s sworn enemies, but when he realizes Marya’s rare abilities, he knows her value—to his people, to their survival, and perhaps even to his heart.
I loved how Regan Allen wove this story together. The world-building is intricate yet approachable, pulling me deeper into the cultures and conflicts of Alyna without overwhelming the story. The romance unfolds beautifully, filled with tension, miscommunications, and a deep emotional connection that made every moment between Marya and Tam so rewarding. With perilous escapes, unexpected alliances, and a heroine who refuses to be a pawn in anyone’s game, this book had me hooked from beginning to end.
This is the first book in a new fantasy world, and after this introduction, I’m eager for more! If you love swoon-worthy, closed-door fantasy romance with adventure, heart, and unforgettable characters, this one belongs on your TBR.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book, and all opinions are my own.
As a seer, Marya has been hiding her 'curse' for most of her life, for her own safety. But when it shows up at the most inopportune time and she can no longer hide, she hurries to escape - only to find herself in a different sort of prison. Tam readily rescues the beautiful young woman who reaches out for help, and takes her home to his family in the Wildwood. Quickly realising she's a seer, and knowing how much the families of the Wildwood need her, he protects her and welcomes her into the family. But though the welcome is something she's never known before, her visions seem to grow worse and worse and she's desperate to get home, sure her father will protect her. Can Tam convince her to stay? And what are her visions meant to guide her to do?
This was a new author to me, but having read one book I'm eager for more. Marya has been brought up to view what other see as a blessing as a curse, and is surrounded by people who all want a seer for their own purposes. Meanwhile, she is torn between a desire to stay and enjoy family life and a feeling of responsibility to her father. It's a lot to process, and made for a great story. Tam's family is great, and while there's understandable rivalry, I appreciate that it stays friendly. Marya's father, on the other hand? Well, let's not go there! Add in the question of Marya's visions and what they mean, the question of how to really keep her safe and her attempts to learn to control her gift, and it makes for a great read that has me eager for the next book in the series. Recommended.
Note that I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author. I was not required to write a positive review and this is my considered opinion of the book.
Seer of Wildwood Book 1 in the Bonded Realms Series
This one is a closed door, romantic fantasy. I love the vivid imagery in this fantasy world. There were twist and turns throughout the book that kept me glued to the pages.
I really enjoyed all the action, adventure, romance, unique characters, visions, and wonderful characters in this book.
Marya and Tim are wonderful together. Opposites truly attract. They’re slow burn romance and his protectiveness towards her make for the sweetest romance. They both brought out the best parts of one another.
I am excited to see where the series goes from here
I'm always up for a good fantasy and this one came recommended as similar to some of my favorite current fantasy authors so I jumped at the chance to dive into the Bonded Realms.
Seer Of The Wildwood is an enjoyable clean (closed door) read with all of the danger, excitement, intrigue, and romance that I've come to hope for in a good fantasy novel. Regan Allen paints a vivid world this first book in her Bonded Realms series. The characters are varied as are their cultures and traditions. The magic system is simple but well thought out and I applaud her for keeping it easy for readers to follow and remember while making it interesting as you want to know to more.
I liked the dual POV as lets readers into the struggles, fears, and hopes of both Marya and Tam. It also helps build the tension of both the romance thread and the storyline in general.
Suitable for older teens and adults, Regan Allen kept me intrigued from start to finish and eagerly turning the pages. Seer Of The Wildwood is a hard one to put down and I was definitely left wanting to read more in this interesting series....
(I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher. All opinions are entirely my own.)
Seer of the Wildwood, by Regen Allen, is the first book in the Bonded Realms series. This novel is filled with plenty of adventure, romance, and fantasy elements. Magical gifts, fanciful creatures, warriors, visions, and foes make this book truly enchanting. With its vivid characters, creative settings, and enduring themes, this story is quite memorable and entertaining. From the first page to the last, this novel is cleverly written, beautifully detailed, and very compelling .
