This book is heavily based on the Christian religion. I'm not judging that, but for someone who doesn't have the best background in the church and just wants help with having a better marriage, hearing what God would want us to do versus finding solutions to situations we may be having.

I particularly didn't like the one story of the man who got upset at his wife because she asked him a question in the middle of a football game. He said he would talk to her later, and she walked away, returned with lunch, kissed him, and said "I love you very much"... he eventually stopped the game and went to apologize... but the motion behind her actions was just not something I relate to and don't see many women doing either.

I find it very sexist and the woman must be ok with what the husband is choosing and thats how God wants you to be. To serve your husband because your husband serves god. It's just not realistic.

A helpful book. I loved the thought of a contract verses a covenant. Also the five different areas of intimacy. And the idea that our goal is to understand each other not necessary to agree.
