What in the name of all things fcked up did I just read?!?!?! More importantly, what is wrong with me?! The way that I enjoyed this book is clearly an indication of some untreated mental illness. My reactions to this were all sorts of wrong. I was mad when the normal response would be cheering the FMC on, I was sad when I probably should have been happy because screw that character, the only part I probably got right was the fact that I was aroused when this is literally EROTIC horror. That being said, read the trigger warnings. There is an entire page of them for the 8 chapters. I've read dark books and I've read erotic horror books, but I have NEVER read a book like this before! And I won't even get started on that ending.....

Rating on a novella scale. This was horror and horrid alright. THE END. Poor baby. Overall this was really good. It accomplished a lot for a novella. It’s super dark and leaves you guessing in what direction it is going in. FUCK ANDY. She was so close😭😭😭 I would only recommend reading this if you are okay with horrible shit. I’m so bummed she didn’t get out or kill him and that she’s trapped. I will say I think this could be scarier and crazier but I still think it got the job done

I knew as soon as Cerise threw her phone out the car window she was in trouble….has this girl never watched a scary movie??? We Don’t Do That….things definitely went downhill for her quick after that….she made some horrible life decisions & they followed her all the way to the Pert/Pet Motel….the r in the sign was not lit…strange coincidence??? I think not
At the Pet Motel she meets Andy….he seems harmless enough but aren’t they always the crazy ones….things spiral from there & make her question every life choice she’s made when it comes to love….needless to say things aren’t always as they seem & the life Cerise once lived/knew is completely different now
Give this short novella a read….I finished it in a little over an hour…did it make me question my sanity??? Maybe a little….Or did I learn a few life lessons??? Maybe a lot….I would definitely not do most of the things she did after her call from Jen but she was just trying to make life more interesting….she definitely got that

I felt zero sympathy for Cherise, not simply because of her background, but also to the character’s lack of believability. Some parts moved too fast before the plot was established. With that said, I did like the darkness and depravity.

Pet Motel is a story of consequences and misfortune. It would appeal to readers who enjoy short, dark erotic horror stories.

I was not the target audience for this 😅

I thought this was a horror romance and missed that it was indeed NOT 😂

Did I stay until the end? Yes.

Was I riveted? Yes. Horrified? Also, yes.

Have a good time? Well…lol. I did have a time…

It wasn’t that it was a bad time per se…just a traumatizing one 😆

It was definitely well written and the twists and turns were…edge of your seat crazy train!

I was hesitant to rate because there were bits of it that I was not having a good time with but at the same time immediately recognized… that I am definitely not the target audience.

The authors did well with their writing and story telling. It kept me on edge for sure…so I’m rating for that rather than what I did/didn’t like.

This was a well written novella, a horror erotica. I will say it was written well and flowed well for a short read.
I've never really read much horror. Im not sold that it's for me, I may just stick closer to dark grey, medium to dark romance, lol.

OMG, WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. FREAKING. HELL. WAS THAT HOT MESS???

I don’t know what book those 5-star reviewers read, but it sure wasn’t the one I just suffered through. Even the 4-stars got a hard side-eye from me - because no way was this even close to decent, let alone good.

For real, was this supposed to be horror? Because if so, it failed harder than my will to adult on a Monday. This wasn’t even the “so bad it’s good” kind of B-movie trash - it was more like some Z-level disaster filmed in someone’s damp, forgotten basement with a budget that looks like it came straight from expired coupon. The whole thing screamed “middle school fanfic written at 3am by someone who thinks watching one TikTok about horror tropes counts as research.”

You know it's bad when you have to do all the mental legwork because the author forgot that “description” is kind of a basic requirement. Scenes flew by faster than me running from responsibilities - no tension, no suspense, just a chaotic blur of WTF. Horror? Please. The only terrifying part was how hard I had to work to stay invested. At some point, I genuinely couldn’t tell if I was reading the book or rewriting it in my head just to make sense of it.

Also, I hate that I have to say this - but I couldn’t bring myself to care about the FMC. They gave her all the personality of a houseplant and expected me to sob for her. She could’ve died in chapter two and I would’ve blinked once and kept it moving.

Then, oh lord, the ending. A cosmic joke wrapped in a dumpster fire. I legit laughed out loud - not because it was funny, but because it was THAT ridiculous.

I’m not done dragging this hot mess through the mud. Deep breath...
Look, I’m a sucker for dark, twisted stories that push boundaries - bring on the moral chaos. But the incest?? THE FREAKING INCEST?? No warning, just a sudden “SURPRISE, HERE’S YOUR GROSS-OUT MOMENT.” And finding out after the fact… That’s a new low of “I don’t give a damn about my readers.” I’m not mad for me - I’m mad for anyone who got blindsided or triggered by that nonsense.

Somewhere deep in this mess, I think there was a starving horror story trying to claw its way out. But it got buried under bad writing, shallow characters, and a plot that felt like it was held together with tape and unhinged vibes.

RIP to my time, my tolerance, and the brain cells I sacrificed reading this.

I regret spending $3.74 on this crap
