I've been k!dn@pp3d by a masked man. He looks like a cliché, and I make sure to let him know it. My mouth tends to get me in trouble, and my humor knows no bounds. He doesn't know what to make of me, and we end up stuck together by a stroke of weird luck. A neurodivergent woman and a morally questionable k!ll3r, I wonder what trouble we'll get into?
Rory
I've never been talked to like that in my life, and new ideas spark due to a different choice. She is everything I never expected, but I can't help myself when it comes to meeting her particular needs. I find new ways of coping that don't involve blood and senseless k!lling. The road ahead is painted in iridescent colors, and a woman I least expected to draw my attention away from my darker impulses, or does it?

So….it’s no secret that my love for RNA is like a cross between being wrapped in the warm embrace of a sparkly, pink straight jacket and the catharsis you feel after landing safe from a sky dive. You know -emotional quicksand. Sweet at first, but before you know it -her characters have you completely stuck in your feelings & pulled under. My girl pulls those thoughts and experiences RIGHT OUT OF MY HEAD making me feel like I need to dramatically stare out of a window and contemplate my life choices while a soft breeze ruffles my hair.
I had the absolute pleasure to alpha read Granite & Sugar. I cackled. I swooned. I fell in love with Rory and Nikki. I accused RNA of digging around in my head and using material from my life……
I love you more than grilled cheese sandwiches, Lana ❤

Nikki is an absolute firecracker! Her sharp wit, unwavering humor, and neurodivergent perspective shine throughout the story. She's the kind of character you root for even when she's making the most questionable decisions. The author handles Nikki's ASD, anxiety, and trauma with sensitivity and authenticity, creating a character that feels incredibly real and relatable, despite the fantastical situation.
Rory is a fascinating and morally ambiguous character. The author skillfully peels back the layers of his hardened exterior, revealing glimpses of vulnerability and a desperate search for something more. His journey is compelling, and watching him navigate his darker impulses while being challenged by Nikki's presence is captivating.
The dynamic between Nikki and Rory is electric. Their interactions are filled with witty banter, palpable tension, and a surprising amount of tenderness. The story explores BDSM elements thoughtfully and within the context of their evolving relationship. It's a romance that doesn't shy away from the darkness, but also finds beauty in the unconventional connection between these two broken souls.
R.N.A. masterfully navigates the heavy themes and trigger warnings (listed above, please read them!) with a deft hand. The gore and violence are not gratuitous but serve to highlight the darkness that Rory is trying to escape. The author tackles sensitive issues like trauma, anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation with respect and nuance.
Granite & Sugar is not for the faint of heart, but if you're looking for a dark romance that is intelligently written, emotionally resonant, and utterly addictive, this is a must-read. Be prepared to be challenged, captivated, and maybe even a little bit changed. Highly recommended!
It took a minute for everything to start flowing, but once it took off I really enjoyed it! I love how there was just the right amount happening plot-wise that it didn’t distract from the characters getting to know each other and building a relationship, it makes me feel like I have a deeper connection with them and love them even more. I was really concerned at first that the smut scenes weren’t going to be very detailed, but then they picked up and they were great! The car scene was 🥵.
Overall it was a good read! The neurodivergent representation was amazing! Nikki is such a good character! I honestly think I loved her more than Rory! I also love how Rory worked to better himself for Nikki and tried his best to love her the way that she needed. I do kind of feel like him deciding that he wanted to be a better man for her was a little rushed, which is why I rated it 4 stars instead of 5, but if you are interested in a more insta-love kind of relationship, then this book is definitely for you!
Ummmm wow. This was a little different but I loved it. Serial killer turned domesticated, domesticated killer—as Nikki says. Two individuals—Nikki & Rory—come together in a very odd, but perfect for them, way. All the mental health issues that Nikki has, and that Rory took the time to research and learn about it was so touching. I swooned. And for Nikki to accept Rorys’ love was lovely to read. 💕❤️
I loved this book so much! Oh my gosh! Yet another fantastic RNA book, holy wow. This duo is iconic, i was cackling so much and the banter was always on top! I will be yapping about this book to everyone because it might go on my 2025 6 star reads, this was amazing, it got me out of a reading slump and i just loved it through the whole time! Would very much recommend to anyone and everyone who wants a good time!
