Kincaid Bayberry has been serving with the Eta unit since coming of age and only recently feels like he’s a true warrior. With Kendrick’s help, his magic seems to be cooperating for once, and he’s making a difference. But, with a mate on the way and so much at stake, he knows that even a single mistake could result in tragedy, which has skyrocketed his anxiety. So, when the queen needs someone to head to the human world and away from the chaos, he volunteers. Humans he could handle. Or so he thought.

Zadie Williams loves her profession but hates her job. All of her ideals revolving around shaping young minds has been eroded by years of bureaucratic and political red tape. Working late into the evening, she meets someone who offers her a chance to do what she has been dreaming of. She just has to be brave enough to take that step forward.

As danger closes in all around them, will two people doing their very best be enough to make a difference?

This was a fun one that brought closure to several arcs. I feel like we're done with Eire Danu now, and are likely headed to Storm Keep for the final pillar city arc.

I've said in it in other reviews, but this is a YMMV series. It is silly and over the top at times, and the secondary cast is so huge that they are starting to run together now. But I think it is great fun wrapped around an intriguing overall plot, and I love it. I particularly love that Meryn is the main character throughout the series, even though we have new couples come into focus with each book. I struggle with PNR and end up bailing, even on series I really like (Psy-Changeling, BDB, etc) because I never like any couple as much as the first couple, and so I am just hanging in there for glimpses of them...until I'm over it and bail. So this format really works for me.

It feels like we're moving into the end stretch of the overall story, and I'm excited to see how things resolve. The demon is fascinating to me, and I think that is going to be a wild ride.

This one was one of the best book from the series.

It is very good place for a interlude when we are moving towards the climax of the last five or so books 📚... it might be strange for people when I say this but the Meryn fans will understand.

The story moved fast in this one. We are going from Zoe hot fire to other but it was to be expected... We got so many closers for so many characters. I was happier see Meryn in general mode and her brilliance in tactical operations.

I am happy see this arc ending this way... for the moment...

I know it's going to be a long year to wait for the next book but I have these 15 books to keep me company. I reread the entire series at least couple of times a year but this time I might reread more because of this book.

This was actually so good I will probably start reading the series from the first book today... I would have like to see more of the couple but as I said, story is moving forward brilliantly 👏.

I can't wait to go to next city and new people and new characters.

Thank you Alanea Alder for this wonderful world where all people are accepted and loved. We should strive to be better. Hopefully, we see more kindness in this world and then our whole world will be safe haven like a pillar city with noble unit warrior with whom we can share our soul. Until then we take shelter in your books.

Reading this series is such a joy! These characters have become so much more than characters- they're our friends, our family ! They feel like LOVE, HOME & HAPPINESS

This book brings us the conclusions to :
1) The missing fae
2) Queen Alek's health issues
3) What is up with Pierce

It also brings us Kincaid's mate Zadie! She definitely fits right in with our fierce tribe of mated women !

There are so many laughs and several tears to be shed in this book. Meryn faces her hardest trial yet & it's a doozy.

It's so humbling to watch her acknowledge her feelings and learn control of her emotions

She also has a couple of very INTERESTING meetings with her demon...

I loved the 'home movies' of Meryn with her parents.

I loved the flashes of seeing some of our fave characters from the pillar cities, too!

I missed Dani & Creeley and longed for more of our Lyconian crew - I miss Keelan & Colton ❤️

Absolutely loved it.

If you know anything about me, then you know I love Alanea Alder so much. And I love The Bewitched and Bewildered series so freaking much. I can never express the true love I have for this series well enough, there will never be enough words. This was book 15 of the series and I was already bawling my eyes out on page 36… and then, it didn’t stop until the end. Alanea’s heart is so clear in her writing and it’s so beautifully written on every page and in every interaction of her characters.

