If you are looking for content on Bullet Trains..Its a disappointment.. Just start at chapter 18 and 19 and thats the only thing one needs.
The rest of the book is an biography of Sogo san president of Japanese national railways and SocioEconomic condition of Japan for most of the time between 1900-1970.Good to know but not of any use.
The language quality is poor as it is a translation from Japanese as mentioned in the introduction.
