Shadowy tentacles are invading my dreams. And I might like it.

Lately when I close my eyes, it feels like there's something there with me. The shadows touch, probe at me, and there's no explanation for it outside of the paranormal.
What I thought was a figment of imagination turned out to be a fierce shadow daddy with a protective streak. He's possessive, dangerous, and yet somehow alluring . . . I shouldn't want this, shouldn't want him. But he's everything a normal man isn't.
When my friend goes missing, he's the only one I can turn to. So I do.

Janie has recurring dreams (or nightmares) of shadows “disturbing” her sleep. She starts to notice shifting shadows everywhere she turns and strange flickering lights in her apartment. Janie starts to fear she is losing her mind. But when a bad date takes a terrifying turn, a creature from the shadows saves her and he becomes her only hope to find her friend.
This paranormal romance from S.R. Griffith immediately pulls us into the shadows and has our main character, Janie, wondering if her newly found Shadow Daddy, Meical, is there for nefarious reasons or truly for love. Although he continuously reassures her his actions are pure, she can’t help but be wary.
Even being an ominous creature from the darkness, Meical can really be a sweetheart. He does everything he can to win Janie’s affection, including making her meals so she eats well. He’s passionate about protecting her and comes across as a clingy, jealous puppy at times always needing to grasp at her with his tentacles. Janie is constantly reminding him that there’s a little thing called consent and just because he considers her his mate, she still has a say in how things turn out. I liked that even though he was obsessively in love with her, he always did as she pleased.
There is a lot of open-door spice between Janie and Meical. You also get a dual point perspective from our two main characters as the story progresses.
I would highly recommend picking up this book if you like demons, monsters, shadow figures and tentacles. The spice level is high and steamy, with a dual point perspective from Janie and Meical. It’s a good story with a plot and not just smut. Those that like a quick read, will appreciate it is under 250 pages. If you like a hot, paranormal romance with a shadow daddy, tentacles and a little mystery mixed in, then definitely indulge in this read.

Shadow figure that is possessive and sweet and has tentacles? SAY NO MORE! Reoccuring ominous dreams cause Janie to be on edge. Shadows figures following her, watching her until a bad date proves men are worse than monsters. Meical saves her and grows very attached to this human woman. All the spice and sweetness to top it off! This was such a fun read from S.R. Griffith. It was a little dark which really gave it some edge and I enjoyed it.

A really enjoyable dark romance between a lonely human and the shadow monster obsessed with her.
Janie is lonely and working a job she hates when her dreams take a spicy and shadowy turn. But they're just dreams right? No way those shadow tentacles and claws could be real. And what does it say about her that she likes them?
A highlight of the book for me was the way Meical cares for Janie in her loneliness even before she knows him. He is just so devoted and obsessed to her happiness and safety. And although this book has some darker themes, it made their trip to the HEA more fraught but also sweeter. Janie gets into some dark situations, but her shadow mate is always there to save her. And he is also more than willing to grovel when he himself has done wrong.
And being a shadow monster certainly has some spicy advantages. Those shadow tentacles know what they're doing, and Meical's ability to manipulate his shadow anatomy makes the spicy times super hot!

This book came out the gate swinging with smut and it was so much fun😮💨
It was a good amount of romance mixed with adventure. Going along the journey with Janie finding out about and navigating the paranormal aspect was really fun. It felt like I was truly along the journey with her.
Although it was kind of aggravating how hard she tried not to see or hear what people were trying to get her to see.
I also personally felt it took her too long to accept their relationship.
But overall it was a cute and fun story with a little action in the last quarterish of the book!

There is a Facebook group which features poorly written erotica - it feels like this was a product of that group. It feels like a 7th grader and AI tried to write a book. It feels like I have lost brain cells as a direct result of trying to read this.

Dnf the sample... Normally I would just say meh and move on but this was the most poorly written book I have quite possibly ever come across. Between the typos and poor sentence structure this was unreadable. I am not normally this picky, but I have to have some standards!

When Janie finds herself becoming a plaything to a shadowy monster in her dreams, she never realizes that might spill over into her waking life. Blissfully ignorant of the paranormal, it isn't until people start acting odd around her, and she makes a fanged friend, that Janie learns her shadowy lover is siphoning her seggsual energy so he can manifest a body. When Meical does surface, he's otherwordly, terrifying, and claims Janie as his fated mate. Janie has too much going on to deal with her newfound soulmate houseguest because her friend is missing. Her vampire bestie and shadow lover help her hunt through the suspicious men of dating apps in an effort to find her friend before it's too late. What Janie doesn't realize is that all her fake dates and flirting are turning Meical into a possessive monster, and it won't be much longer before she has to stop pushing him away.