By now you know that in every book we get a new mated couple and in this one, Kincaid finally meets his mate, Zadie! There is still all of our favorite characters of course, with our badass leader Meryn at the helm. And even though this story was centered around Kincaid and Zadie it really focused on Meryn a lot, which was central to the ending of this story. I love Meryn, so the more we get of her the merrier! But, I really liked how this book was set up. I was so surprised with how much we learned by the end of it and we finally get some closure on the source of all the ferals, missing Fae and children! **I will not be giving any spoilers on what is discovered, whatsoever either. But, Kincaid and Zadie were vital to the care of the children in this book.**

"As long as my heart beats, I protect those that cannot protect themselves. I swear on my life that I would rather slit my own throat than harm you.”

Now, there are still problems though.. and while we seem to be moving on from Eire Danu.. Storm Keep has reared its ugly head and things are not what they seem, I’m looking forward to heading to that Pillar City next!

There were so many beautiful, beautiful moments in this book, as well so much laughter and love. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the absolute spot on humor that Alanea can emulate through her characters and the love they have for each other. This book completely captures the found family trope like no other I’ve ever read, it was beautiful. The acceptance and complete trust they give and show one another in these books is like nothing else I’ve found in another series. Please, if I can convince anyone to read a book or series, let it be this one.

"I swear to serve House Eirson faithfully for the remainder of my days. I will be a shield for its children and a sword for its people. If blood is to be spilt it will be mine over theirs. This, I do swear eternally."

amazing

I literally balled my eyes out at certain parts through my read of My Eternal Light. Alanea Alder, Bewitched and Bewildered Series is hands-down my all-time favourite series. this is no exception to the rest is fabulous and caused me to have all the feels and different emotions.
15 books in on this journey with this magnificent author, and I cannot wait for the least the next five to see what happens in a series. It touches place deep in my heart and soul and I hope all readers at some point find a book or series that makes them feel the way this series makes me feel.
I would highly recommend this series to absolutely anyone. Happy reading, I hope you all enjoy as much as I do!

even though i had my spreadsheet with all the main characters and their relationships, it was hard for me to remember who was who and how they were related to meryn.

i feel like there is no need for any more couples as romantic line is nonexistent anyway, only the big plot and meryn’s reactions and actions to everything are important. every new couple has the same exact story. they see each other for the first time and then they are completely devoted to each other as mates - the end.

at least, if my calculations are correct, the last future 5 books in the series are going to be in the new location - storm keep. we’ll finally see the end of this long saga.

Excellent Read!!

I love love this series. I always stop reading my current books to read the next one in this series as I have to wait a year to get the next book in this series. This series is so good I read in the day I receive it I cannot put them down. This book was no different. I love Martin and the warriors. This book I didn't laugh half as much as I have in all the past books but that was due to the main subject. This book on a very real issue in the world today and as a former police officer it brought back memories of cases & the worst of humans I ever met. But that is just how good Ms. Alder describes her scenes & the characters and their feelings. Several of the characters past were revealed in this book. It was an excellent read and I thank Ms. Alder for highlighting a very real and disgusting issue in regard to the treatment of children by families. A must read but I advise everyone to read the books in order so you can see the character development and see how the couples come to be. The books are hilarious normally. And this one had hilarious scenes but I just couldn't laugh as I normally do.

I doubt I’ll be able to adequately articulate how much I loved this book.

I’ll miss the demon LOL

We get to watch a few orbs, Kincaid kick ass, Meryn shine at what she does best and Aiden give her the freedom to do what has to be done.

Queen Alexandra proves why she has ruled so well when she confronts the witches council and we see how twisted they have become.

I cannot wait for hell to rain down on those behind the evil in Storm Keep.

I loved the book, one of my favs, but .......
I found it very strange that children kept in a cage all their lives can speak better than me. How they called Meryn, Ms Meryn and Mr Aiden etc. There's no way they should express themselves so well, unless because they are fae they learn quicker, but then again who taught them. No way would their dads, the bad men, would educate them, just to kill them. It didn't add up or make sense. Still enjoyable to read.

As usual Alanea writes another amazing story! Its amazing to see how the overall plot for the series is coming closer to the end.

