What pissed me off the most about this book was the wasted potential. It had all the right ingredients to be amazing, but instead, we got this rushed disaster.
They met five minutes ago and somehow they’re in love? Be serious. Nothing had time to develop—no emotional build-up, no tension, nothing. Just vibes and bad decisions.
The FMC’s brother was being tortured, and yet she still had time to boink the MMC multiple times. Like… girl, priorities??
Also, the MMC brought a woman he just met into his home with his child there, and left them alone. That’s not romance, that’s reckless. I don’t care how hot someone is, that’s weird.
The FMC could’ve eaten, but the author left the plate untouched. She had so much potential to be complex, but it never went there. Everything was surface-level. When exactly did they fall in love? I missed it.
Aside from being one of the most disappointing books I’ve read in a while, I’ll give it this: I occasionally liked the FMC. But that’s where the compliments end.

I DNFed the first book I picked up from this author… but this one’s a single dad story, so we’ll see how it goes 👀
