This book of poetry blew me away. The author is not an old man but his depth of knowledge, life experiences and being able to express it so raw and poetically is a gift. I couldn’t put this book down until I read everything he had to say.
I definitely recommend this to everyone. The pages come from the perspective of a young black man and, as non-black, old and a “square”, I appreciated glimpses into some life journeys that I am not familiar with.
It’s hard to pick out favorites but some that really touched me were “Oh You Black Black”, “She’s a B***h!” and “Growth”.
The author has come out with a book 2 of his poetry and I will be reading it.