This book has a way of captivating your attention and keeping it. I couldn’t put this book down. It’s not something I would usually read, but I’m glad I did. It’s so good. I decided to read it because monster romances are quite popular right now and the descriptions of the book caught my interest.
The relationship between Janie and Meical was something different from the typical dark romance relationships. I like that she didn’t automatically put everything that happened aside, she actually took time to adjust to the new situation she found herself in. And Meical, as a character, was lovable, he was all about her and helped her when she asked, because he knew it would make her happy.
I’d like to say I found aspects of this book to be rather confusing, especially with how some of the characters spoke. The way they worded sentences was strange. Maybe I missed something, and it was meant to be that way, but it felt odd to me. Hence, why I didn't rate it higher.
Overall, I loved this book and definitely recommend it if you like dark romance books and/or monster romance books. The author did a great job with it.

A spicy, fast paced monster romance that was surprisingly entertaining and interesting. I went into this book wanting pure smut and I got exactly that, but I also got a monster who was absolutely in love with the FMC, Janie, and this story had mates! Janie found herself struggling with getting sleep, and that was all due to the mysterious monster creeping in her dreams, and….railing her and pleasuring her in all kinds of ways in her dreams. Little did Janie know that the monster in her dreams would later appear in physical form and profess his undying love for her! Meical surprisingly had some endearing moments where he did whatever he could to prove his loyalty and affection for Janie, but also committing acts of violence in order to protect her too. There was also a bit of a plot line in the story that I wasn’t expecting, but I wasn’t fully invested in it. All in all, this was just an easy, fun monster romance that I enjoyed, and gave me the fix that I was wanting in the monster romance department. Would recommend if you want something spicy with a monster who is all shadows, hot, and did I mention he uses said shadow tentacles in a variety of ways?! Now you know.

I loved this story. It is one that pulls you in right from the very beginning. It has a bit of spice, action, drama, and a bit of suspense. We meet Janie who has a personality that is sweet and caring but you can see she is going through some things. We meet Meical soon and boy do I love his personality. At times I feel bad for him because Janie tends to get upset with him. Now, that is not saying she wasn’t justified in her anger but I still feel bad for him all the same. He has this super caring and protective personality that is felt throughout the story. It has bits of humor at times that had me laughing. I loved the side characters as they really added the story. I think my favorite was Urien. He totally had me laughing at his antics and his personality was fantastic. This story is extremely well written and developed. It will have you on the edge of your seat. It pulled me in and I couldn’t put it down until I reached the end. This is absolutely a fantastic story that does not disappoint.

I am definitely in my monster / PNR romance era! I enjoyed this book a LOT!! It had it all- a strong mysterious plot, a "bad guy" MMC who is a total golden retriever, a lonely human FMC who was thrusted into the magical world by her stalker. Her lightness vs his darkness created the perfect tension., Where evil is shown to be the opposite.. I swear these books have me rooting for the "bad guys" but i could only love Meical!!
I loved Janie and Meical!! This is the first book by this author and i will definitely have to look at her other books!! The amount of heat and spice, my, oh, my 🥵🌶️!!

Once again, this author has given me a wild reading ride that took me outside what I expected and left me thrilled with the outcome. Janie and Meical were so well suited to each other and I loved the journey she went on to prove her sanity over movements in the shadows and her crazy tentacle dreams. She ends up discovering there's a whole world outside of what she ever thought, including witches, vampires and demons. Meical has hid from all self care and is so weak when he feels Janie is his mate. Well, he courts her in dreams but takes her energy to become physical again. Explains her exhaustion ;) Now that he's here with her, though, he has to work to prove he's sincere in his feelings - and to keep her safe. With fab side characters and great steam, this was an engaging page turner for me. Loved it!

When a date takes a bad turn she finds herself being saved by the creature hiding in those shadows. Then when her friend Tana goes missing Janie turns to Meical and his vampire friend for help in finding her.
Meical is focused on protecting Janie as he believes he's found his mate in her, and just wants to do everything for her; though he does need to watch where he puts his tentacles.

This book was pretty good for a monster romance. S.R. Griffith can really tell a good book. The plots to their books and characters are just so amazing. This book you won’t want to put down before the story ends.

He finally becomes whole and Mets Janie and doesn’t go so well at first. Read and find out what happens between Meical & Janie and all the other twist and turns in this monster romance.