This was definitely a great read. I have not read many stories with a neurodivergent fmc or any character for the matter so it definitely had me intrigued. The spice scene where just the right amount of spice and there is still a story line as well which I prefer. Make sure to read your trigger warnings before reading this book.
“As I’ve thought before, I’m fucked now. I’m dating a killer, and I’m not even mad.”
OMG! I love this book so so so much! I don’t think I have laughing so much from one book. I fell in love with Nikki and Rory instantly. I mean, from the beginning of the story I was hooked. The writing spoke to me in a way that felt like real life. I was in the story with them. They were funny and loving it was epic. The banter between them was chef’s kiss. I really loved it so much. Only Nikki, came turn her kidnapper into her now love her life domesticated killer. HAHA!! But, Rory that man has my heart. He was such a sweet man that did everything to make her happy. He saw things in a different light for Nikki. To understand her and her condition. He was patient and I mean, he even stayed and did research her neurodivergent condition. He makes you swoon. Yes, I am swooning over a kidnapper because he is ultimately perfection. This book has easy became one of my favorites and I will be recommending it to everyone. Thank you RNA for the opportunity to read this magnificent book. I can’t wait to read more from you.
“I find you fascinating, nonetheless. Perhaps you are my new obsession.”

Nikki is still figuring out her life and Rory is a serial unaliver who falls for her. Both MCs are nuanced and broken in different ways. They slowly navigate their preferences, trauma, insecurities, and impulses to discover who they wish to be together.
Granite & Sugar delivers a dark, twisted, and unconventional love story!
I really enjoyed this book. I was intrigued by this book because of the details the author gave me. I would recommend reading this book but please check the trigger warnings. I love how this made me realize what people go through with their different perspectives. I love how Rory finds a different way to make his life better with Niki after he kidnapped her. I absolutely loved this book! Can you go wrong with a nuerospicy FMC and a golden retriever with the same taste in kinks? Definitely not! This book had my attention from the first page and I love everything about Nikki and Rory! Must read!!
I loved this book from the beginning to the ending ! This is the first book I’ve read from this author and can’t wait to read more . Spice level 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Rory and Nikki are my new favorite couple .This is a must read
I loved this book so much, had me kicking my feet and giggling. It seemed way too relatable and like she was in my head. I’m obsessed with the Sleep Token references. RNA always leaves me surprised I can’t wait for what’s next 🖤
This book was such an amazing read! Nikki, the FMC, is now a favorite for me! She is sassy, quirky, and unabashedly herself. It was so nice to be able to relate so well to this neurospicy woman. And don’t get me started on our man, Rory. 🥵 This book is SPICY, hilarious, and just all the best vibes you can get!
Likes: the characters. The cover. unique situation (not something I read before). the spice. interaction and growth of characters. Neurodivergent friendly. Toast. Last club scene. Crab Rangoons.
Awww Rory you sweet psychopath. The banter in this book had me laughing most of this book. Do yourself a favor and read this. Great spice! Add this to your tbr.
Cute book and story, however, there were some cringy moments. Not a fan of that - but it’s not for everyone. I loved the fact that real life was brought into this and written pretty close to accurate.
I couldn't get enough of Rory & Nikki! 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 vibes with all kinds of yumminess! A dark and delicious twist that had me lusting for more at the end. Everything about this book was DELISH! Who knew that just another everyday walk home would turn into something so.....well you'll have to read it to find out! Granite & Sugar was literally everything! I can't wait to dive into more of this authors books!
Granite & Sugar by R.N.A. delivers a wildly unconventional story where dark humor, raw vulnerability, and an unexpected romance collide.
Nikki, a fiercely independent and neurodivergent woman, finds herself abducted by a masked stranger who looks like every villain trope come to life. But Nikki is no ordinary victim—her razor-sharp wit and fearless attitude quickly unsettle her captor, challenging every expectation he had.