Alternating between the perspectives of the two main characters, this novel grows increasingly captivating. As the story develops, the characters encounter surprising allies, lethal dangers, and painful choices that compel them to embrace that which is courageous and just. Even when faced with significant doubts, selflessness and integrity encourage the characters to follow a path that will have significant consequences for themselves and for those whom they love.
With genuine talent, Regan Allen has succeeded in creating a fictional, fantasy world that is alluring and uniquely special. Throughout the novel, unexpected surprises and imaginative twists help to create a story that is utterly fascinating and very satisfying. Seer of the Wildwood is moving, gripping, enjoyable, and unforgettable. I recommend it wholeheartedly to all readers, and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
*I was given a copy of this book by the author/publisher and JustRead Publicity Tours. A review was not required. The review I have written is voluntary and contains opinions that are entirely my own.
Seer of the Wildwood, the first book in the Bonded Realm series by Regan Allen, is a quick and engaging read. The cover captures your attention even before you start reading.
The story is told from two viewpoints. It follows Marya Santelyn, a city girl and the daughter of a rich merchant, who sees her ability to predict the future as a burden. One day, she publicly uses her gift, knowing it could lead to punishment. To escape the guards, she seeks help from Tam Randene, a warrior from the ancient Wildwood tribe. Tam takes her to his village, where she learns that his people honor her as a Seer. As her visions reveal a terrible future threatening everyone in the country, Marya realizes she must act to save them all.
This fantasy tale weaves in elements of old magic, which are fascinating. The vivid descriptions of the new world added to the enjoyment. This novel offers interesting characters and a love story that starts with one-sided feelings and grows deeper over time. The romance is clean, featuring only a few passionate kisses.
Readers who love brave heroes, strong women, and a rich story full of action and romance will likely enjoy this book. It sets the stage well for the series with its mix of danger and surprises.
Regan Allen tackles fantasy in Seer of the Wildwood and she does it with style and finesse!
Memorable characters, lush scenery, and imaginative creatures come together to craft an engaging story.
What Marya views as a curse is a valued treasure to the Khorrum. She thinks she’s their captive—he thinks she a precious gift.
Worlds collide and true motives are sussed out as Marya learns what her power can do and what it’s for. Tam is dreamy and her valiant protector, and his entire clan is very interesting.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the Wildwood and plan on another trip someday. I received an advance copy from the publisher. I’m under no obligation and my review is my honest opinion.
What a fantastic book! Seer of the Wildwood, the first of the Bonded Realm series by Regan Allen, is an enjoyable and quick read.
The novel follows Marya Santelyn, a city-dweller and daughter of a prosperous merchant, and Tam Randene, a tribal warrior of the Wildwood. While these two “enemies” never expected their paths to cross, their lives become entwined as Marya begs Tam’s help in fleeing her city after her gift of foreseeing the future unexpectedly comes to light.
As Marya finds shelter in the Wildwood amongst Tam’s people, she learns to embrace her Creator-given gift, which she once viewed only as a curse. And as her visions begin to reveal a terrifying future, she begins to realize that the only way to survive the coming danger is for all the peoples of Alyna to band together.
As a fan of Christian fantasy, I found this tale to be engaging and delightful—and I am confident that other readers will, too. While the Christian elements of Seer of the Wildwood are not overt, the major theme of the novel is undeniably Christian in nature. In the words of the author, the Creator “gives gifts to His people to encourage and equip others.” As Marya wrestles to find the purpose of her gift, readers are similarly encouraged to consider how their God-given gifts can be a blessing in own world.
My one complaint is that I wanted more! While I do look forward to getting to know other characters better in the remaining three books of the Bonded Realm series, I do hope Marya and Tam’s story is not done.
FTC Disclaimer: I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book, which I received from the author. All views expressed are solely my honest opinion.