This monster romance was very fun to read! I love an obsessive MMC like the rest of us but mixed it with a little paranormal and shadows, I’m sold!
The world that S.R. created is very unique, the different kind of monsters running around living their lives alongside the “normies” was very realistic and I loved that!
The relationship between Janie and Meical has a lot of twists and turns, and I loved that Janie always reminded Meical the importance of consent, she didn’t fall immediately just because of the sexual chemistry and that was very refreshing.
The mystery and the sidekick characters added a nice touch to the story but I could’ve used more depth.

The author puts an interesting spin on the fated mates trope and brings a shadow daddy to life unlike the ones we are used to reading about - a bit more... primal
Janie & Meical are so sweet together... he is a very possessive MMC who would do anything to win over his mates' heart - even cook for her!

I wasn't certain what to expect with this book, but I was pleasantly surprised! I love a good paranormal book, especially since the monster was a multitasker lol, in regards to the story I loved how the FMC wasn't overly confident but things built along the way, she found a family in a sense and that she over came a lot in her journey. This felt like a book that had a happy ending but also felt a bit grey, like things were just really starting. Either way, I was happy to be able to read this and again I truly enjoyed it!.

I'm so sad this book is over! Monster of My Dreams was so good! It had spice, banter, humor, and everything I wanted in a paranormal romance.
I loved MMC Meical! He was so sweet and thoughtful! I wouldn't mind having one of him invading my dreams 😉. All he wanted was Janie's love and did EVERYTHING to get it.
At first, I wasn't sure about the FMC, Janie, but as the book went on, I really enjoyed the banter between her and the other characters.
But I think the star of the show should go to Urien! Oh my gosh, was he such a great character! He was hilarious, and I just loved his personally from the start.
This was my first read from this author, and it didn't disappoint!! I am so glad I had the opportunity to receive an ARC edition to voluntarily leave a review.

This was my first read from this author, and it didn't disappoint!! I am so glad I had the opportunity to receive an ARC edition to voluntarily leave a review.

Shadows And Tentacles
Janie’s reoccurring dreams are getting dark - and she’s starting to see shadows when she’s awake. Is shadow Meical protective of Janie, or dangerous to her health? One thing is for sure, their interactions sure are steamy!! While a quick-ish read, this one has depth, and with dual point-of-view, you really feel like you know Janie and Meical. Plus, I really enjoyed how the paranormal world was unveiled to Janie - hoped there’s more to be written in this world! A great read.

Gleeful Goblin Review: This book is a little darker than I tend to read but I saw mention of shadow monster/tendrils so I couldn't help myself. The tone of this story is definitely (no pun intended) a good bit on the dark side. Definitely check the trigger/content warnings for this story but if you like your shadow monsters and your stories to be equally dark then you'll certainly be into this story. 5/5 Stars

If you liked Death's Obsession you'd LOVE this book. Meical is absolutely the monster anyone would dream of. I was screaming at Janie to give in as Meical just had me swooning. The banter between the two had me laughing out loud & the spice is certainly on point. Highly recommend if you'd like a short, light read but with a twisting plot & a whole hidden world.

This is a first from this author for me and definitely did not disappoint . My only question is where can I get a shadow daddy of my own lol. Hmm a shadow daddy with tentacles… He is like what we want in monster and man. I love this full of steam humor action and mystery.

This a very cute and spicy story about Janie and Meical’s journey to happily ever after. There is bad guys, good guys, and luckily for Janie, a shadow tendril wielding monster with a touch her and die attitude.

3 stars for the sex scenes, other than that it would be in the 2 star range. Most of this book is oddly written, with things often getting repeated. The same conversations happening multiple times, just with different words.

This story was very well writing. There was a main character that, in my own head, reminded me of Johnny depp's reenactment of the mad hatter. So I kept giggling to myself whenever he came up. The spicy scenes were spicing for sure. I really enjoyed the fantasy, the world, and the mystery.

A very different type of story than I usually read, but it surprised me!
We meet Janie, a shy and reserved girl who mostly keeps to herself. We quickly learn that she seems to be having very spicy dreams about an unknown man. Then she starts to discover that this man is a “monster” invading her dreams and feeding off her sexual desires and feelings. This starts to open her eyes to the magical underbelly of her city, hiding in plain sight. When her 1 work friend goes missing, she works with her monster lover and magical friend to find out what happened.
This book is HIGH spice, so I appreciated the interspersed plot throughout. The underlying storyline of trying to save Janie’s friend was well-written and compelling. We also worked through a lot of trust issues that Janie had, given the dubious consent that occurred between her and Meical earlier in the story. Once he was with her in physical world, he worked hard to gain her trust after her near-r@pe and what occurred in her dreams. If you are a fan of monster romance, shadow daddy, bondage, and save the girl, give this story a read!
