Great police stories!
A series of short stories written by a hard working police officer who served twenty years with the NYPD. The author writes with passion and grit, revealing an intimate portrait of the hard life she lived and the experiences she had serving the people of New York City. A true working cop, the insights she gained through her career are of value to any police officer today as well as residents of the city. I’m glad she wrote of these experiences and happy that she is now retired and living in gratitude. Fine work!

Bartoldus had an interesting and useful career in various units of the NYPD. Just as cops do recounting stories in a bar, she does jump from one part of her career to another and doesn't recount many details such as names, dates, locations. That doesn't interfere with her story telling. She strikes me as the type of cop I'd like to have as my back-up or shift partner.

great story by a great cop
This old ER doc got to see some of this but not all the time and every day
The author tried to defuse things when possible
Some people are impossible
Work like this eventually can suck the life out of you
Or you get hardened
20 years is enough