This was my first book by this author and I loved it! It is a romance with fantasy elements and a Christian theme with a Creator. This is a “happy for now” romance within a saga series. I loved the world building with this book and the way that magical “gifts” from the Creator are portrayed and developed. I loved getting to know our characters and their development over the length of the book. With visions and family, friends and foes, betrayals and love, this book has it all. I didn’t want to put it down and I cannot wait to read the next book in this series when it releases! This will not be my last book from this author (I just downloaded a bit of a prequel by signing up for the author’s newsletter and I’m excited to dive in!).
I received an ARC of this book via Just Read Tours and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Seer of the Wildwood Bonded Realms #1 By Regan Allen
This book opens with Marya Santelyn running. Her curse made itself known in a public setting, and whatever she said while in its grip could cost her, her life. Her only hope of escape is in requesting aid from one of the Barbarians crossing through her city.
When a young woman asks him to take her with him, Tam Randene can't refuse her. When he learns she has been blessed with the gift of visions, he vows to be her protector and to hide her in the Wildwood among his people. Now he needs to convince her that her feared curse is the hope of his people.
With the immediate danger gone, Marya wants to return home, but Tam is convinced that she must stay safely hidden away. And he can't help himself, he has to win her heart and help her discover just who she truly is. But what Marya sees, scares her. Danger is coming.
This is the first book in a new fantasy world. This book finds the main characters dealing with their miscommunications as they confront their feelings. There is a bit of angst amidst various escapes and perilous journeys. Apparently being the first seer in generations is a big thing, and each group wants her for an ability she doesn't want and cannot control.
The idea behind the book has promise, and it is obvious that it is part of a series, while wrapping up the main focus in this book. There is the potential of additional stories for several of the secondary characters. If you like books that have angsty stories that find the characters in doubt of returned feelings and periods of suspense and danger, you will enjoy this book which is most definitely in the Romantasy category.
I was provided a complimentary copy of this book with no expectations but that I provide my honest opinion. All thoughts expressed are my own.
With its immersive world-building, Regan Allen's Seer of the Wildwood transports readers to a tantalizing forest, where a thrilling and unconventional romance takes center stage. Dropped into the story that takes off at a ferocious pace, you can’t help but keep turning pages.
A young woman with the ability to see the future struggles to determine if her ability is a gift or a curse. The rescue that turns into a kidnapping intensifies the romantic tension, leaving the fate of Marya and Tam's relationship uncertain and exciting all the way to the end. Regan Allen’s richly descriptive writing winds a path through the narrative that brings the sights, smells, and fantasy creatures to life with a brilliant imagination. Her characters are delightfully crafted with personal agendas that collide as the adventure unfolds. Differences in culture and perspectives regarding supernatural gifts shape the main characters in unique ways directly impacting the plot. The camouflaged twists in the plot are so well placed throughout the story that the overarching narrative remains enjoyably unpredictable. For a nice fantasy, read this would be a good book to consider. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this novel, which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
I have come to enjoy Fantasy books over the last couple of years. Fantasy Romance is a really intriguing genre. Seer of the Wildwood: A closed door fantasy romance by Regan Allen is the latest book in this genre that I have read. It is Book 1 in the Bonded Realms series.
I will say that this book started off a little slow for me. I wasn't sure if I wanted to continue reading the book, but I pressed on. I am glad I did, as by the second chapter, I was really getting into the storyline and was able to begin enjoying the book. The 2 main characters in the book are Marya Santelyn and Tam Randene. Marya is a City Girl with the ability to see into the Future. Tam is part of the Wildwood Tribe. Tam ends up assisting Marya escape to safe land when Marya's secret ability to forsee the future is found out. I LOVE that Tam steps forward to help even though Marya is considered to be "the enemy' to the Wildwood Tribe. The book gets really intriguing when Tam and Marya begin to take an interest in one another. There are many twists and turns in this book, including the relationship that brews between the 2 main characters. I would recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in Fantasy and Romance. GOOD BOOK!