Rory, a morally complicated killer accustomed to violence, never imagined meeting someone like Nikki. Her relentless honesty and chaotic charm stir something inside him—something that pulls him away from the bloody path he’s always walked. With Nikki at his side, Rory begins to glimpse a life beyond the darkness, a future colored by emotions he thought he had long buried.
R.N.A. crafts a story full of banter, tension, and unexpected tenderness, breathing life into two broken souls who find an unlikely sense of home in each other. Nikki’s portrayal as a neurodivergent heroine is both authentic and empowering, offering readers a refreshing take on resilience and connection.
Packed with sharp dialogue, emotional grit, and undeniable chemistry, Granite & Sugar is a captivating journey through chaos, healing, and the complicated dance between danger and love.
Granite & Sugar was just as it's name describes, hard yet sweet. Nikki and Rory are a very odd set of characters but put them together and you have a delicious combination!
This dark romance was wonderfully written and refreshing as I haven't quite read anything like it prior. Our FMC, Nikki, has some mental health issues and fully expresses that she knows about them and understands that she is different. This quirk of hers truly does save her life when our MMC, Rory decides that she will be his next victim.
Rory is an interesting character who blossoms after making a simple mistake of letting his victim speak. He goes from a 'scary' character to one with the biggest heart I've ever seen. The way he treats Nikki and continues to adapt to make life easier for her was just beautiful and sweet.
I loved the dynamic between the two of them and how the k!nk club fit into their lifestyle and how they just accepted that they are not like most people in how they go about their lives. They both definitely beat to a different drum than most people in society and through this book they realize that they are great for each other - even if they met in the most peculiar way.
R.N.A., you've outdone yourself yet again and I cannot wait for whatever you write next!!!
‘Part of me wants to tread her mind and explore all the depths of her, not just her body. My sane part knows she’s far too complex and that I’ll get lost or drown trying to figure her out. Not that she needs figuring out. I have no intention of changing her. Now that I understand more about her, trauma aside, I’m learning how to adapt and adjust to her needs. What may be defined as quirks are merely idiosyncrasies that make her, uniquely her.’
I think the reason I enjoy reading RNA’s books so much is their complete lack of ordinariness!
We are voyeurs in Nikki and Rory’s relationship. As each requires their own unique way of dealing within their world, some of their neurospicy and psychopathic attributes attract, forming a strangely cohesive safe space for two.
Not your everyday romance, but one that shows how much love, in its truest form, can bring a sense of wonder.
This was a fun book to write! I pulled from my own dumpster-fire hat for Nikki's character, using some of my own experiences to enhance her character. Autism is a spectrum, and while Nikki is autistic and traumatized, that doesn't mean it's everyone's story. There is dark, millennial humor, and crassness. Rory and Nikki are completely unhinged and deranged, but somehow they figure it out together. A serial killer who doesn't understand people, but learns to when Nikki opens her mouth.
Side note: this story began from seeing all the memes and videos of "my bestie and I getting kidnapped" scenarios and for Sleep Token worship. The title comes from two of their songs that fit Nikki and Rory's story. When I pictured how the kidnapping scenario would go with an autistic woman in her 30s, this story was born.
Granite & Sugar was such an unexpected masterpiece!! From the moment I start it just couldn't go down!
Nikki and Rory meet in shall we say an unorthodox way and from that moment you are hooked! Nikki being neurodivergent and Rory being a killer, very odd match but damn they work so well together. RNA goes through mental health issues with Nikki and how Rory takes the time to understand not only Nikki but how things affect Nikki.
Domesticated serial killer who turns into the best Labrador just made me love Rory more..
This book is one for the ages <3

This Is the second time that I have read a book by RNA. I love that her FMCs are so very different from other FMCs I read in other books. In this case the FMC is neurodivergent or as she likes to say “neuro-spicy.” This was such an incredible book to read. The dynamic between the FMC and the MMC was such a scintillating spark. A spark that began from their unusual “meet-cute.” IYKYK!! I loved watching these two loners navigate this thing between them. Neither of them were looking for a relationship and yet found themselves in one. Thank you, R.N.A for another dark and amazing read! I need to get caught up on my TBR list so I can get to read your other books!