One thing I am sad about is that it was supposed to be Kincaids story but we barely got any scenes with them as a couple. I feel like all the other books focused on both the mating and the overall plot. This book seemed to focus more on the overall plot (not that that's exactly a bad thing but ya know).

Cant wait til we get to the final city!

Absolutely LOVE this series!!!

As an avid reader it becomes harder and harder to find a good series that keeps you interested and engaged. This series is a must read and checks all the boxes: great heroine that makes you laugh and smile, story is not a rinse and repeat and no horrible cliffhanger. It’s a pre order with out reading the summary because you already know it’s going to be great:)

No Way, No How …

The couples are working together for good and the Bad Men need to be afraid, very afraid! The children are found and brought back to Eire Danu and the families are brought back home. Lycaonia and Noctem Falls join with them to keep the people safe. Earmon’s daughter gets her revenge and frees the women and sends the men to eternal hell.
Thank you, Alanea, for wrapping this up, with a bow. I have loved you since you sent Meryn down that road in a raggedy car. May we all find our mates, sent by the Goddess. Giving thanks that you found yours. Omnia Vincit Amor! Blessings!
Now, I just want to send lots of thunder and lightning to Storm Keep while I eat Pickles and Potato Chips.
Looking forward to all things from the Sacred Forest.
Y’all better buy all 15 in this series, Can’t read just one!

I can’t believe we’re on book 15 and I’m not tired or bored. In fact I’m full of more questions and pieces of the puzzle I’m desperately wanting to solve. I love all of the characters old and new. Kincaid and Zadie were no different. I always feel like I’m coming home when I read one of these books. I’m thinking it’s time for a reread of the whole series.

This will always be one of my favorite comfort series and I will continue it on but good lord.

Was there even an editor? Commas were everywhere, pronouns were all over the place, sentences were incomplete, and it was nearly impossible to follow in places with parts seemingly missing.

This was definitely the weakest in the series because of that. I'm also tired of Meryn *still* being pregnant! What, are we going to have all 29 pregnant people have their babies all in one book?

And the amount of "family" is now so large that 1. It weakens the strength of the word "family" to me and 2. It's completely impossible to keep track of who's who. When Meryn was losing her mind at the end with Pierce joining her team, I couldn't for the life of me even remember who Pierce was.

PLEASE focus on wrapping up the central story line! I'm just here to know Keelan is okay, see Kendrick get crowned, and that Meryn has the baby at this point.

Oh, and hire an editor because no one edited this. ☹️

Ok so this is the second time i read this book… first time was the day it released… and honestly… I think the jitters got to me then so I felt very unsatisfied and a bit disappointed. But August is coming up and I wanted to be more familiar with the Eire Dani Arc so that I can understand the overall story better.

I wrote a review before that I was disappointed but now after the second read, I feel like at that time I was just so hyped… I had been thinking a lot… and I have recently changed my reading mediums… and the stories I currently more often read are more slow, and detailed and they update everyday… so I am in that era..
but American novels, this novel in particular has so many points and they have all been condensed. I like to consider these American books like well movies.. while the novels I regularly read are more like sitcoms.. so yah..

Now about this book:

There are any things to cover:

(1) so everything is in storm keep… I feel like this is so obvious and am kinda mad I didn’t see it coming.. but that was wow.

(2) Kincaid is 150 years old but his parents are 500 years old.. they also gave birth to triplets… keelan was also about 500 I think…I cant help but hope Kendrick is alive… I don’t why.. I don’t know how… but I am not letting go of that hope as of yet.

(3) Kincaid x Zaidy: I liked this pairing.. it was nice and sweet.. other pairings are sweet too.. but they have restrictions, fears, humours and such that just make it a bit less sweet to me… the best examples I can give is Amelia and Darian their bod is not as sweet to me because Amelia likes to annoy Darian… and mess with him… to me it’s just not fun… I really liked that this pairing had none of that quirk… I don’t like those quirks.