Seer of the Wildwood is the first book I’ve read by Regan Allen, and it is also the first book in the Bonded Realms series. It’s a clean, closed-door romantic fantasy with intriguing characters and a captivating world.
Marya has a gift she believes is a curse, while others see it as a blessing and seek to use her for their own gain. She struggles to learn how to use her gift and to decide where she belongs—the capital of Alyna or the Wildwood. As powerful people from both sides seek to capture her (and some to win her heart), she envisions a future where the unlikely must band together to survive.
Tam, a Wildwood warrior, vows to protect Marya and hopes to win her heart. His character displays romance and chivalry in a sweet, endearing way.
The setting of the book was excellent. The author vividly describes the land and creatures in a way that makes you feel as though you are truly there.
I also enjoyed the development of the other characters. The book highlights Bay, Narani, and Xan in ways that will hopefully reveal even more about them in the next books.
I look forward to reading the second book to discover what lies ahead for the land of Alyna!
✨ I read this book for fun and chose to review it. All opinions are my own.
Seer of the Wildwood is an interesting dual-perspective read that you won’t want to miss! It’s all kinds of fun! Marya is our main female character. She’s a seer. That means that she can see into the future. Sometimes that’s a gift and sometimes a curse. As she learns how to use it she also learns things about herself.
When she seeks refuge from Tam (leader of his people) she grows. Romance blooms. But danger and trouble are coming. She can see it. It will require their people to band together to overcome and move onward. It’s a great novel.
I’m not normally a fantasy lover. And honestly, I had to look up closed-door romance. Because to me, that meant that umm I’d be reading things best kept behind closed doors. But in the world of books, it just means that the things that happen behind closed doors aren’t being put on the pages but are left to your imagination.
This is book one in a series. Books two and three are out and book four is available for preorder at the time of this review. So get ready to binge-read and anticipate the fourth book!
I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from JustRead Publicity Tours. All views expressed are only my honest opinion. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. All opinions expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the FTC regulations.
I love SEER OF THE WILDWOOD’s fantasy world. This hasn’t been my go-to genre, but I just couldn’t put the book down. I will definitely be reading more fantasy in the future, especially from this series. Well-written and detailed fantasy world, people, cultures, and creatures had me on page one. The 3-D characters liven up the pages to bring this story home. This is NOT a fluffy story, but it does seem to have a heartbeat of its own.
Marya Santelyn from the Merchant’s Guild has a dangerous ability. Some call it a blessing, but others want to take advantage of her. Tam Radene considers Marya his prize after he rescues her and discovers her unique and rare gift. She would be a powerful ally, but if he won her heart, he could rule his tribe. That is a powerful motivation; he is not the only one seeking her out. I enjoyed the completion, danger, and adventuresome suspense woven expertly into this story.
I was given a copy of this book to review, and these are my honest thoughts and opinions. I purchased my own Kindle copy the day it released because this is a reread for me.
This book took me a little bit to get into since fantasy is not my typical genre but I thought the story was good and by the end of the book I was interested in reading the other books in the series. I have read this author’s historical romance stories so I was excited to see her try a new genre. The beginning was a slow start for me but after the first few chapters I was engaged in the story and wondering how everything would turn out for the characters. I liked how Tam’s people helped Marya see a different way of life and helped her to understand that her visions weren’t a curse but a blessing. I also liked seeing Tam and Marya’s relationship change and grow into love. I loved seeing how they were willing to sacrifice anything for the other. I look forward to picking up the other books in this series and seeing what happens next.
I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors. A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.
If you enjoy new worlds with magic, warriors and royalty…this is a great place to find it.
The author has created a world that is peopled by two races. They do not trust each other but their worlds collide when a warrior from the Wildwood and a woman from the merchant guild end up together rescuing each other in different ways.
I loved the hero, his bravery and his decision to be better and improve himself only increases when the heroine enters his life.
The heroine is caught between two worlds and her gift. The journey to self discovery and romance is not easy.
