Stemming from her own experiences as a teenager who faced academic pressure and lack of emotional support that led to high levels of anxiety, Emma shares various strategies and elements of highly effective coping skills. The book highlights the different emotions that young teenagers have and explains the role of self-care, positive thinking, and neuroplasticity in facing different emotional challenges. Our emotions are not independent fragments of our existence. The emotional responses we have as individuals to various situations reflect several factors. In a world that is transient and constantly in motion, it is necessary that we pay attention to our thought patterns, communications, relationships, and conflict resolution skills. The author explores various themes such as meditation, and neuroscience.
I enjoyed this book. As a young reader in my early twenties, I could relate to some of the experiences that Emma shared as she wrote this book. One of these was the lack of self-awareness that most teenagers have. Growing up in a society where you are expected to act a certain way at a certain age or adapt to change quickly, we often question whether it is appropriate for us to feel certain emotions. This book takes its reader on a journey of self-reflection. It compels you to look within and ask questions that have clogged up your heart. I appreciated the author's use of examples to illustrate each theme in detail. I was impressed by her eloquent delivery of her thoughts, guiding the reader as if unlocking the depths of our own minds.
This book is an absolute must-read for everyone! It is not too late to start figuring out your emotions as an adult, and "Coping Skills for Teens Unleashed" is the perfect book!

This book is an eye-opener. Through each chapter, I discovered certain aspects of my life that I had unconsciously built in response to experiences as a young child. I also saw how these "responses" had affected my choices, lifestyle, and overall view of life. We might not stop the world from shifting paces. However, we can regulate ourselves so we do not get caught up in a whirlwind of emotions. Some things that happen to us in life reflect our lack of emotional awareness. This book helps readers experience themselves without judgment and societal pressure. I appreciated Emma's simplicity. It felt like I was in a therapy session, addressing questions, embracing emotions, and finding inner peace.

Not many books can capture my attention in the first few pages. However, this book immediately grabbed my interest. Even though I am not the intended age group for this work, the content still resonates strongly because of my personal dealings with anxiety.
We all navigate our fair share of challenges during adolescence. And responses to those pressures vary. Some master it more adeptly than others. I, however, have always struggled with anxiety. Throughout my teenage years, I grappled with these challenges without support. That led to continual struggle until this present time. I am still learning to manage those anxieties.
Admittedly, even as a young girl, I enjoyed reading. But I never truly ventured out to read for self-improvement. Times have changed. After immersing myself in this material, I have experienced many moments of clarity. The applicable exercises have helped me to understand the root of my anxieties and develop skills to manage them better.
If only I had discovered this book in my youth. I believe that I would have developed solid coping strategies, making my path to healing more navigable. But as they say, it's better late than never. And now I believe it would be even more instrumental as a resource to help navigate my younger child when he begins to encounter the challenges of adolescence.
I highly recommend this book to anyone dealing with anxiety but specifically for parents of teens.

The book does not only contain intensive research but also a personalized narration from the author's experience in dealing with her emotions when she was younger. This transparency will help the reader understand someone else' journey of transformation which will in turn encourage them to work on themselves.
However, I think the book might benefit from a more balanced viewpoint that admits the challenges and setbacks inherent in the road to emotional mastery. This could help readers control their expectations and understand that growth is not always linear. For instance, including more real-life examples of failures and how to recover from them could provide a richer, more practical guide for readers. I highly recommend to not just teenagers, but anyone seeking help in emotional mastery.
I resonated very well with this book. It was great advice and is actually something I wished I had read when I was a teenager, but even so it has helped me a lot right now.