(4) I love how much the demon was mentioned in this book.. and that he got a name (Xavier)… you know one thing I am badly hoping for is for Ryuu to get a mate and I can’t help but fantasize that Xavier will end up with Ryuu… not because I think they are perfect for each other but rather because now I am hoping to see both of these twos love story or a happy ending… and what better way then for my top 2 most hoped for people to end up together… that would be sooo cute… especially since both of them have a special bond with meryn.

(5) I think Xavior is not the main big bad guy…. This time I think I caught something important from the demon’s convo with meryn… he want her to find him, he makes offers others can’t say no to, the people he contacts have their own powers and will… for example.. learning about the demon I thought he was the one who created the necklaces. But then what about the eirsons?

Oron’s father had a gift that allowed him to separate things… he used that to stay alive… he was the one killing and taking light from the fae.. the eirsons were the ones who killed eamon and violet and then LIED about it to the demon… the demon can’t lie so his main objective was truly to meet…

The demon said that the witches warned him… well what if the witches lied.. or what if they only warned him that meryn is dangerous to their plans.. that does not mean that she is dangerous to him… what if they warned him because they had a premonition that she would take him…

All this makes me think… the demon is not the evil… he is the power that is being used to do evil…. And he believes himself evil because he sees the destruction caused by his power… but was he the cause, the reason for that no? For evil people to do evil they would have figured out ways from where ever……

So the main evil should be the witch who had all these premonitions right… that witch found out about meryn and wanted her dead, that witch told the eirsons about the Alain that an Alain will become king and kill them… that witch should be the mastermind I think….

(6) One thing I realized after reading this book was that there was soo much information to unpack. Many things happened that I have not even analyzed for example making Darian the king so early revealed so much information. This series endgame will make all the to me kings ascend… Gavriel claimed his heritage as the oldest vampire, Darian ascended to king, bringing oron as guard, and next should be Kendrick or Julian… he will reclaim his kingdom and then I think Aiden might take over from his father as elder and colters will become the next unit commander…

There is so much more that I have not unpacked… knowing this I feel very satisfied.

Previously I felt disappointed in my first read cause I did not see anything to unpack.. I think I had buzzed through it that time. But reading it again now especially reading all the Eiredanu things together bought so much into perspective for me and I don’t feel disappointed at all… I feel very happy even though I got no clue about Caiden’s mate… one possibility that I can think of is that she might be related to some warrior.. because they took all the warrior families to the warrior grounds to protect them against the council… so I think that his mate might be a part of some warrior’s family.

So yah.. I am pretty satisfied after reading it a second time… maybe once I get enough patience I will read all the book from this series together.. but I don’t see that happening until storm keep finishes… host I feel so excited for the next book hope it comes out soon…

I love Alanea's stories, however some of her writing makes me think she doesn't have an editor that checks her work diligently. In almost all of her books, we see the confusion of the words "then" vs "than", so much that it is now just "than" being used everywhere, where it shouldn't.

Next, we have Brie calling Zadie by her name when no one, not even Kincaid, yet knows Zadie's name but somehow Brie does.

At the end, we also have Oron act like he saw what happened with the bad men at the end, but it was stated that Darian used a portal to take him away before that thing that Oron is talking about happened, yet he knows what happens when talking to Meryn about this?? It's small things like this that leaves a lasting impression because it is things an editor could've and should've easily picked up on.

Lastly, it is coming to a head, which I am excited about. But, I'm starting to forget who most of the characters are that were introduced after Noctem Falls.

PS: Meryn is still pregnant, and states that it is 3 months until her due date. This means that all of this sh!t happened in around 6 months!!! Would've been cooler if it took longer, otherwise it makes the characters seem OP more than they already are.

PPS: I can't wait for Kendrick, and most of the other men, to get out of Meryn's too long shadow and take Storm Keep back with his own wits and plans (that he must've been working on for centuries, but won't work because he is not Meryn). As seen, Meryn is starting to become really annoying as a Deus Ex Machina.

