BARRON: Devils' Spawn Daddies

Rate this book
He pushed her away for her own safety. Instead, he made her a target.

With another joint investigation with the Garden City police department under way, the Devils’ Spawn MC has finally left its outlaw past behind and gone legit. Yet Barron Priestly would bet his Devils’ Spawn cut that the danger isn’t over. Which makes his regret for pushing Yoanni Sanz away sting that much harder.

If he hadn’t made the monumental mistake of assuming his Daddy Dom proclivities would scare her off, she’d be in his playroom, in his bed, and under his protection. Not dealing with the stress of her father’s illness all alone. And not a tempting target for revenge.

Yoanni hoped a long leave of absence would cure her ache for Barron. Instead, the memory of passion they shared is just as vivid as the pain of its ending. A series of escalating threats sharpens her loneliness to fear—until Barron steps in to reclaim his place at her side. And Yoanni’s inner Little weeps for joy.

But with danger hiding in plain sight, the next attack could come from anywhere—and no bubble of protection is without its weaknesses…

Note : Barron is book two in the Devil’s Spawn Daddies series. It features a different couple from book one, Cutter, but for maximum enjoyment readers are encouraged to read the series in order.

Bestselling and multiple award-winning author Victoria Saccenti writes what she loves to read: contemporary steamy/dark romance, PNR and Fantasy romance, MC Daddies and 20th century military. She can’t resist exploring the twists and turns of human interaction and the ways of love. Her characters are flawed, angsty, and seeking redemption. The good news is she’s an avowed optimist, so expect to read happy endings.
A native of Cuba, she speaks English and Spanish fluently, loves to dance salsa and drink single malt whisky. After thirty years of traveling the world for an international company, she’s settled in Central Florida, where she splits her busy schedule between family and her active muse at Essence Publishing. However, if she could convince her husband to sell their home, she would pack up her computer and move to Scotland, a land she adores.

great story

Loved the depth of the characters and well written plot.

Only thing I had a mild issue with is that she made a poor choice in the kitchen while looking for something, which earned her a well-deserved spanking, but he never asked her what she was looking for. What she was looking wasn’t as important to me as the why she was looking for it, which I thought was a beautiful and tender moment reason. Seems to me if you’re going to punish a little for her bad actions, you would at least pause to find out the why behind her poor choice or at least ask after the punishment was over. The thing she was looking for was considered a non-essential item only added as a plot point to justify first punishment and was never mentioned again. However, it stuck in my mind because he never bothered to even consider she had a reason for her poor choice, in my mind he turned her beautifully thoughtful surprise for him into an ugly moment. If he had bothered to inquire about her reason, she still would have earned her punishment but he would have had a better understanding of her thoughtful heart and tender spirit.

Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: No

The story was a mixture of DDLG kink, motorcycle clubs, second chances, and mystery/ revenge plot.
Barron and Yoanni were a couple who didn’t openly communicate which led to them breaking up. 6 months later and after moving away, Yoanni comes back determined to fight for their relationship again. Barron is quickly smacked upside the head by friends and told him where he went wrong, and he went all in too.
These two learned from their previous mistakes and because of that, they were able to remain solid during a sensitive time where Yoanni seemed to have a stalker with nefarious intentions.

Good enough to keep me wanting to read the next book.

This started well, and I like the characters (Barron has no background mentioned), but it got a little convoluted toward the middle. I was able to put this book down many times, but not forget the storyline. Ended well, but it is definitely a HFN story. The club will have trouble on their hands for years to come, so I can't figure out why these two love birds would buy a house away from the club. Makes no sense- they're not safe. And since when are cops and MC's best buds? And where's the understanding from Barron with Johnny Gun at the end? Just sayin'....

Maybe it's because I wasn't feeling well but I did not like this book. The story dragged, the number of times the characters just couldn't put their finger on what felt off, that despite erratic behaviour the MFC didn't notice any red flags but was also a huge empath who felt someone elses pain didn't add up. What should have felt suspenseful was just irritating and obvious. Again how many times did we need to hear that Barron doesn't look like a biker. And the quick jump to DDlg with barely any comms. Just no. Not for me.

Barron tells the exciting story of Barron and Yoanni. They met in the earlier book Cutter and were together until Barron pushed her away. This book starts about six or seven months after they broke up. They’ve both been miserable. Can they give it another chance? Can Barron keep her safe from whoever is trying to scare her? Can she accept Barrons love flaws and all? I very much enjoyed finding out.