The plot line draws the reader in at the beginning pages and twists with danger and deception. The romance is clean and sweet but rich with emotion.
I can’t wait for the next episode in this series!
I received an ARC only of this book and all opinions are my own!
Tam and Marya are from two different worlds, think nomads and city dwellers, at odds in every way. But with Tam’s support, Marya’s visions just might bring them together.
With a dramatic first meeting, where she is stepping outside of everything expected of her and he gets the chance to play rescuer, Regan Allen’s Seer of the Wildwood is Romantic Fantasy that ticks all the boxes for me. Written with an exuberance and a lively pace that propels the reader along, this is a quick read with slow burning romance between an independent woman and a self made warrior ready to devote his life to her.
Highly recommended. But fair warning that deciding to just try a paragraph or two may find you suddenly 30% in.
This review refers to a digital copy that I voluntarily received and read, courtesy of the author. A positive review was not required and all opinions expressed are my own.
Seer of the Wildwood by Regan Allen Bonded Realms Series Book One Tam Randene of the Falling Waters has rescued a Blessed woman. He won’t let her go when he realizes she’s a seer. He is now her protector. This will help prove himself to his tribe, bringing a seer to them. Marya Santelyn hates her curse. Especially after it appeared at the wrong time; thankfully, a Barbarian was at the gate on his kryal, and she could escape the temple guards. Tam wants to keep her in the mountains, but Marya must return to her father and everyday life. She wants to be free, not used by people for her gift. So many unique characters in this book, human and other. I loved this story! https://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com...
Seer of the Wildwoods captured an imaginative world and brought it to life before my eyes, it is a story that lingers with you too.
This was my first time reading a book by Regan Allen, and I sincerely liked the setting and character development skills she displayed. Both Marya and Tam were delightful characters with distinct personalities.
When this story started, I wasn’t quite sure where it would lead or how Regan Allen would explain so many of the world-building aspects she presented. It was easy to follow along as she used different character experiences to explain the world she had taken us to.
The romance between Tam and Marya was well developed and sweet to read.
I enjoyed reading this fantasy style story! Marya has a secret. She blacks out and sees visions, though she never remembers them when she wakes up and she is afraid that her so called gift will define her future and keep her locked away. But, secrets have a funny way of coming to the light, and hers does so at the most inconvenient time. When she becomes a captive, she has the opportunity to embrace her gift and learn to use it.
This story is wonderful! I enjoyed the characters, each of which are well written. The world was spectacular and I look forward to reading the next book in the series!
I received this book from Just Read. This is my honest review.
I am an occasional fantasy reader. I’ve never read fantasy romance, per se, but this one is a winner. When the author says "low-spice", what she means is "no spice". The spiciest bit is a highly emotional kiss. Also, I would say there is no “magic”. The powers the characters employ are readily seen in the scriptures except for one, which I would categorize as the ability to manipulate an element. Not the same as sorcery. The characters are witty, warm, and engaging. The world is visually interesting and well defined. I’m looking forward to book 2.
I had picked up this book at the recommendation of a friend, but had others I needed to read right away. Then book 2 came out, and when I saw book 3 was up for pre-order, I knew I needed to start reading the series and find out if I liked it enough to pre-order #3. Thankfully I'd gotten the prequel by signing up for the author's newsletters, so started in with that one. I was hooked! Great job in creating a believable world, wonderful characters, and fun little fantasy additions that add spark to the whole thing.
If you enjoy fantasy combined with romance, you won't want to miss Regan Allen's impressive debut in this genre. She creates a world that draws you into it from the first page, and when you've turned the last page, you'll be eagerly awaiting the next of the Bonded Realms stories. I know I am.
Decent character driven story. Secondary characters will most likely have stories of their own in future books. The romance is mild yet sweet. There is some mild adventure violence. The seer's vision will play out in future books.M
A change of pace and sort of reminded me a little bit of a show i watch and love. It's more a little fantasy and a little sci-fi to me, but a great story! Highly recommend!
