I love Lana Sky's writing style, but I always feel like she abruptly ends books and the conclusions come too quickly. This series was confusing, and I felt like there was a lot going on but also nothing at all.
Daze in the first book just seemed eh. Was really confused by him. Wouldn't have wanted to lose my virginity to him. Nor watch his child all night. His whole demeanor screamed RUN. But he definitely redeemed himself by book 2 and by this book I was in love with him.
Unlike most heroines in smut novels, I actually liked Frey! She grew on me as a person and I can understand her naivety coming from her sheltered background.
The whole thing with Hale seemed to he pushed to the side which really sucks. I would have liked to hear and know more about him, and what kind of brother he was.
The whole wedding/Colton/father/trafficking/sacrifice thing. Like WHAT!? WHAT!? Seriously, WHAT? So confusing and makes no sense.
Also, Daze didn't even utilize nor continue trying to get the big bad guys to side with him and save Frey and the city. He got the same guys as the last novel. So I guess that storyline is scrapped? Did he go back in charge? Is he just going to run the gym?
Also, his sister, Lyra. She always loved him and looked out for him? Is that why she stayed with someone hell bent on killing him or destroying him? Would have liked to see a bit more into their relationship as well. And she has a kid??? Where? All we hear about is Daze's kid, Sammy. Where's her kid??
Lastly, the sex scenes were lame. The first two books were hot. This book? Its like now that they said they love each other that means the sex has to be lame. Would have definitely liked some of the heat from the first two books. Because let's face it, that's why we really read this type of book anyway.
All in all I liked the characters, but the story was a mess. In 3 novels, around 600 pages, it shouldn't have been so confusing and all loose ends should have been tied up. I felt none of that.
I will probably re-read in the future to see if I have a better understanding. If not, I'll be re-reading for Frey and Daze.
