Warm felt autobiography of the late football manager in conversation before he passed discussing life and his football career

The football journey of Sven, from a player to coach. He was an all rounder as a child, having learnt many musical instruments and participated in other sports other than football, namely decathlon.
Whilst his time as a player was left prolific, he had a successful career as a coach/manager, having managed top teams like Benfica, Romania, Sampdoria, Lazio and international teams like England, Mexico, Ivory Coast and Philippibes (which was his last but most disliked)
Of course England was the most high profile team he managed, and was constantly sought after by paparazzi.he was the first foreign manager they had and the team performed well under him. He has managed several high profile players under the different teams.
He was diagnosed with cancer in early 2024 and passed on in August the same year. The best advice he left us was to always stay positive and live as you always have.

Found this a easy read, although under explored in many areas (a very short book!). Sven comes across as a nice, serious man who wants to do a good job and doesn't want to get involved in football politics. He's a little naïve perhaps in his relationship with the English tabloid newspapers as manager of the national side (albeit an impossible task), and his entrustment of his essentially his life savings with a corrupt Saudi investor, but he's good company and I enjoyed the audiobook. Nothing life-changing but an easy few hours with someone who's experienced a lot in their field

A beautiful book ,not just about football but life too ,that now has a different feel to it now. Sven has passed away. I just wish it was longer 270s pages. it could easily be more like 350 ,doesn't go into too much detail about the football matches and leagues and cups that he won ,definitely a book I'm going to keep