I would say that this is about one third romance. Kincaid and Zadie click almost immediately, it kind of felt like the skipped a getting to know you phase and instantly were a proper couple. This book was more focussed on plot progression. Zadie and the kids, another warehouse found, some pretty big bad guys taken out, more chats with the demon, and a potentially new creepy ally? A lot of time was spent stabilising and updating the fae city as Meryn plans to leave. I wasn't crazy about the scene where Meryn's ordering people around for the warehouse. The description felt brief and erratic, I had a hard time picturing what she was talking about. The last fae city book makes sense for Darian, I just thought they should have had the idea sooner.

Normally it's around 5 books per city as Meryn travels to them. There's a bit of uncertainty about what happens next because Storms Keep has become a dangerous place to be. It kind of sounds like she's going home and will deal with Storms Keep from there at least intially. I'm just hoping that Keelan gets sorted soon if they're going home.

I'll be honest, I was losing some patience in the plot. But this had enough progression to keep me and I'm interested to know how everything will tie together as the series moves closer to the end. Even if it's going to take over 5 years to get that. I'd say it's a 2.5, but wasn't my favourite so I can't give a three star rating.

Reading My Eternal Light is like returning home—where love, laughter, and family are abundant. Alanea Alder delivers a heartwarming conclusion that ties up some long-awaited storylines in this particular ARC while introducing us to new joys and challenges. These characters aren’t just characters anymore—they’re friends, family, and the embodiment of love, comfort, and happiness.

And of course, we meet Kincaid's mate, Zadie, who immediately fits in with our fierce tribe of mated women. Zadie brings her own brand of strength and compassion, and it’s so satisfying to watch her become a part of the family.

Expect both laughter and tears in this installment. Meryn, our beloved, quirky heroine, faces her most difficult trial yet. Watching her acknowledge and grapple with her emotions is both humbling and inspiring, especially as she learns control in the most trying circumstances. Her meetings with her demon add a whole new level of intrigue—prepare for some jaw-dropping moments!

One of my favorite aspects was seeing Meryn’s 'home movies' with her parents. They added so much depth to her character and made me fall in love with her all over again. Plus, the glimpses of characters from the pillar cities, like Lycaonia, were a delight.

If you’ve followed the Bewitched and Bewildered series, this book is a beautiful, satisfying next chapter that will make you laugh, cry, and feel like you’re truly part of this magical family.

I have been quite critical of the last few books in this series. I felt it had gotten too big, too many characters and places in each book which were impossible to keep straight in your head. Short synopsis these books are about unit warriors (soldiers) there are shifters, witches Fae and Vampires in each unit and by the time we were well into the series we have been introduced to several units as well as their families townspeople and rulers, a lot of character's as I said. I do think this series now.Needs a cast of characters as well as a short recap of events at the start of each new book, there is a common enemy being fought. The main characters who appear in each book are well written and fun to revisit, Meryn is, of course, the standout. The romance is also a last of the books which lately feels rather rushed, they meet it's instant love then we get a few sexes scenes with a bit of teasing from those around and it's back to buisness. The enemy and the battles being fought demands too much of the books time lately but having said all that I do love the series and will eagerly look forward to the next. Before then though I plan to 're read the series and make some notes on who's who and where everybody belongs, I'm a bit anal like that.......................

Feels like reading a soap opera

By the title, I meant that to mean the characters were so lively and funny, with good character development. I haven't read a story like this before; military+paranormals. The main story seemed abit thin at times, with the current book's main 2 characters taking more page space than I'd like. Personally I'd love to have read more action scenes and battles, as sometimes they seemed to be skimmed over compared to how much page space was given to the characters discussing things. That said, Meryn is my hero, she's so quirky and hilariously none filtered. Thought she would disappear as the story progressed and the spotlight changed, but glad she was still present. My main gripe other than wanting more world building, is the regular grammar mistakes. There are misplaced and extra words which at times I had to mentally correct in my head to make it sound better. Although I would recommend it as far as paranormal stories go for the main story, and for Meryn.
