Embark on a gripping journey through the streets of New York City, with an NYPD Police Officer as your guide. Thrilling tales of wrestling with armed felons, chasing perpetrators through dark streets, and negotiating with violent emotionally disturbed individuals combines with accounts of practical jokes, pranks, and blunders to give the reader a heart-pounding adventure ride. Told in short stories sure to keep you gripping the edge of your seat, Twenty and Out is a behind-the-scenes first hand account of what the author witnessed during her twenty year career in the NYPD.
Bartoldus had an interesting and useful career in various units of the NYPD. Just as cops do recounting stories in a bar, she does jump from one part of her career to another and doesn't recount many details such as names, dates, locations. That doesn't interfere with her story telling. She strikes me as the type of cop I'd like to have as my back-up or shift partner.
Left me wanting more I couldn't put the book down!
I liked everthing about this book! From her days in TD 20 along the Queens Blvd lines to her time in various functional positions in the 103...just hope she'll add more stories from her repetior
This old ER doc got to see some of this but not all the time and every day The author tried to defuse things when possible Some people are impossible Work like this eventually can suck the life out of you Or you get hardened 20 years is enough
